You're not kidding. In fact, the movies and game have prompted me to finally read some GoTG comics (on Marvel Unlimited). Such a bunch of great characters. And I'm sure that I'm not the only one who has become a big fan like this. Feige was a genius for betting on them when he initially planned out the MCU. Now, if only he had as much faith in the Inhumans. Still kinda mad at Black Bolt's cameo in MoM...

I used the huddle in the final fight with Raker and it played Never Gonna Give You Up in a really cinematic way and it was amazing

I have to be honest.. when first hearing about the huddle, I thought it was stopping the combat for no reason....
Boooooy I haven't been so excited to be so wrong in a really long time! The commitment to the soundtrack is one of my favorite things about this game. Following the small talk banter back and forth with the characters. The writing was great, and rarely felt like it was being flarking forced up your scathole!
Surprise of the year for me
As soon as I saw Quill's Dazzler poster, I freaked out. One of the first outright X-Men references in years. Imagine if they make an X-Men game that plays like GotG, but let's you customize your team like in Legends.
I mean insomniac is making a Wolverine one, not x-men but they’re getting there. Maybe.
I legitimately can't believe how much I loved this game.
I think it's worth mentioning they made a whole album for the Star Lord band and it's an absolute banger

With the Guardians being my fav Marvel team (tied with the F4), it makes me so happy that this is the one to win the fans over after the disastrous Avengers game! Gonna try my best to get this ASAP, but I'll most likely have to wait till Christmas 😅🙃 #studentbudget
This game really was the perfect GOTG game
When the music hits and you start feeling it just like Quill is it really hits that flow state of gaming where it feels like you are the character in game.
The special move layouts make sense once you unlock all 4: On PS, Triangle is the AOE attack for every guardian, Circle is the stagger attack, Square is crowd control and X is a single(ish) target attack. It starts out weird because Groots starts with the crowd control move, Drax starts with the stagger move, and so on.
Why does this version of Peter/Star Lord look so much like Scott from Pentatonix?
Absolutely ready to watch this video, fucking love this game so much! I can go on and on how much I love the characters , banter on the ship in between missions, Mantis, ugh.

edit : The bugs are pretty hilarious man… I completed chapter 7 and after the cut scene it took me right back to the menu and forgot that I completed it and I had to do the whole thing over 🤣
This version of the Guardians is closer to the comics than the movies. It literally doesn't deviat from anything aside from aesthetic.

Went into this game expecting a boring dull game like the spiderman games, but i was blown away by the story and gameplay, it was far more than i expected
I played this game just now that it’s now on game pass for Xbox, and I’ve got to say, it’s one of the best video game experiences I’ve had in a very long time. Absolutely loved the hell out of this game
This game surprised so much and I honestly believe that this was a better adaptation (both in "comic accuracy" and all round quality) than the films (not hating on the films at all btw because it is a fantastic adaptation and both movies are brilliant). The gameplay was a but repetitive, but these versions of the characters and the story was soooo good that it never felt boring.
Also its great to see a certain character get some love out side the comics especially because he is within my top 3 favourite Marvel characters and he was executed to perfection. Edios Montreal better be working on a game for him next.
There is a legit Wolverine game coming out in the near future... You might just get your wish for a cross over! :D

At first I wasn’t getting the game cause I wasn’t a fan of just controlling Star-Lord, but after watching more gameplay walkthroughs it grew on me. I got the game and I love these Guardians more. Following reason are that their power set are increased, I like this peter quill’s reason for not going back to Earth cause he has no family left, Drax revenge story against Thanos is actually realized, and much more.

I expected Marvel's Avengers to be exactly like this, I had played the demo at gamescom which was just the intro. And the intro mission is just so good, it made me have faith in it, But then they talked about multiplayer, so I figured the game would play like Guardians does, but instead of AI team mates other players could join as other heroes. THATS what I hoped for with the Avengers game, thats what I thought it was going to be! But it wasn't sadly. But since Avengers had some moments that were filled to the brim with potential, I was sold on the Guardians game right away, and my god did I enjoy every second of this game!
I guess Chras Pritt was busy voicing Mario Mario so immersion ruined thanks Nintendo!

27:08 this moment has almost single handedly convinced me to get this game
I know I'm a year late but I just got this a game a month or two ago and finished it this morning. One thing I noticed that I really like is how hostile the guardians are to each other at the beginning but at the end they still argue but it's more like family instead of actually hating one another. It's not really that noticeable because it just is organic and slowly turns into that during the game.

Am I the only one who likes the game Gamora more than MCU? Not even just talking about the outfit.... the character in general. Even the voice actress.
I like her wayyyyy more. She was undoubtedly my least favorite in the MCU roster but one of my favorite here.

Also idk if it's because I'm on PC or if I just got very lucky, but I only had 2-3 bugs in my whole playthrough.
i played on both pc and ps5 and had plenty bugs on both.

A Champions game staring Kamala as the leader of the team and her trying to bring everyone together as they try to save the world/universe would be amazing.
I played on ps4 and also only had 1-2 bugs. In one fight an enemy spawned in the ceiling and the camera wouldnt adjust far enough to shoot him properly without the camera getting stuck, so it took like an extra 10 mins to do the fight cus i had 1 enemy left and he was just chillin out in the ceiling of the area 😂
Other bug was a game crash when finishing a small fight near the middle of the game. Booted me right out of the game.

ill get this game now, i dont usually need someone to tell me what to get or what to watch but i have been looking for a NEW game to play. and i love the marvel universe (both mcu and comics). this guardians game had me worried with the trailer i saw at EB, but i have heard nothing but positivity since this game has released. i cant wait to play! also love your videos. my favourite RUclipsr

Though I'd hope you could swap characters--at least in a X-Men game (maybe Proffessor X needs people with diffrent powers for diffrent missions).
There’s a couple of X-men games like that that were around in the PS2 era. Can’t remember exactly what they were called but they’d be good to just remaster.

on the ‘uncharted doesn’t need side quests’ point, whilst i agree, it would be cool to have a Mario Sunshine challenge level type thing where there is a particularly difficult challenge you can choose to do and be rewarded with a different cutscene or alternate entrance to a combat arena
Finally had time to play it and my two thoughts:
1.) love the team style combat. Square used it well in the final fantasy 7 remake, and I’m glad a wider audience can experience what fun it can bring.
2.) I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one who thought the Phoenix force was a thing at the end of the game. I thought Nikki may have taken some of warlock’s powers as well, but I thought the hair was a dead giveaway. The references to the marvel universe as a whole also kinda supports this imo. I truly hope this is where the sequel goes (I’m convinced there’s a sequel coming. Infinity stones were introduced and the death of Thanos was never confirmed by drax. I’m so sure it’s coming lol)
This game has so much heart and the music is incredible. I just played it for the first time recently so I’m still kinda hype lol

Looks like a cool game, but I wish I could play as Rocket Raccoon.
I'm happy that they put their focus on one of the characters instead of half arsing all of them.
I felt as if I was playing as the full team for the majority of the game. You control all members simultaneously in combat situations.
Nice hatchet marvel comics collection, I stopped collecting after Issue 180 but it's nice to see someone else with them too.
Wish you had touched a little on the _final_ final boss a little but I understand that's a big spoiler. But that final countdown moment was one of the best moments in gaming I've ever had.

I played on PC and the only bugs I had were the sliding jump sections. Most every time I would jump mid-slide hit an invisible ceiling that would push me down to my death. Then it would reload and it was gone. Happened like 5 times.
I would also save my huddles for the fights I knew where gonna be long to have maximum amount of time to listen to the music.

Marvel's GotG is the video game equivalent of the 2012 Avengers. Just *alls out fun, with a resonant story and a whole lot of character, packaged into a visual treat.
Eidos knows how to make a comic book game. For those who don't know, before they were purchased by Square Enix, they were the original publisher for the Arkham series, and gave the license for a Batman game to Rocksteady.
I'm not a fan of the MCU but I loved this game, I love rocket and the music is amazing.
I do say it felt great motivating the team and then Rick rolling a space dragon

He said a perfect gotg games not a perfect game. This is actually what gotg are in comics and even the adaptations to movies. The dialouge in this game is really good and never stop. I think this is a perfect game for gotg.
I see this a foot in the door for a Marvel game on the level of the Arkham series. I'm really hoping for a sequel where they have more room and funding.

22:35 I always thought it gave the fights more variation and forced the player to think strategically and quicker as if they where in a real fight. One minute their holding down the trigger to rapid fire the next 'THINK FAST CHUCKLENUTS'

With the final Magus fight I couldn't move so I kept dying in phase one
Really could have been special if the avengers game was focused on its story and gameplay vs fitting a live service. Every character felt solid and fun to play so if the story and missions had just been worth anything we would have had a good game.
i bought GOTG when it came out and loved it. currently playing it through again and the amount of different choices you can make is good enough in itself to make the story better and replayable at least a few times. hell even trying to find all the different outfits is cool because instead of making the whole team look the same, i like to give everyone a different look.
I think as great as this game is it does set the stage for an even better game, on par with something like Arkham City.

I think it’s great value at $15 which is what I paid for it brand new. I don’t mind a leaner game but I do think it could’ve used a bit more to do.

Yeah on the whole “Uncanny” thing, all the different ratings line up with marvel stuff, like “Fantastic, Marvelous, Amazing, Incredible”, etc. Might be missing some.

Honestly it would have been fine if it was like mass effect in it Approach to the side quest were u can go to different world but it don't become Intrusive pretty much like a RPG game

I alway thought Gamora’s armor in GOTG vol 2 and infinity war as symbolically of her relationship with Peter. As she get emotionally closer with Peter she starts to dress more and more like a rock star (Keith Richards) to tie into his love of music. By infinity war she’s full Rock Star singing along to the Bootsie Collins Rubber Band Band. I predict the Gamora we get in vol 3 is going to be a fully armored or alien version, that isn’t as carefree. Probably hooking up with Adam Warlock/Him.
