I left Haarlem for Colorado 42 years ago. Thanks for the trip through memory lane.
One interesting tidbit is that I enjoyed you walking through Korte Houtstraat. It was just yesterday that I sent a 100-year old photo to my siblings in Holland and in Australia of our grandfather proudly standing in front of his small business at Korte Houtstraat 24. Time Travel.

9:22: Café Brinkman at the left. After the 20 minutes walk from the railway-station it is a good starting point to have a cappuccino before visiting the Frans Hals Museum and Teylers Museum.
