I am an American expat from New York and although I work in Amsterdam I have always lived in Haarlem. I visited this wonderful city ten years ago before moving to the Netherlands for work and it is an absolute gem of a city! I like it better than Amsterdam for its beauty and it is a perfect balance of everything that represents the Dutch culture. Zaandvort beach is just a bike ride away through the beautiful dunes and Amsterdam and schipol are both a 15 min train ride away! You cannot beat this city for its location and beauty and culture.
when I visited netherland. on the way to denhaag from amsterdam. I watch this beautiful town passing by through the window of a train. I regretted not going there. but I feel I finally visited this town for this video. thank you very much.
Excellent video- my wife and I will travel to Amsterdam in April but will be staying in Haarlem. You walked within a few blocks of our address. It's very helpful to get our bearings from the station- it will probably be late when we arrive- and this will help us to get a rough idea of what to expect. Also good to see some places where we might have dinner/drinks, i'm looking forward to checking out the Dutch beer scene... thanks!
Thank you, Brigitte! For now there are enough walks to post 2 x per week until end of 2020. Then we'll see how it goes. I sure wanted to see more of Italy and the Caucasus, now hopefully in 2021
👍Love how calm and peaceful it is, even before Corona. Looks like a lovely city. I also enjoy hearing the conversations. I don't understand them but it's cool to hear the language. Thanks so much -Henry
Thanks for your work! Very nice! It must be difficult to keep the attention of people on yourself when you walk with a camera. It would be nice to see the temperature and seasons at the beginning of the video. P.S: 23:07, 50:40 +1 =)
If you want to get fancy, some subtitles would help (showing street names for example, or names of the sights). Or not... I'm going back and forth with a googleMap trying to figure out where you are. Thanks again!
Sure, I know that this would enhance the videos. My tests with captions like ruclips.net/video/98tkopJSTmI/видео.html however do not show an effect on the views. With around 130 videos that I post per year the efforts would not pay off. Some channels do well with just fewer videos and all captions. I prefer to travel to many places instead of working on the computer for now. Maybe something new will come up later... Thanks for watching
I record these videos with a DJI Osmo Pocket and also use a Zoom H1 microphone for the audio. Both devices are connected with a powerbank so the battery lasts for longer filming
It's nice, but it’s just like any other Dutch city. I notice that people park or "drop" their cycles anywhere, to the point of preventing pedestrians from crossing the sidewalks of many streets. That’s very civic and ecological. 38:22 BTW, it wasn’t Sunday!! It seemed so, because of that "calm" (boring) atmosphere ...
Believe me, it's NOT like any other Dutch city (I'm a 34 year old native Dutchman). It's maybe like every other city in 'De Randstad' (western part of NL, where all the big cities are, most populair part), but then only compared to the more beautiful ones. Compare this to any other city in the rest of NL (Tilburg, Eindhoven, Heerlen, etc.) and you'll see Haarlem truly shines.
Bedankt voor deze wandeling door mijn favoriete stad!!

Hi Daniel! We are so glad you created these walks before the VIRUS attack!

Thank you Henry! Dutch is indeed some fun language. I also like listening to people talking there
It’s a great city. Recently moved there from Amsterdam. And Amsterdam is only 15 minutes away.

@@poptravelorg Absolutely understand... I've got a bunch of footage walking through Arles that I don't know what to do with.
Nice city. I'd say the equivalent city in the UK would be Norwich.
Do the Harlem Shake 😂😂😂😂
was that recorded with hero go pro or camera
