I live in New Hampshire not too far from where you evidently stayed. I just had to speak up here and make it clear that this snow storm that just happened this past week is the worst we’ve seen this year and is some thing that we see usually every week of a winter. We’ve had an extremely mild and precipitation free to light Year so far this particular storm that you’re sharing here took down wires where I live and we went 3 1/2 days without power and were melting snow for toilet flushing and bathing. It’s just part of living here because like I said some years we get a foot of snow, and, couple days later see another 6 inches in a few days later another 8 inches it just happens that way. Glad to see you local and have to say it’s nice to see the beauty of the trees even on RUclips. I always say we live in a state where people come to vacation because it’s such a beautiful place.
That’s exactly what I say about living in a state where people come to vacation: FLORIDA!!! 🏖 🏝🍹 South Florida (Miami) to be precise. I’m aghast watching Slim going for a walk in all that snow.
Dude! After getting my critters out and fed, brewed a cup of tea and sat down and boom, there you were! Best way to start my Saturday! The winter scenery montage was pure beauty and the music chosen, perfection! The ending was STELLAR! I am still chuckling! Well done! Well done! Just love your videos! Sending healing energy to your finger! ✌🏻
That's a nice looking heater and set up you have done, makes me feel warm, just looking at it. Today was a nice surprise to wake up to another Slim video. Thanks for taking us along. Great to see a young Slim. Fantastic ending, really gave me a chuckle
Slim, greetings from the UK. Many years ago I helped rescue a work colleague who got stuck to a pit toilet seat in Norway. We were inside the arctic circle in February. He went into the can, lowered his trousers etc. and sat down on the throne for the performance. Only problem was he had been exercising and he was a tad sweaty. He instantly froze to the cold seat. He had been in there for a while and fortunately somebody else needed the loo. He came and found us in the bar to both tell us and get help. We raced to his aid and after a few minutes of uncontrollable laughter we agreed that the best course of action was hot water. So, with a bucket of hot water we managed to defrost his backside from the Karzy seat. He was OK but he was not keen on sitting down for the next week or so. The flight home on the red mesh seats of a Norwegian C130 must have been rather uncomfortable.
Agree with you about the pricing Slim. Our barebones state parks (Colorado) start at $28/night. Electric hookups start at $36/night. Note that fee does not include park entry - that's extra. New Hampshire is beautiful! Thank you for sharing with us.
16:00 I really love how you put this video together but especially at this point duringyour walk. You really capture nature so well because you look at things that I do, like the bark of a tree, the branches, their life and everything surrounding them, the way everything moves. Very beautiful eye you have. So nice. Thank you.
11am, Minnesnowta. Thanks Slim for the motivation to get out and winter camp. The scenery is spectacular. And you brought a gift of laughter to my morning with ET! I really appreciate your time and effort with these videos. Peace be with you Slim
Add some rubbing alcohol to your wiper fluid, it will help your fluid to run thru your sprayers and will help your fluid from freezing up as easy . Also put some rain X solution on your windows and your solar panel. This will help your windows to clear off easier and Quicker. I drove a semi truck cross country for 23 years and these things helped out tremendously.
Wow! 15 minutes away from my house! Hancock is one of the very few open in winter. The stream behind you is Otter Creek if I recall and quite refreshing in the summer. Last summer they had to close Hancock because there was a bear constantly showing up. If you go to the other side of the Kancamagus there's a really nice CG called Jigger Johnson and the Swift River runs past it. Well worth the stay too.
Great scenery, and I always get a kick out of some of the surprises you put in! Especially the story of Betty and Barney Hill, the movie of which I’ve seen at least couple of times. I feel it really happened. Great job at the end!
Okay Slim, you have entered into a new era of videography and musical adaptation. I feel it is time to rename yourself Slick Potato Head, as you have become slick at these productions. Thank you for giving an ex-pat, living in the Philippines a beautiful taste of winter.
I have a Winnebago Mini Drop, 21'. We camp up in this area from May to Oct. So today, February 4, 2023, she is in hibernation in the side yard at home. Battery is in garage and systems are drained and antifreeze is keeping her tucked away till early May when she wakes up. I love shopping in Littleton at the Purple Peacock. So much fun to see all the fascinating 'stuff'. I found a few nice things and a gorgeous cheery jewelry chest in excellent condition; I've never seen before. It fits perfectly in my bedroom. Like you said about the gloves, they coat a bit. This jewelry box costs me plenty but so well worth it, My husband and I have walked these woods in all kinds of weather but not snow. We walk in snow down southern NH in Beaver Brook State Park. So many trails to explore, each one with their own unique view. We do so wearing snowshoes. We love the sound of the woods in winter. It's a quiet sound except for the small waterfalls, babbling brooks, of which there are many, branches snapping from the weight of snow and ice, and the dogs running that are having so much fun. I've never heard music., I don't care for it in the woods, sounds out of context, but no biggie. I do have a mute button. Good job showing us the trails, the local. So many photographers walk and talk with the camera on themselves. Really! Good video!
Seeing the snow coming down reminds me of a joke we would recite growing up in Michigan: What do you call a snow storm that dumps 2 feet of snow? A good start…. ;)
That area of New Hampshire is absolutely beautiful, my family has visited the white mountains and Lincoln rea for over 45 years. Fall Time its breathe taking. and the Kancamagus Highway is always a fun trip too!! its closed during the winter months but its super nice!! great video and great seeing you were semi local to me!!
I’m in the Pacific Northwest (damp) and have a similar pair of gloves. “Snowboarder gloves,”they were called. Mine got wet from sweating and were impossible to dry because of the waterproof outlet layer. Ended up separating the lining from the outside with a seam ripper at the wrist. Now I can separate the two layers and dry them separately. Put back together, they work as well as before. Envy you your winter camping! And your travelogue of places I’d like to go.
I just had to do the exact same repairs to my 2004 liberty - it's amazing how much quieter they are afterward. I love these winter videos so much - stay safe!!!
Beautiful video Slim. I am really happy that your heater is working so well for you. Safe travels and thank you for taking us along! I am less than an hour away from where you was , it was a sad day when the Old Man of the Mountain crumbled. It happened on a foggy night, people were shocked the next day when the fog cleared and saw the old man was gone. That was a funny skit with you being taken away by Aliens and what was left of the Old Man of the Mountains said "Good Luck Slim" LOL.. 👍
Welcome to New Hampshire Slim! Hancock Campground has always been my go to, during winter my pals and I will just hang out on a site during the day and sit around a fire and eat BBQ. Hope everyone was as pleasant as we usually are here. Come back soon
Amazing how you camp in weather like that; just shows it can be done! The ending to your video was priceless....also shows what camera trickery that is out there. Thanks for sharing and safe travels friend.

Hey Slim, just love the winter scenery with the flowing water and the snow in the trees. I know it's cold but it is beautiful. The stove looks great and seems to do a perfect job. Slim you need to get behind a sale of gloves, Slim's bathroom gloves. You Sit, Shit and Split!!! They come with instructions on how to use them without losing one. Lol. Cheers brother. Happy Camping!!!

Good to see you traveling again, Slim. The White Mountains are beautiful, especially in the fall. I’ve been to Lincoln once. I had to stop there on my way to Stowe, Vermont. My husband and I were on vacation in New England. On our way to Stowe from Bar Harbor, ME, stopped at an overlook at the summit of the White Mountains to eat the lunch we brought with us. I was using a serrated bread knife to try to open a package of vacuum sealed cheese. The knife slipped and cut my finger to the bone. We were about a hour from Lincoln. Fortunately, when we got there, the one and only doctor in town agreed to see me and stitch me up. It took about seven stitches.
@@SlimPotatohead - we got rid of the knife! It’s a long story involving crazy relatives, Little Italy in Boston and a loaf of Italian bread. I bought the knife at a dollar store because of the bread.
Your revisit to Indian Head was amazing to see that photo of such a young, adventerous young man and quiet handsome may I say still continue his enjoyment of the adventure his way. Cool effects at the end.
I have camped several times along the "Kanc", in September. Live in NE Ohio . This brought back so many memories, thank you. I appreciate all the work associated with the camera work that your videos require but the results are fantastic! Since I am 82 with health problems and camp in my minivan I doubt I will get back to this area again so THANK YOU for your great videos!
Wow, There ya are. I thought i`d lost ya. Glad to find you again. As always a great video and thanks for taking us along with you on another outstanding road trip. Love the new trailer.
Slim, you're a real minimalist. Your rig is simple and your equipment needs are at a truly basic needs level, you extract the true essentials for life out of the small and crucial things we all need to exist comfortably. Keep the wonderful videos coming. They're great!
Snow. Thanks for the reminder Slim. Have lived in areas of snow it's beautiful to see, but now back in the deserts of Arizona. Much prefer the dry heat to snow.
I had the same kind of tent you showed in your picture back in the 70’s. I did some weekend camping back then. I remember the red glow it gave inside in the middle of the day.
Thanks for sharing your journey and the blast from the past photo with longish hair and that little tent for hitchhiking. How cool. I realized as I watched your video that even if I were there you wouldn’t want me around… so the video is you taking me along and that’s as good as it will ever get! Thanks for taking me along!
My uncle and I and a friend of mine went camping one Veteran's Day weekend at Dolly Copp. We had his 14' Mallard travel trailer and were quite comfortable. When we woke up the next morning, there was 2-3 inches of snow on the ground. The only other campers were a young couple in a tent. Didn't seem to bother them but they did pack up and leave before noon.
Dude, you are so cool. Betty and Barney were cool, seeing Indian Head 45 years apart...wicked! Dis you happen to see the Old Man in the Mountain way back when??? It still breaks my heart.
Thanks, Slim. Got my belly laugh for today when you talked about the pit toilet. My "cheeks" puckered up real fast because I instantly remembered as a kid, sitting on those things and wondering if my "cheeks" were going to freeze to the seat as it was aluminum and not plastic in that particular toilet. And the memory made me involuntarily squeeze and instantly shudder from head to toe remembering the COLD butt I had and how I 'learned' how to 'hold' it until I just had to go! So funny in memory, so COLD in reality.🚽🚻
I live in Massachusetts. I haven't been up that way in a few years or so. I really enjoyed the story and picture of you in 1978...that was great! Seems to me we are about the same age. Wonderful video SP.👍😊
White mountains!! I grew up in NH. Miss it. Thanks for sharing. I thought you had white mountains in Canada. As a teenager we use to go up to Lincoln and find a place off the road and camp for the weekend .Great memories. What a nice treat to see my home state.Again thanks.
Waking up to a new video from Slim is a wonderful way to start a day!
That's a fact.

I so like your the nature camping stories and want to say : "The best wishes!".
Uncle Joe is right. Awakening to Slim's video is great. I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would. Greetings from South Texas.
🔥! Awesome little trailer!
Loved this ending ❤ 😍
We were just their this past October. Amazing how different it looks in the winter months.
I know and love the area. I honeymooned in the general area in 1974. Still love it.
Looks so beautiful out there and the music was lovely too
I live in Massachusetts.
