- NeedleJuice Records just released the lossless version of Light & Night, so I figured I’d upload it here to the ‘tubes
- Lyrics -
We ought to leave a light on, leave a light on, underneath the moon
Sitting in the sight of every eye
I believe in you
Open your window, look out and see me
Slow I am coming a long way to be
An accidental light on
Such as I am, by the lonely sun
Ever is the light on, is the light on
Ever meant to run
Cold but I'm outside and waiting to see
Blowing the snow coming closer to me
Tonight I'm arriving alive and alight
Tonight all the black, and the gray and the white
And I want to be like you are the one light
I want to see your eyes looking back and into mine
Better when the light comes in the night-time opening the door
Hoping to be right, it's open every night. So whatcha waiting for?
Open your window look out and see me
Slow I am coming a long way to be
Tonight I'm arriving alive and alight
Tonight all the black and the gray and the white
And I want to be like you are the one light. I want to see your eyes looking back and into mine
Something is real. Maybe not. Something is gone. Something is here. Only thought. All that you want. Everything else will follow

This song seems like it would fit so well after The Trap. I can't explain it, it just fits.
I'd say they both feel like they'd fit seasons in some way.
@@wyguyagainYeah. Both albums really do represent seasons to me. Good & Evil is more of a Autumn/Winter kind of album, while MMMM feels more like a Spring/Summer album.
@@genderedgirl Oo yeah
I didn’t have the slightest idea about this song’s existence, glad to know there’s more Tally Hall to listen around.
I love how you can just BARELY hear record surface noise
I love this song so much. It reminds me of winter time. I first heard it on a cloudy winter night where the snow was slowly falling and everyone was too cold to be outside.
One of my most vivid memories with this song was one night I was walking home, late winter, the moon was bright and reflecting off the snow. I was on a little walking trail that weaved through some trees, it looked so pretty that night.
It's a small detail, but I absolutely LOVE the harmonizing flutes during the chorus, that has to be one of my favorite sounds EVER!!! I can't tell if they're real flutes or Mellotron flutes, but I love the sound regardless!!!

Tally Hall is always unique in their span of various genres they cover but, this one, in particular, sounds so unlike anything else I’ve heard of them.
I was checking out Chonny Jash's version of Light & Night. I really thought that this was his original song! I never knew this was also another tally hall song! This sounds so calming.
Yeah! If I’m correct, the song was originally made for a cd that came with the book, The Magician’s Elephant, when it was initially released. This single is the first time it’s studio version has been officially released since then I think

When you’re happy, you listen to the music. When you’re sad, you understand the lyrics.
When you light, you night.
this is the most mother mother tally hall song I've ever heard
This should have been the last track on good and evil instead of fate of the stars. It sort of acts as tally hall saying goodnight to their career, giving a rest. I will buy this vinyl now.
as much as i like this song, i gotta say fate of stars is a pretty damn good final song.
I've been thinking of this recently.
It's technically track 0
It wasnt written for G&E tho
@@Rugjhma it was, just only released recently
Every now and then I'm recommended this song by youtube and am reminded of how good it is.
This song would fit perfectly on Good and Evil, I know it's on the repress but still.
i mean, it would fit the theme of "&" and "Turn The Lights Off"
it also has that more serious tone most Good & Evil songs have, unlike the funner, less serious tone that Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum had.
Isn’t it technically part of Good and Evil at this point? Yea I know it’s a promo for Magicians Elephant, but it’s relation with Turn the Lights Off, the fact it’s in the repress, and Genius lyric says so, it basically is a Good and Evil song.
It’s barely on the repress, it’s the pregap track, which most cd players cant even play
