I havn't heard of any "park wide" behind the scenes tours since about 2007/2008. Not sure if they've done any since. The best thing to do i suppose would be to try to drum up interest on a Alton Towers fansite and if you can get a potential party together, inform the Towers management. If the demand is there, you never know, they may put some more on. Maybe, maybe not. I have heard of a couple of behind the scenes on individual rides since though. Good luck if you do attend one, they're great.
It was during a period of a couple of years when several of these types of 'Behind the Scenes' tours were held. The tickets were available on a first come first served basis if I remember rightly, obviously you had to be looking in the right places to be aware that these events were being held however.
I remember going on Black hole when I was little. I hated it, made me feel sick, but during that time it was one of the only ride I could fit because I was too short for most rides.
Those shots of Oblivion are just additional footage from being inside the old Black Hole tent. If you watch the whole video you will see the old Black Hole track segments etc : )
Hi, I'm working on a video covering the history of The Black Hole, would you mind if I potentially use some of this footage? Full credit would be given. Thanks.
nathan oconnor , back in the 80s / 90s The Black Hole was an indoor ride ,inside a giant tent and nearly pitch black inside . You couldn't brace yourself for the turns and drops because you couldn't see them coming!! I think someone fell off the ride and that's why they shut it down . That's the old track from the old black hole lying around . This is obviously the replacement new outdoor version . I went many a time as a teenager in the 80s , the old corkscrew rollercoaster being a favourite! 👍🏻
someone died on the alton mouse, it got suck at the top of the ride so they sent another mouse to give it a push. The other mouse pushed it off the track and a woman died who was on the stuck mouse. Soon after that it disappeared, now i know where :)
No one actually died, I don't think. I think it was just a crash, but many people suffered from whiplash. Many people may recall saying people died, but that happens all the time when it comes to rides, sometimes when no injuries were even sustained.
This tour was around the end of 2006 i think, or early 2007. Yes, you can still use the other rides in the park as long as you go in open season : )
has the black hole gone for good or have they rebuilt it
@@leeturbo2008 The Black Hole was refurbished and relocated to another park in Sweden and is still operating today.

I remember going through the black hole, I loved it because I was 10.
I love seeing the "behind the scene's" side of the park, when do they run these tours and how do you get on them?

Would love to go up the Flag Tower. How come they closed Coaster Corner to the public anyway?
I personally think Hex is the best ride at alton towers. I love the others but Hex is the one for me
6 on the ride and 1 in the garrage?
I thought they could take 16

From the looks of the black hole
The Smiler is better
The Smiler is certainly very popular with guests. I did enjoy the Black Hole but on the whole The Smiler is most probably the better ride overall.
