So who coping the PS5 DualSense Edge Controller...also S/O to JB lol. But 5 controllers already is crazy...buddy definitely have thrown a few controllers...haha
@CKid TV When my 4th controller got stick drift, I finally got the dualsense edge controller. Now I'm looking at the controller saying get stick drift. I dare you 😅
Everyone says this and yet I've been through 3 controllers in a year and a half, that's half a year per controller! My ps4 dual sense lasted me 7 YEARS!!!!!! It still works! We haven't changed Sony has and as a result I would never buy the pro in a million years! I will buy literally anything else! They don't put quality parts on the pro they make them easily removable, so they can sell us their shoddy analogue sticks every 6 months! It costs the same as the best mouses and keyboards on the market that have 1 to 5 year warranties 😮 suddenly they forgot how to make controllers they can take all the useless features away and just make a durable one I'd be happy🙄 Screw Sony 100%
Guys it's a freakin PRO CONTROLLER and as pro controllers are supposed to be played competitively and have some basic stuff to play at low latency is to play cabled and then you don't need to worry about battery life.
This controller should have been standard with the PS5. The fact that my PS 1, 2, 3, & 4 controllers are STILL working, WITHOUT ANY STICK DRIFT (not the PS1), shows me that it is a DESIGN FLAW, and EVERYONE should be DEMANDING a RECALL on these useless paper weights. I'm not saying someone should be falling on their sword over the issue, but there should be some manner of recourse. The standard controllers for PS5 are the WORST in the industry. Furthermore, the fact that they designed the Edge with replaceable thumb sticks is even more proof that the standard Dualsense has a TERRIBLE design flaw that should be RECALLED and refunds or replacements should be given.
the fact you can replace the joysticks when they get stickdrift makes this a great investment. plus you basically get a scuf. and if you get stickdrift- replace joysticks and keep your controller.
Who wants to be tied down to a cable. To me I prefer longer battery life. When you rock headphone or earbuds do you prefer wired or wireless? I'm assuming wireless...so why not the same can be for a controller? Just curious
@@CKidM I don't mind being tied to a 20ft cable when I'm playing games. It's not like I'm gonna be cooking or shitting in another room, ima be playing games a few feet from the TV/monitor. It's not just him a lot of people have drift on all their controllers just from playing. I have it on all 4 of mine and I was rotating them. Never had this issue with PS4 controllers
PS5 controllers are thee WORST in the industry. A $70 controller, outside of the 6mo. Warranty costs $80-$150 to repair (according to Playstation), because of a TERRIBLE design flaw which they are WELL aware of, that THEY should be held to account for. Yes, I'm talking about the HORRIFIC stick drift. 6 out of 6 of my Dualsense controllers, (two black ones that are fairly new which I also prefer over the black and white ones), ALL have the most FRUSTRATING stick drift. The battery on these is ALSO terrible. But the stick drift is just plain UNACCEPTABLE. After spending thousands of dollars on PS5 consoles for family, friends, and myself, the very least they could do is replace these garbage paper weights.
I have been using the controller since it came out. The main problem I have found is that in the last 6 months, I have broke the back paddle seat on 2 controllers. My be how I play, I use the left back paddle for jump. And what I mean about the seat is the port that the paddle goes into can break free from the controller. The warranty is a must.
I've been using the PS5 DualSense Edge for about 2 weeks now and it was definitely worth the purchase for me. I mainly use it on my PS3 to play Battlefield 3 which still keeps the functions of the button remapping as long you own a PS5 to do the remapping. My only gripe is what you said in the video about the battery life but also you cant remap the share button, touchpad or start button as you can only disable them. It would be nice if they can provide a future update to remap those buttons or to map a share button to another button. In battlefield 3 the select button is used to spot enemies so it would be more useful to remap it on R1 or L3 etc.
I still have a fully functional SIXXAXIS and a couple of dualsense 4s that still have no problems. My launch day Dualsenses shipped from Sony, 1 has a L2 that if a hair touches it, it presses - and the other has a right stick that has possession level drift. The software settings available on the dualsense edge would fix these problems --- but sony chooses to not provide them to owners of the regular controller, despite these manufacturing defects. To me, that screams class action. I'm not paying $400 to replace two broken controllers.
Thank you. Like a software fix for this, i.e. adding a simple deadzone/calibration tool on the system, would be a half-assed approach to addressing this issue. The fact they have paywalled controller config settings behind a $250 controller is fucking brain melting.
200 dollars seems like a rip off though. Im almost certain the price will drop in the future and is just high just to take advantage of people. I havent heard 1 feature thats worth 200 dollars. At most thing is sounds like its worth 100. Games come with controller settings so ive never had an issue needing to remap buttons each time i open a new game since games save your settings individually. Analog sticks comfortable enough and dont need to swap for different types, so what gives?
Can we stop justifying billion dollar companies selling us overpriced products that have issues with known solutions and demand better Instead? I'm honestly shocked at how many people are making excuses for not having better battery life and hall effect sticks at this price range.
The most crucial aspect of this controller is the fact that you can replace joystick units once they eventually get stick drift. So instead of having to go out and buy a brand new 70dollar controller, you can just replace the joystick mechanisms. So that's what I'm very curious about. You should play hard until u develop some drift. Then replace and see how it does. So ya CKid, your fam needs that 1year after review. Because if I'm paying for this this over the scuff controllers (which you can't replace joysticks) I want to know if the joystick replacement is actually good. I've had to buy 3 new 70.00 controllers. Just from stick drift. So I'd buy the edge if it's actually worth it.
"Instead of buying a controller with fixed joysticks, I can buy one with defective joysticks and keep buying new defective ones to replace them with when they inevitably fail!" The apologetics and rationalizing from people on behalf of these companies selling shitty overpriced products with issues that shouldn't exist at that price range WHEN THOSE ISSUES HAVE FIXES is ridiculous. Should've never had this whole swappable thumbstick mess. Give us hall effects and put a bigger battery in. But instead they created another problem for a fix to a different problem they created
Just came across your channel and I am impressed, very well put together and great info. Could you do another video with the best settings for the deadzones/thumbsticks etc for different types of games, mainly CoD 💪🏻
I had my controller for about 2 months and yes they still have stick drift i play Competitive fortnight This is also my 5th controller That's why I went with the edge but I am Is still having the same issues stick drift I'm just glad the replacement toggles are $20
Bro, let me tell you as an electronic technician myself, as a son of an electrical engineer that is also an electronic technician and industrial engineer: the reason why is literally impossible to fix the stick drif forever is simplsy because it is impossible to guarantee a 100% failure proof product. An electronical problem, under the technical definition of solution, can only be considered fixed, if you can guarantee absolute 0% chance of happening again. And when you're dealing with objects/engines/electric components that have movable parts --specially tiny ones--, that is simply a percentage of assurance that is virtually impossible to attain.
Of course battery life should matter. The controller is $200… paying $200 should have better battery life. Also those saying just plug it in…. Idk everyone’s age ranges on here but playing games since the 1980s everything was plugged in all the way till Xbox 360 (I know some 3rd party prior to 2005 had wireless but it wasn’t standard). Breaking free from the cord was huge for us. I could care less about latency 🤣
You are absolutely correct. I felt the same way. I love it when I’m playing adventure games or any game that showcases the haptics and cool features of the dualsense.
I've had my PS5 for like 4 months-ish and already had to buy a new controller due to the drift. The new basic controller got here today and is ALREADY fucking doing it. I may need to look into getting an aftermarket controller.
I just need Sony to make it pc friendly, not that I have to buy a third party app for it to work. For me it’s a win because I been through 3 Xbox elite series 2 controllers because of stick drift so being able to swap the sticks is awesome.
Yeah, I don't even have a PS5 but I love the dualsense controllers. I use them on both my PC and even my Xbox (with a Wingman XB) as I find them way more comfortable than Xbox controllers. My main worry is whether the function buttons would work on PC. I don't think they would and I'm not sure if it's worth the price without them. Maybe it still is for the back buttons and swappable thumbsticks, though, I'm not really sure tbh. My brother has a PS5 that I could use to set it up the first time but I'd only really want to do that once.
And go to options and mute the mic as default. Also mute de speaker. No one uses the mic on that thing. Especially not people spending this much money on a controler. They have good headsets already
Why you hate PlayStation? It’s literally the best system you can buy, has the best tech, definitely the best games lol I mean the series x is a good console and the elite series 2 is my favorite controller of all time but what’s all that stuff if there’s literally no games? Every great game on Xbox you can play on PlayStation except for gears of war and halo.
My Bruh great review! I bought used for 150 so I'm hoping the price stays premium so I can feel good. Was tired of dealing with drift so I hope this is the answer. But way more controller than I need. I just wish it was heavier and metallic feeling like the elite 2. You know that is no regular controller when you hold it.
Didn't see your first video but as a 2 week owner of this remote I can tell you you can store more than 4 layout's for different games. They have an assigned and unassigned option. As someone who reviews products you should probably do better research before giving feedback to your community. Also stick drift is going to occur eventually from wear and tear over thousands of hours. And pro gamers will tell you it's unavoidable no matter the brand. Sony essentially fixed that problem. Saying that's a negative is a bias opinion and should be taken with a grain of salt. Do better bro.
I feel you with the raging part & you wanna move around the room, but the Sony edge is 100times than the Xbox elite 2, so the cable isn’t really a big deal to me.
so this is basically a wired controller XD What they should have done was to go for the hall sensors that doesnt get stickdrift and ditched that stupid joystick contraption and put a bigger battery in there
I’ve never heard of hall sensor until your comment I went and did some research. 👍 I just ordered a replacement controller. The drift is so annoying. Is there a compatible hall sensor controller for PS5?
@@KefashWhite there is some controllers for the switch and PC who uses the hall sensors but haven't seen one for PS5. Sony took a massive L not including them in the edge controller
@@dante19890 why would they bother? You guys keep buying these controller either way. And reviews are nothing but positive. Sony has no reason to even think about Hal sensors
I like the controller a lot. One of my favorite things is the option to have dome sticks similar to ps1-3. I’m not a fan of the concave ps4 and ps5 sticks. Also if the battery dies you can plug it into the wall or a portable charger, you don’t have to plug it into the system which is what I originally thought. So it’s not that bad.
@@vitorfernandes651 you don't get it! Us ponies haven't had a controller like this that's 1st party! Closest we got was the paddles for DualShock4! I'm a "Pony" and a "XBOT" who says this btw! Not fanboying or anything but if you can afford this controller, it's 100% worth it! Just saying.
Stick drift can be fixed, I mean look at Xbox. I’ve had the same Xbox one controller for 3-4 years now for my pc and it’s still perfect Sony just sucks with their controllers since at least ps3 But I’ll tell you what, ps5 controller is just so comfy
I’ll mostly get the controller for the paddles and trigger stoppers I could go get a $300 controller with mouse click triggers but why would I spend an extra hundred when I don’t even take the fps games I play all that serious
I know I’m late to the party but the all Black version would be a take my money Sony situation 😂 I just got my PS5 this week, and I had to buy the black dualsense after the first couple of days…
Just a FYI, if your experiencing any type of issues with the controller and it is within the 1 year factory warranty, Sony will replace the entire controller. Just call customer service. I got my one replaced because of stick drift issues. The service was fast, I just only paid for shipping my controller in.
And if past the warranty or no proof of purchase to do the Sony thing, order another same color one from amazon. Receive package open box swap controllers close box, initiate return, take package to return center to process, get back your refund, enjoy your drift free controller 👌🏾 lol
hey nice video. I've had my duel sense edge for a couple weeks now and at first I hated only having 2 paddles but I've adjusted. I use an elite series 2 on my xbox and it blows my mind how much better the battery life is on that thing... kinda a head scratch from Sony on that one. The elite series 2 is plagued with issues though, I think I'm on my 4th or 5th one (Best Buy warranty). So I'll take the worse battery life and only 2 paddles for a controller that will actually last! I'll take a video of your controller setup btw. cheers man
That's what everyone keeps telling me is how good the battery life is on the Elite 2 controller...I have to try that out. Damn really? I didn't think the Elite Series controller would be that bad to where you have to be on your 4th or 5th one...that's trash. You not selling me on it bro haha. Smart idea on taking a video of the controller settings. Will do. Appreciate you watching
GameStop has $10 off the controller for Black Friday for anyone who's thinking about getting one I just bought one and love it... If you use GameStop enough you probably already have some coupons off if you're a pro member I had about 10 so I got another $10 off the controller.
I went to through 3 God damn duelsense controllers all suffer from drift now I am getting this edge I am guessing I will go through stick modules every now and then at least little cheaper than getting new controller
Still really been enjoying mine, yeah the battery kinda wack, but the rest of it is it! Do wish the front plate was mat and not gloss though. And I don't mind the price overall, Scuf charges 200 on the cheap end and you don't get much, then you tryina upgrade the Scuf, it costs an easy 50-100 bucks more.
Yea it's a solid controller...really if they can give us a better battery life and an all black option it would be so dope. Yea in the grand scheme of everything I agree $200 is not bad considering what you're getting and that it's native to the console itself.
I’m mad bro. Just bought a PS5 and literally two weeks later the controller is pure stick drift. Does Sony build in a planned obsolescence? An artificially limited useful life or a purposely frail design so that I have to keep buying expensive controllers? Samsung washers are the same way. Seems like a good topic for a video.
Yes you find a lot of these complaints online... I always wash my hands before playing and still the rubber grips are slightly yellow even though I wipe the controller with a microfiber cloth and warm water (sometimes even with diluted dishwasher soap). However in comparison to what I've seen online my grips are still pretty white 😅 Anyway the grips and the battery life are my two main complaint points other than that Iove my Dual Sense Edge Controller!
Yeah that’s what I also hate on this controller. I’ve been having mine for a week now and I always have to clean it every after use so that it doesn’t get that yellow tint.
I don't really get how an 8 hour battery is bad. If anyone is playing longer than that they need to touch some grass. And between game sessions just charge the controller...
Yea i agree. I dont like the battery life of the edge but controller has other features that are awesome. Sony has to fix that battery life for real and improve their PS customer sales service. Their csr are rude but i love sony and playstation. So sony should work on those issues.
Awesome video bro keep up the good work, nice explanation. This controller still fire 🔥 I been doing some deep dive testing of all the features and it’s crazy what this controller can do. But great video God Bless
Yea bro this controller is the wave for sure...I just need them to fix the battery life...but I think I might've found a way to extend the battery life on it...still testing. Will update
@@CKidM yeah I have been testing that too to extend the battery life, but also been testing those different thumbsticks sensitivity and so far I can say is wow awesome and once people actually dive into it it’s a whole different experience
the only real issue with the controller is the compatibility with pc if they added the software as a pc app and made every game recognize it itd be a 10/10
No I have it facing the front side...I just have custom plates on it as well as a custom skin and lights across the front of it. I did a video awhile back that you can check out.
Saw a video from a MLB the show player saying this controller has less input lag than the regular controller. If that's true then that should be one of, if not the best feature of the controller.
Jusy saying ps5 stick drift is cause they allowed anything you clean it with to get into the joysticks just by rubbing alcohol over the tiny speakers. Truth!
Probably a really dumb question, but does the controller customization with adaptive triggers allow adaptive triggers tj work on games that don’t feature that support? Or in simpler terms, if I’m playing a game from ps4 generation can I use this controller to have adaptive triggers for those games?
I've spent almost 300 dollars on ps5 controllers since I've gotten my ps5 everyone in my friend group I know have spent about the same on ps5 controllers never once threw it controller or give give up from usage, and you know how I know it has nothing to do with me it's because all of my controllers have the same issue stick drift so that alone let's me know its not me.

FACTS! Please say this louder for the people in the back.
🔥 I’m a casual gamer, spending $200 for a controller that won’t enhance my limited game play skill is not a smart investment 😂
Lol...that's why I said in the video..."if you were trash before this controller you will still be trash afterwards" 🤣
@@CKidM Best advice given in 2023 concerning this controller 🤣😂
I feel like the haptics are WAY stronger in the Edge compared to the regular dual sense.
Todays my birthday and my girlfriend surprised me with this controller. I’m excited to get it when it’s delivered!
Aye sounds like she is a keeper my friend lol
$200 and stick drift STILL AN ISSUE. Sony is full of it on this one. Pass.
Preach
@@oscarjenkins7505 they do work, if you map them on ds4windows
You gotta dim down the brightness of the controller light for longer battery time
That's a nice tip...I'll try that.
And go to options and mute the mic as default. Also mute de speaker. No one uses the mic on that thing. Especially not people spending this much money on a controler. They have good headsets already
@@vitorfernandes651 and turn off vibration
I absolutely hate everything PlayStation, but I gotta admit you killed that rap about the DualSense Edge, as expected 👊🏾
Lol why you hate PlayStation so much
Why you hate PlayStation?
Gotta rage fam lol
@@CKidM on ufc4 it’s a must 💀
so this is basically a wired controller XD
What they should have done was to go for the hall sensors that doesnt get stickdrift and ditched that stupid joystick contraption and put a bigger battery in there
I’ve never heard of hall sensor until your comment I went and did some research.
No.
@@vitorfernandes651 personally I dont buy things I dont think is good enough. This is one of those cases
This is huge for me. The concave ones are actually hurting my thumbs but the dome ones make the pain disappear.
Definitely underrated. I like that too. OG’s know what’s up
I don’t get it. You needed a 200 dollar controller for that? Kontrol freeks are like 8 dollars
Plugging into the wrong charger can ruin a battery
Stick drift can be fixed, I mean look at Xbox. I’ve had the same Xbox one controller for 3-4 years now for my pc and it’s still perfect
Sony just sucks with their controllers since at least ps3
But I’ll tell you what, ps5 controller is just so comfy
Goat review bro
Appreciate that my guy!
Do it got stick drift? ALL I CARE ABOUT
I’ll mostly get the controller for the paddles and trigger stoppers I could go get a $300 controller with mouse click triggers but why would I spend an extra hundred when I don’t even take the fps games I play all that serious
All black options will be nice battery life not a major issue for the specs since I got it my gameplay improved
Had a similar problem with the original controller on launch, battery lasted most 3 hours, now 12, with updates I think it can get better
I was incorrect the battery is shite
Lmao
As somone who preferes wired headsets the battery life of this controller is not an issue to me
Do you have to order online or can you find at retailers like best buy?
You can scoop it up at Best Buy - bestbuy.7tiv.net/oqebP9
I know I’m late to the party but the all Black version would be a take my money Sony situation 😂 I just got my PS5 this week, and I had to buy the black dualsense after the first couple of days…
I thought wireless was a gimmick that nobody actually used… i thought everyone just used wires lol
Man I hate using wires....although I know you get the best latency but I don't care...I wanna be wireless so I can rage lol
I love the controller,it help me bring up my KD in multiple multi-player games, absolutely the end all of ps5 controllers
Aye that means you wasn't trash before the controller! lol. What's your KD at? You over 1.0?
is it good for fifa
Just a FYI, if your experiencing any type of issues with the controller and it is within the 1 year factory warranty, Sony will replace the entire controller. Just call customer service. I got my one replaced because of stick drift issues. The service was fast, I just only paid for shipping my controller in.
And if past the warranty or no proof of purchase to do the Sony thing, order another same color one from amazon. Receive package open box swap controllers close box, initiate return, take package to return center to process, get back your refund, enjoy your drift free controller 👌🏾 lol
@crazykenbei Your openly promoting theft and fraud... I bet your mother and father are real proud...
hey nice video.
Better input if it’s plugged in for COD. My battery has never died, always plugged in
GameStop has $10 off the controller for Black Friday for anyone who's thinking about getting one I just bought one and love it...
Yeah I forgot to mention the warranty is a month must if you get it at GameStop I got a year warranty so I'll just replace it in a year lol
I guess for battery reasons just buy two controllers. I know it's expensive but if you like it and the battery ain't for you or corded remote
Look at you rich guy
Right...like who got money to buy 2 pro controllers lol. Naw I'll just charge up the 1 I got. lol
Please do the settings video 😊 am mainly a cod guy
but
rpg games too
I would love to see a video of your COD controller setup
I got you.
CKid Ty for your video and time! I prefer all black and sleek as well.
💯
Still really been enjoying mine, yeah the battery kinda wack, but the rest of it is it! Do wish the front plate was mat and not gloss though. And I don't mind the price overall, Scuf charges 200 on the cheap end and you don't get much, then you tryina upgrade the Scuf, it costs an easy 50-100 bucks more.
Yea it's a solid controller...really if they can give us a better battery life and an all black option it would be so dope. Yea in the grand scheme of everything I agree $200 is not bad considering what you're getting and that it's native to the console itself.
That’s the only thing that’s bothering me: The gloss. I absolutely hate gloss things 🥹🥹😂
There's a rug in the garage...
😂. 🔥Video!
LOL
I have 3 controllers with drift so I bought also the pro controller now enough of that bad joysticks
I have my ps5 since launch day. 2 years and 4 months. Never had drift or any issues. And I use the Dualsense also on pc and switch emulator
The problema is the rubber grip. After just a few days of hardcore playing those rubber parts developed yellowish tint.
Yes you find a lot of these complaints online...
I always wash my hands before playing and still the rubber grips are slightly yellow even though I wipe the controller with a microfiber cloth and warm water (sometimes even with diluted dishwasher soap).
However in comparison to what I've seen online my grips are still pretty white 😅
Anyway the grips and the battery life are my two main complaint points other than that Iove my Dual Sense Edge Controller!
Yeah that’s what I also hate on this controller. I’ve been having mine for a week now and I always have to clean it every after use so that it doesn’t get that yellow tint.
Im buying this for shooting games and adventure games only and will get another controller for fighting games.
I don't really get how an 8 hour battery is bad. If anyone is playing longer than that they need to touch some grass. And between game sessions just charge the controller...
Does the controller charge up while playing and you can unplug and continue wireless?
Yes
Yea i agree. I dont like the battery life of the edge but controller has other features that are awesome. Sony has to fix that battery life for real and improve their PS customer sales service. Their csr are rude but i love sony and playstation. So sony should work on those issues.
The price is craaaaaaazzy. It should have 4 paddles on the back. it should be BLACK!
the touchpad should be more customizable. 8/10
@@CraytonTv Facts
the only real issue with the controller is the compatibility with pc if they added the software as a pc app and made every game recognize it itd be a 10/10
I just got one is it any good.
I'm just sitting here waiting for a 1st/3rd party PS5 controller with Hall sensors.
4 paddle on the back and I’m sold but 2??? Not buying it yet
Does the 2 extra ones not get in the way?
@@CKidM at first it takes some getting used to. But once you rest the fingers there it’s so good, it literally changed my whole game.
Have you got your PS5 around the other way coz it looks different and mine
No I have it facing the front side...I just have custom plates on it as well as a custom skin and lights across the front of it. I did a video awhile back that you can check out.
The battery life doesn’t bother me much but I’ve been charging it for 3hrs and the second I took it off, it shows I only have 2 bars of battery life
Love the controller but the back button slots need to be reinforced my left slot broke and sits loose. Can't find a place to buy the part.
Dope video #Room21LETS GOOOOOO!!!
Lets get it!
@@CKidM btw I iOrdered 1 only because u convinced me in this video
Had my ps5 4 months and I have drift in my controller.
2:11 that’s your problem because you game on a living room tv if you had a desk with a gaming monitor your remote dying wouldn’t be an issue
Saw a video from a MLB the show player saying this controller has less input lag than the regular controller. If that's true then that should be one of, if not the best feature of the controller.
Was it on his channel? or was it a sponsored Sony ad?
Thank you for your input . Love the video just got my dual sense edge controller today ...
Jusy saying ps5 stick drift is cause they allowed anything you clean it with to get into the joysticks just by rubbing alcohol over the tiny speakers. Truth!
7 weeks and I love this controller but battery life is short. Sony include a long changing cable.
I work, played dead island 2, mw2, god rag, stray, horizon 1-2
Probably a really dumb question, but does the controller customization with adaptive triggers allow adaptive triggers tj work on games that don’t feature that support? Or in simpler terms, if I’m playing a game from ps4 generation can I use this controller to have adaptive triggers for those games?
Yes as long as the game supports the adaptive triggers. Like for example Ghost of Tsushima supports adaptive triggers and it works with dualsense edge
Good show bro👍👍, just subbed🔥🔥🔥.
Thanks fam! 🙏🏾 Welcome to the squad
Does it not have mouse clicks? Is that even worth having mouse clicks I just wonder cause I mainly play warzone
You can change the trigger travel with the slider on the back to get like a mouse click.
That's wild...yea Sony has to fix that issue overall to me.
Is there a grip on the controller or is it just plastic.
Scuf instict pro uses superb grip quality.
