Bode has one of the most convincing betrayals of any video game character, it doesn't feel contrived or forced, it feels belieavle because he isn't betraying Cal to be evil or anything, he's just looking out for his daughter, and it shows that a jedi with a red lightsaber doesn't always mean they're horrible rage filled people, they can just be broken and willing to make the hard choices in order to keep those they love safe.
And that's why the Code of the Jedi always warned to engage in personal attachments... both storys - Bode AND Cal's - showed some possible consequences in the Game...
Im completely with you but I also wanna add that Bodes plan wasn't very well thought out. Since kata would be all alone if anything happened to bode on tanalorr. Which adds another reason as to why he needed to be stopped.
@Poleybear that's a good point, it's even worse considering Cal was prepared to bring a whole network of people to Tanalor before him and Bode even went to check it out, which Bode even said to Cal they should do before bringing everyone there. It was like Bode was trying to prevent this from happening but his selfishness for his daughters safety got the better of him. I think Bode considered Cal a friend and was trying to think of a way to explain to Cal what his plans were but once he betrayed him it was too late to change Cal's mind. He should've come clean and told Cal what was going on he might've understood even if he wouldn't trust him again afterwards.
do wanna point out the red lightsaber is because it is Dagan's. presumably, he lost his own saber a long time ago. Also, as seen in this game, red blades are very specific to falling to the dark side as you have to "bleed" the crystal.

A ghost star is one that's come to the end of its lifetime but its light can still be seen due to the overwhelming distance and the speed at which light travels. Almost as if to say, she is gone but here memory still lives on. However what's worse, the lullaby itself is saying that even that light can no longer be seen as the singer is pleading for the star to show itself and sing along. Another perfect way to represent how Bode hasn't coped well with her loss like Kata claimed. This game puts Disney to shame man.

I just beat Jedi Survivor and this song/force echo makes me cry like a baby just thinking about it. Haven’t had this feeling since Ending E of Nier Automata and Ultima Thule in FFXIV.

As soon as Bode talked about his daughter and it was clear he would do anything for her. and thats exactly when i knew he was going to betray, hes the only other survivor from coruscant, it was too convient the newbie would be trustworthy, even though i saw it coming, it was done very well, after defeating dagan gera i trusted him a little more so when the betrayal finally did come it still hurt.
I usually never cry but this made me cry, it just hits so hard after all that happened I feel like Bodes actions are justified even when Cal has his lightsaber against his throat instead of begging for mercy he asked Cal if he could protect her and Cal couldn’t answer him which made Bode keep fighting till the very end
love this song ive been trying to reverse lyric this to find the real song and the answer is this song dosent exist yet its just a song you can hear with the echos and from kata so there is no full song name or anything very sad im sure eventually someone will say that we need this as a song but this is going to take awhile to probaly make the offical song and this song is aslo not in the offical soundtrack so the song does not exist yet.

I was so mad when Bode betrayed Cal, but thats because i genuinely liked him as a character, and the twist with him being a jedi survivor as well.... Really wanted more of Bode and his story, but at the same time i enjoyed his story as it was edit: I am not saying i didnt see his betrayal coming, just that it upset me when it happened nonetheless

Bode is Anakin. Plain and simple. Weve seen the tragedy of good intentions when fear takes hold and trying to protect the ones you love from death. Because Anakin did the exact same thing with Padme. Respawn did it in the span of a single game which takes incredible skill. My heart was just heavy after this game. Not happy just...heavy. Damn good star wars story right here. Cant wait for the inevitable 3rd game.
Bode has an “Anakin” betrayal (or a betrayal cause by fear) Here’s why : Anakin betrayed the Jedi because he was SCARED of Padmé dying. Bode betrayed Cal Kestis because he was SCARED of the Order doing something to his daughter (Kata Akuna) Anakin was influenced by the leader of the Sith (Emperor/Chancellor Palpatine) Bode was influenced by the leader of the Order (Lank Denvik)

Yeah, It's a really sweet song. There is a version where Kata sings alone in the Mantis but BD1 is in the background making beep-boop sounds.
