@The Traveler: I would like to ask in regard to the homes that are built. They all seem large and having a number of floors. Are these large residences single or multi-family dwellings?
- Also, I gather heating is by method of firewood, although I am sure other methods are also available. Why than are there so much open grass land is this one of the reason's for it?
- With such narrow and almost seemingly inescapable areas to pull aside from for other cars to pass by, are fewer cars seen being driven in Lauterbrunnen? Is there room for others to pass by?
- Does Switzerland restrict migrants who would like to reside permanently there?
It is a gorgeous place. It is equally beautiful here in BC, Canada having the picturesque view of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

Я был недавно там и быстренько смылся домой в Германию!) Страна с синдромом ОКР! 1000 правил и странных законов. Колесил пол дня и знал где остановится отдохнуть,.. везде всё запрещено и тесно как то. На ночь еле нашёл большой паркплац в университете на женевском озере но в 3" ночи тарабаня в дверь и светом от фонарика нас разбудили; - жена орала как резаная от страха,.. ну и прогнали от туда - пришлось ехать до франции, что бы нормально поспать. Короче если едем на юг, то быстренько проезжаем Свицерланд без остановки.

I second that Algene.. To me, Lauterbrunnen is one of the most stunning nature landscape in Europe.
Reminds me of Yosemite Valley-only with fondue, alphorns, and lots of yodeling.. This is what paradise looks like in my dreams.

I've been blessed to visit there many times, and it's indescribable. It is a jewel and so stunning to get up in the morning and breathe the fresh mountain air.
Going in off season and even in winter is outstanding. Lauterbrunen is a wonderful place to experience and being tucked away with its unique geographic beauty, it forever leaves an imprint in your memory and soul. 💕

I can understand why people i.e. Shania Twin and Tina Turner have taken permanent residence there as their privacy is respected and they can (could) live(d) a normal life.
Totally agree it is a wonderful place. We as a family where there in July 2022 on the campside. Did not made a Walking tour...yet😅. Will plan in in near future!

It is really beautiful. We were lucky to have once walked the opposite direction from the deep of the valley outward to the entrance where we parked our car before taking the cable car reaching the top village, then taking another route downhill, passing nice villages along the way. It took us almost 4 hours to finish that whole trip and we were all exhausted at the end. But it really was worth of all those.
