- Hey Everyone,
This is just a walk round vlog whilst I give my broken fingers a little bit of healing time before I get on this bike properly and give it a good hooning!
This video is for people that want to know lots about the bike, what it looks like for someone my weight and height to sit on it, what the accessories and packs are like.
Riding footage will come!
Thanks for your patience :)

I don't know why this "little" Honda has grabbed my attention but it really has, great video Kate, cant wait to hear that SC exhaust.
I wish I had watched this before taking one out for a ride review the other day. The dash set up you have there, makes everything much clearer. Being an old school fuddy duddy, I didn’t use the quick shifter, but recognise how much fun could be had with that 😇. I just rode the Hornet like I used to ride my original Hornet back in the day, it made me feel young again 😂. As for the visual quality, we can spend a fortune on equipment, then try and find a perfect place to do a walk around/photo, but with so many people about, and constantly changing light conditions, it is extremely difficult to get the perfect footage or shot every time. Great walk round, chat, content and information, thank you.
Had mine for 3 weeks now and so far it is cracking. Went from a duke to this and personally prefer the Honda. I have said before it looks much better in the flesh than photos or videos and the sound from the exhaust has a great note. Rides smoothly with plenty of poke and it does exactly what you want it to do, put a grin above your chin. Happy days
Hi Phil, some reviewers say the hornet has a snatchy throttle, what do you think of the throttle?
@@michaelcollins5792 never really found it a problem tbh. Dunno if its the way I ride or not. Grab a test ride of one, you will not be disappointed
@@philhogarth9492 cheerz for your reply, good to know you didn't have any problems with a twitchy throttle!!!
@@michaelcollins5792 I also have a Hornet. I feel the throttle becomes snatchy when you set Engine Braking to 3. So I just set it to 1 and forget about it. Loving the bike!
Great indepth video Kate. Honda are really onto a winner with this bike.
Dont mean to sound condescending but youre really getting into your stride now and developing your own style. Great to see. Well done.
thanks so much!
Excellent detailed review 👍! Glad the fingers are on the mend. I was listening so intently that I was about half way through the video when I read your “self deprecating” T shirt, made me laugh 😆😆😆.
Great vid Kate, and the T shirt is a cracker.
haha my friend Emma (who bought it me) has a warped sense of humour LOL
Great work under pressure! You managed to get it done before the birds carried you away.
13:44 you got the Honda boys excited. Lol
the important thing is to keep the enthusiasm, continue to work very well, high quality and always think positively to work, I am very happy to see you
As a 5ft6 person I greatly appreciate the seat height test, thank you
I am hoping to buy one this year and had my heart set on the white one,but I have to say the gray looks lovely.
me too buddy!
Very slick review Kate. Well done.👍
Shame it's a bit dark but onwards and upwards! 👆
Slick? You weren't watching the same review as me then. Kate seems incapable of saying more than one sentence without cutting to the next sentence. TMF, LCR, Teapot, Richi Vida. They show her up for the lack of quality she pumps out. She should go back to her day job> If they'll have her back.
You used to be nice, what happened? lol
Excellent walk thru video 😉👍 loved the graphics and the dash walk thru too 🌟😉
Ah, the backseat cowling has a special pre-damaged “still can’t get my leg over it” bump. Brilliant! 🤩
Great content.
Love the out takes and the T-shirt. 😂
Honda did the right thing with the engine, even though I think they should have named the CB650 as hornet and find some new catchy name for the CB750, just so the people would stop complaining and buy whatever bike they feel like buying. 270 Twins are the best for the road hands down.
Excellent review very thorough really like the outtakes too
Just P/X'd my CB600S Hornet (for a 1st Gen CB1000R).
To me this is the best YT vid I have seen on this bike covering spec & dash settings etc.
In my opinion cornering ABS /IMU (std or cost option) would have been nice.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Been waiting for this little hornet to shine, did my big test on one back in the day
Thanks Kate, brilliant explanation.
This might come across wrong but that T-shirt is really funny 😂
I do like that bike pitty it hasn’t got the kmt wheels
Bike looks rad in grey. I got told today the waiting list is now August at the earliest!
Damnnnn
@@UsernameKate I am gutted. It was June when I spoke to them just over a week ago. Going in tomorrow to order one 👍
Sounds like it's very in demand!
Thanks Kate, This Honda really seems like a lot of bike for the money. I look forwards to seeing you take it out on the road. :>)
Wow that touring pack looks a real steal
Super detailed video, great stuff. 👍 I want one now!
270 degree P-TWIN for the win! Sounds great in the various videos I've seen! Everything is throttle-by-wire now...so I hate when manufacturers don't add cruise control by default on the low and mid-range bikes. It's just a bit of code in the ECU, so at least make it an option! Not sure when this bike will make it to the North American market, but it's one I'd consider as a 2nd bike!
Nice one Kate 👍
That dash is really impressive for this price point. Like it
great vid kate plenty of information spot on
Really interesting Kate. Hopefully you will manage to ride it soon 👍.
Thanks Keith!
Cool video btw, loads of great info and lovely camera shots. Can't wait to see the ride videos! 👍👌🔥
Yup im one of those who expected an inline four
Hahaha. Love the last part. 🤣🤣🤣 made my day
I’ve got one I love it brilliant bike I’ve had hornets in the past 900 and a 250
How does it compare to the 900 you had? 😁
@@UsernameKate well it was a long time ago but I love this parallel twin, especially the 270° crank I used to like inline fours but these days I like a bit more character
I get you, inline 4s are super smooth, they just lack a bit of spice!
@@UsernameKate I don’t have to keep looking for another gear 😊
I feel you! Gears feel long the hornet 😁
Haha. Like what you did there "hornet..buzz" 👏🏾
:)
Well every biker's always looking for their halcyon bike and I think I've found mine with the Honda hornet..super smooth and comfortable to ride can be a kitten or a tiger and looking like ah purposefull creature from the animal kingdom yip you gest it a hornet.😊
Very comprehensive and informative video, looking forward to seeing your follow on videos 👍
Come on Honda bring the Hornet to the USA!
Dont make me buy a subpar MT-7 or Ancient SV650!
I know you mentioned people thinking this looks like the KTM but for me this looks super similar to the BMW F900R (as I own one). The tank shape, the exhaust design, the engine placement and it’s a parallel twin. But a little low power and a few grand cheaper.
Looks like solid mounted front discs too ? Normally only found on rear discs these days.
❤ from West Godavari 😊 love u Honda wing
Great review. Get well soon!
Great review,I would say for anyone your size the perfect bike,I always say if you can't pick the bike up,if it's been dropped, you need a smaller bike,I do a fair bit of off roading on my gs650 single,if I'm out on my own on a track, miles from civilization, and drop the bike,I can pick it up easily,my mate on his gs1200 has no chance
You are a professional 👏
very enjoyable review thank you.
Nice bike
How the yellow isn’t called Hornet yellow or some sort of wasp pun is more disappointing than it should be!
10/10 for the outtakes too 😂 I lost it when you told the geese to calm down
Like Yellow Jacket or something!!
@@UsernameKate “little bastard yellow” or “flying rage” came to mind but Yellow Jacket is actually a really good name!
Nice bike and smooth segway into the sponsorship mention.
A £50 saving is a £50 saving! 😁
@@UsernameKate Done like a pro!
Haha thanks!
Such a Buzz 😂😂😂
Well done.
Love your videos Kate, this is the best most comprehensive intro and walkaround of the Hornet I have seen so far....looking forward to you getting back out when all healed up and doing some ride videos! Also, like your choice of interesting background for the video!! I reckon this bike would sound proper fruity with a full exhaust 😈 Stay safe and recover soon 😎👍
You'll hear it in the next one, sounds gorgeous! I wanted to do a sound check there, but with all the children around, I didn't want to anger the parents or get kicked off the premises 🤣🤣
⁰
Not watched this yet will do so in bed later but I have one of these on order after a test ride I loved it and had to buy one as s second bike to replace my 390duke. Btw I've ordered one in white with quick shifter, wheel stickers, heated grips and the tank pad.
got laughed because you was filming ...some people have very good ears and hear alot ... 5....4 - we sayed #Handgepäck ✌️🍀
Yet another great video packed with information, quacking good scenery too makes a change from the normal. Any idea on the service intervals?
8000 mile service intervals.
That was a quacking good walk around (well from one side). The Hornet was an interesting airplane. I don't think I'll be above ground long enough to figure out all the settings on the new motorcycles. Take care and heal fast Kate.
❤sweet job
"stick around and stay tuned" I thought I was watching TMF for a second
Haha turns out he's the true influencer here LOL
Are 270 degree parallel twins as smooth running as a 90 degree V twin Kate ? I've never ridden one. My own 90 degree V twin has a bit of thud thud at idle, but when I get going it's totally smooth, no mirror blurring whatsoever.
Hey Katie r you ok hope you are feeling better soon looking forward to seeing you on a sportsbike soon wearing your new leathers and new swanky helmet and dark visor ride safe lovely 😂
Other than styling it wins hands down
the seat could be a bit softer but im also 6,2 but it rides smooth love the bike
Seems like a great bike. Yet to hear a bad review. 👍
Has it got a 'little wheelie but not fip you over' setting?
In Sport mode, it'll go up and stay there :)
I want one !
18:36 You tell 'em Kate.
You can get the CB650R for $9299 USA so that'll bet a tough sell. 650 is more premium IMO
Spot the rust on the back shock already......
You crack me up Kate!😅
"I am a 5' 4" HUMAN" who says that! 😂
You are a 5' 4" girl or I'm 5' 4" tall, don't get caught up in all this WOKE nonsense!
You can say "biker, girl, woman, female" whatever you want, don't let these WOKE lunatics force you into feeling you can't mention your gender, 'cos that's what it looks like to me.🤔
Love your videos, hope you are recovering from your spill and are back in the saddle soon! 👍
I usually say human as a piss take to try and convince you all that I'm not an alien 🤣 and you're barking up the wrong tree there Guy, I'm the least woke human you'll probably meet 😉
@@UsernameKate Ha, ha glad to hear that! 😀
@@Guy_Kerr Kate is a belter from the North of England. We don't do 'woke' up here. We like Kates to be Kates.
@@royevans4581 No-one, but NO-ONE likes 'Karens' with their know it all opinions that they force upon you.
The most overused word in the world woke 😴🦕
T for traction?
Torque according to Honda's manual but in real life terms, it's basically traction control.
Hornet wings? As far as I am concerned that is indeed marketing-blurb. But then I also do not get what that shirt is about. 🍶🍯🌰😂
I always thought that "T" stood for traction control?
So did I until I read the manual. I'm assuming its just Hondas name for it. torque control will have an impact on traction maybe! Very strange but hey ho!
@@UsernameKate My apologies, I just read the manual, and yes that what's it says, I do have one, great bike, but why do they change stuff........ cause when you ride it, if you loose traction. the torque control light comes on and power is cut off.......... So it is traction control
Great vids by the way. Keep it going
haha i think they just wanted to be 'different' LOL
Good looking bike, shame we can't buy Honda's here in my town, our Honda dealer is an absolute pig to females and have no clue what they are doing.
It's a cb500f with a different engine and dash, most parts are the same
Sun behind you isn’t the best
It is what it is
@@UsernameKate Your vids are usually very good. But "It is what it is" is not a great attitude, Kate. Don't take us for granted. This video is unfortunately not technically good this time and that is down to you.
@@UsernameKatefor the amount of videos you produce, you should know better and your comment doesn’t become you I’m afraid
Ha.. absolute jokes… yeah yeah and and the ducks are annoying too.. these people.. 😢😢
@ian owens - Hey, on reflection - I didn't mean for it to come across sarcastic or anything like that. Obviously it is quite disappointing when a video doesn't go the way you planned but I hoped there was enough useful content in there for it to perhaps be overlooked. This is unfortunately what happens when trying new equipment and sometimes not quite getting things right. We are all human after all. @obscura I do not take anyone for granted, I value my audience heavily. As above, I was just being matter of fact, did not mean to come across as sarcastic or uncaring. Apologies for the offence caused.
5tf 4 lady you mean?? Human lol
I must admit when this bike came out I said I will show my arse outside tescoif it was under 7k.
Personally parallel twins are boring and honda are normally boring I'd still go trident I think for the triple but kudos for honda for having this so cheap. I fear it will be come very popular and abit samey samey on the road
It's a joke with my mate, we laugh because it's like I'm trying to get across that I'm not alien 🤣 I think it's a belting price too. Not bothered if everything on the road looks the same as long as the rider is living their best life 💪
muhahahaha
I'm a man with a Wang.
The fuel tank is too small
So true as I'm in Australia😅.
I think I missed a video ....what happened to your finger??????????? :O
Hey Ontario!! I crashed on track and broke a few digits! I have no footage of it because it corrupted the file as my chin hit the deck! I did a community post on it but sorry if it didn't show for you!
@@UsernameKate HI UNK, no no. I wasn't trying to be funny as I know I really have missed a few of your videos.
Certainly no need to be sorry. I hope you are okay? Well, as okay as one can be with a few broken digits. 😮
How long will you be out of the riding game?
Take care!
I'm riding now a bit but don't tell the doctors 🤫😅
@@UsernameKate 😆
✌️😃👍
Where's the update?
What update sorry?
Nice review .. basically its a bike for midgets then ?!
Loving the undiluted simpage in the comments. You guys make me laugh.
What a cute voice you have.. :')
It's not a Hornet. Honda sopped manufacturing the proper Hornet after 2006. They are using the name in name only.
Don't get me wrong, the twin is a somewhat nice machine (hate the headlight), but it's just a CB750F, not a Hornet.
Who cares. It's just a dumb name.
i sat in one.i didnt impressed.i ll do and a test ride
All the extra accessories are well overpriced. We can get aftermarket parts for half or for a fourth of the price 😮
Do you reckon? 😱 price of the QS and Blipper shocked me. If I wanted one for my GS I'm looking at £500!
@@UsernameKate oh nice. Oxford heated grips £100
Oh yeah, I know Oxford Grips. They get a nice and hot too!
Philomena cunk on motorbikes😂
So that's $8700 USA dollar
The crowd and duck noises got annoying by the end.
you live and learn :)
looks ugly and bland but rides good. I will settle for a low powered z650 only because is a bike i could spend hours looking at and honda would only be a tool.
I hate the way so many of the new bikes are really high up in the air.
I mean, if I wanted to ride a dirt bike or an "adventure" bike, I would just buy one. Why does every other bike have to look like that too?
It's like they all caught the ugly "SUV-itis" that afflicts most modern cars.
Being stuck right up in the air does NOT mean better. 🙄
Boo Honda. Try harder. 👎😠
Definitely one of the ugliest engines I've ever set eyes on. The rest of the bike is ok.
Lovely vid, dont like the looks but the rest of the bike is good, dont know yet if i will change my cb650r which is in my opinon a better looking bike, i came of twins back on to fours because of thier smooth engine, so i will have a test ride soon but just might wieght for next yrs cb1000r instead , keep up the good work
You defo have to get a bike that you look back at when you fill it up! :)
@@UsernameKate not had that since my 1999 R1 in blue … maybe the MT10 a little bit I think they are all a bit the same 😮
@@UsernameKate went to Honda Swansea today to look at the cb650r hornet, and was disapointed it looks flimsy still an ugly bike and no rear mudguard on any of the bikes , I asked and was told that how the come, just think of all the grud that's going to be thrown up , still it made my mind up cant change my cb650r for some thing I would like to cover stickers to cover that ugly front end and sides of the tank , I'll waite till the new cb1000 comes out
Cute girl
It's always perplexed me that Honda can build bikes that on paper look so good, but in reality, with a few exceptions, are totally uninspiring to ride.
