I was in a training class to become a telemarketer.... One lady stood out to me. She was dressed normally. After class I worked up the courage to ask her if she had ever read any books by Scott Cunningham. She smiled and said, "blessed be". My friend who was with me did not understand. Turns out she was the high preistess of her Celtic Coven. She asked the next day how I knew she was of the craft to see how I'd respond. I told her it was just an odd feeling I had. She asked how long I had been practicing and I said one year. She was very surprised but when I explained how I was into energy manipulation and aura reading... She said I either had keen sight or a good 'nose' for the craft. She was a joy to know.

I picked up witchcraft this winter because I want to help transform myself. I want more self love, self confidence and a healthier mindset. I'm in therapy and getting on medication but I think adding in the spiritual aspect will help too.
Another informed helpful and well-presented video. I feel, I am a richer person after watching your videos. Your subject matter covers many aspects of life both positive and negative. Magic helps one take control of life and or fires the imagination beyond the everyday and mundane. Magic is within everybody and all around. Magic can take many forms. Magic is what we make it. I appreciate what you do. Thank You... X
Thank you for all your beginner videos Hearth Witch. They have helped me so much. I unfortunately don't have anyone personally to learn from so ur videos are a blessing.
Me too, although I am a fair bit older now, lol! I still feel it , snd have so much to learn, and just found this channel. I can't thank you enough. So clear, I am so grateful, just so much and where to start. This is all invaluable to me .... ❤
My mother is a quiet practicing Wiccan, but she never really thought to teach me about it. But looking back, she definitely had us as a family do some pretty witchy things without realising it! Im trying to learn myself since my mom doesn't really like talking about herself much.
Though i have been a practicing witch for so long.....i feel like it is only over the last few years i am willing to declare it out loud... I am no longer a closeted witch. Blessings upon all. Light and love always!
This is an old video, but I truly am enjoying listening to. A couple of things that really spoke to me are the fact that after about six months of poking into witchcraft, and then starting to secretly practice witchcraft, I am finally able to call myself a witch however, it’s one of those tricky situations where I have to stay in the broom closet because I live in a Christian family a very Christian centric community, and I just don’t feel comfortable even though I have personally left the Christian faith of publicly presenting myself as a witch Now, that being said, how witches and witchcraft are portrayed publicly, as kind of this cartoonish fantasy kind of thing is in someways, helpful to me and my practice because, if I join a witchy Facebook group, or I happen to post something that is a little witchy on Facebook or I perhaps dress sometimes a little witchy or I buy things that are witchy in aesthetics, etc. it’s almost like a good cover because people are accepting of people doing such a thing and they don’t actually think you’re practicing witchcraft. And for me, practicing witchcraft is simply me finding my own path in life and learning, to not be afraid of every little thing in life that goes wrong, or that I due, and just really finding my own power from within, rather than let’s say, praying to God and sitting around, expecting God to do things for me when I could just literally get off my own by and do it myself. I know that perhaps that seems a little simple or even harsh but I’m really becoming more confident as a woman in this world by practicing witchcraft, then hiding behind a veil of Christianity.. and for me, I think that Christianity is wonderful for some people, and it was for me for quite a long time, but it simply became disingenuous to me personally. However, Christianity really amazingly helped my husband overcomes so many obstacles in his life so I will never take that away from him.
Hi! I don't think you expected a reply after so much time, but your comment made me think...have you ever read any books by the late sir Terry Pratchett? He was a really good writer, a genius of his craft, and he's famous mostly for his Discworld series, a kind of fantasy saga in which he got fun at subverting fantasy laws, and make fun of a lot of things, while at the same time analizing society and everything wrong in it. I know that it sounds a bit off topic, but in this whole world there are also small sagas about witches, like the witches of Lancre and Tiffany Aching...and in those books he talks about "boffo", things that are more or less halloween jokes, but that can still have their function for real witches. You are right, the image of the witchy aesthetic can be a perfect smoke curtain for true practitioners in delicate environments, as long as they do not underestimate the radicality of their reality (let's not forget that Harry Potter got accused of promoting satanism back at the time...). So, please, enjoy your practice, read a lot, get knowledgeable, dress as a gothic character, and always be safe 💚
Even though I know very few people who practice still, I love how communities help me find the resources I want. RUclips has also helped a lot as well. I want to learn with someone who already practices, but I'm not sure who to turn to in my state. I used to be more in tune with my senses, I guess you could say. I'm pretty bad with finding the right words. This video helps break it down easier to learn what it is to be a witch and to explain it to my fiance, who is Christian.
Just like so many things in life, the foundation is so critical. If the foundation is not sturdy and secure, all that comes after will be, as they say, on shaky ground. I have learned this for myself very well over the years and find there really is no short cut, you have to do the work on the foundation. I enjoyed this video and all of your videos I have watched because I love the way you emphasize building this rock-solid foundation. You had me on the first video I watched when you said do your research and study, study, study so you have a good understanding of what you are doing and why you are doing it. Thank you for your wisdom, it is a good, solid pointer for others to follow.

the craft called to me and I am slowly learning from everyone one youtube and I know some witches can be really bad. I tend to listen before I press that suscribe button and I can only do it when I am either home alone or when I get up early in the morning when the other two people I live with are still sleeping. And thank you for this video. At the moment I am reading a book called Henry Lawson A Fantasy of Man Complete Works 1901 - 1922. And since it is over 900 pages long it is going to take me awhile to finish as I am a slow reader and I like to absorb what I am reading. And so far what I have read with this book I have that a couple of his poems are like witchy style of writings. If you know what I mean. Blessed Be.
You said muggles and it made my day! Lol just recently found u and even though I've been practicing for a lil bit I wanted to see what you had to say. I sincerely appreciate you for your videos and honesty. Thank you SO MUCH for putting yourself out there!! 😇😇
I love the explanation of what it "takes" to be a witch! I think an apt analogy would be calling yourself a pianist (or insert whatever instrument/skill you want). For example, if my piano abilities matched where I currently am as a witch, I'd probably say I can easily play "Happy Birthday" with simple left hand accompaniment but am struggling with somewhat more complex rhythms. Beginner by all standards, but enough to call myself a pianist if I plan on going further.
Excellent video, especially the detailed explanation of what witchcraft is & isn't and what it will & won't do for you. I like the way you made it clear that any potential witchy -poos learn what they're getting into & you pointed out that it's also about helping others & going on a spiritual journey. I can't imagine someone getting into the craft with the sole intention of self-enrichment & no interest in the spiritual journey or exploring their universe. I feel that's important. Your presence & aura is so positive & pleasing. .So many of us truly appreciate your guidance & considerable knowledge.
I've been a witch for quite a few years, and I completely agree with your analysis on witch being a title and being claimed, drawn to, etc. It's not just that you like the idea of magic, you actively research it and then are drawn to practicing it. A lot of people are obsessed with initiation, that being initiated in the craft somehow makes you more "legitimate"; funny thing about that, initiation is not the same as a baptism or declaration of faith. Initiation is more like a process; a hero's journey, perhaps, which is why and how self-initiation is possible if you want to go that route. The only way to fail an initiation is to not try at all. And you don't need to be initiated to start a practice. I wasn't when I started having entities and energies call out to me in dreams, which led me to meditating and doing chaos magic... I only "officially" initiated after actively practicing for a while and it wasn't one-and-done, but an evolution.
Thank you for the book recommendation. I bought one book so far, and it dove straight into spellcasting using all sorts of herbal components that I have no desire to get this early on. I need to start with the fundamentals and slowly build from there.
I find witchcraft something that really matches me and something I was always searching for in my life . I really want to learn more things about it and your video helped me a lot to understand how witchcraft works
Tuning in every Thursday and Sunday at 3am to catch your newest content as usual it’s an amazing piece of advice and the inspiration we need to try something new. I truly enjoy what you bring to this channel thankyou so much - love and light from down under ✨🐨
So my family is extremely religious, and I have always felt a draw to to thinks like, wtchcraft, hippies, being natural, I have always felt a draw to animals, plants the universe, and astrology, so i have started witchcraft, hippie lifestyle, and more, and I feel so at peace and awake I feel like my vibration is balanced and I feel better, and i feel way more free, I finaly did my first spell( protection ) and fully told myself, I am a witch, and i feel like I'm home. I love it. I had a spiritual awakening and I feel so much more alive and real, I am energy and I am beautiful, and you guys are too
I was raised by society and Christian religion to fear witches and since I don’t like being afraid of something I began researching it. I learned so much. I also learned that somehow I already believed a great deal of what I was reading about. I just never knew there were words for how I personally believed. I hav also never really fit in with polite society no matter how hard I tried as a child and a teen and I found out why through reading these many magical books. So long story short. I once feared the word witch and now I am one. I find that to be cool.
Hi! Thanks for this video. When I got started in 2018, I got stuck down the Instagram route and really messed with my practice. I bought so many tools but I wasn’t connected to any of it. I’ve had to step away from my craft multiple times because I was so lost and I was feeling so bad about it all. But after finding some videos on here, I’m feeling very refreshed in my craft and I’m much more aware of what i like and don’t like. But I’m very behind in my reading. I also had a lot of books that pre-made spells and I also didn’t connect any of them either. I now know I haven’t lost my craft. I’ve just been a little hibernated for a period of time. 💜
Thank you for that insight of witchcraft wisdom! I am a beginner I am still learning about it like you said I'm also drawn to the possibility of The awesome spirituality of peace, magick and Witchery
The freedom of the craft is what draws me to it When I was in my most depressed state filled with thoughts of sadness, loneliness, grief, despair & occasional thought of suicide, i actually stumbled across a video detailing a Spell for Inner Strength & Peace apart from Depression / Sadness.. Once I watched it, I was made so curious by it & thus began my Journey..
Hello Hearth ! Love your video, as usual :) Just wanted to ask you something because I bought "Before you cast a spell" to learn about grounding, centering, energy manipulation, etc, but there's nothing about it in the book :/ One of the first sentences even was something like "you are not going to learn how to raise energy in this book", so I feel a bit confused... Is it possible that it is because I bought the Kindle version and maybe they modified the content ?
I've been doing so many of these things all of my life without realizing it, now that I'm calling it what it is, I find it harder. I'm trying to hard & I have to pull back & relax, it's slowed me down. Am I the only one who has been through this, or am I crazy.
I think I've been through something similar. Maybe? I have this Dragon necklace that i got from book club one year, and i.. i supposed i unintentionally charged it. I stopped doing it though, (not sure why) and a few months ago the black cord the dragon hung on broke. Oh, and the little ruby that was in the mouth disappeared a little while after i stopped so.. :/
first person i told i practaced witchcraft was a witch i hadd no idea, we dident even know each other that well, but i still sucontiusly knew i shuld tell her first!
I've never 'studied' witchcraft however ive always been drawn to it. I've always been empathic, and intuitive and drawn to certain things that are big in the craft. I'm just now getting around to learning the stuff. Ive always considered myself a spiritualist but maybe I'm a witch after all. 🙃
I saw another video where you encourage us to by “Before You Cast a Spell”. It was the second craft related book I bought! I think it’s an excellent beginner book about what witchcraft is really about. For anyone age 30+ the group “30+ Age Pagan & Witches” is an awesome!! That’s the one I’m a member of, in addition to Pagans & Witches. I use YT A LOT every day to learn about my craft. It’s an amazing resource. You get tons of different perspectives. You can search magick and see what comes up. There’s so many ways to go in.
I tell ppl all the time. That sometimes it can take a day, a week , or a month before a spell fully manifest. And I try to tell ppl even us witches got rules we got to follow too. And try to tell ppl that magick is basically energy
Great video love how you break it all down and say it straight forward. Your videos are always full of useful information and I absolutely adore you! Blessed be
Hearth, Your best-video-EVER! Thank you. I'm a beginner in practicing witchcraft. I have successfully casted my first spell which was exhilarating to say the least. The only thing I worry about is casting a spell for myself. I've read and heard stuff like never use witchcraft for your personal gain. I just don't want to cross any line if that makes sense. Thanks also for the suggestion of this Amino app. I'm definitely going to check it out. Peace and love from Florida 🌴☀️🌴
I am so so new at this so please take this with a grain of salt. So in my belief, I need personal things to be the best person I can be. I am a mother, wife and aunt. I have a lot of responsibility. If it was doing a spell for money or "personal gain" it is really for my family and I. To make it in this world you need money and personal things. Magick is all about your intention. So with "personal gain" spells, what is your intention? Selfish reasons, or are you bettering you self so that you may help and provide for others? If your doing something like a money spell, just be specific. Just write in your petition where this money is coming from. How are you going to earn this money. You dont want to cast a money spell and take from someone else. Do your homework on what spell you want to cast, why you want to cast it,what will you receive, and how you receive. Spells are thanks yous and pleases. Start where you feel comfortable. If you are doing something that makes you feel uncomfortable or not right, honey then don't do it. Do what resonates with you and makes you feel good. Think of others and think for yourself.
I've looked at the Àmino app, I can find 2 groups but not the pagan and witches amino. I have found pagan and wiccan amino. If you find it will you let me know x
I cast my first spell unintentionally a year into it I'm still a year into it well a chant spell sorta thing I was frustrated at all the negative energy I was creating and I was knitting because it calms me down sort of just like take a break situation and then i said something and turned it into a chant and banished my negative energy and bringing positive energy and i was just a positive energy ball all week
I used to be one of the people who took the title of a witch ever since kindergarten because I really wanted to be a witch but didn’t know how so this really helped.
Hearth,my mother was the one who somehow knew that I am a Sorceress...at the age of five, she bought a child's witch costume for me... I put it on& wore it ..when she saw me while I was wearing the costume and said " you'd make a nice little witch!" Plus ,it didn't matter what season it was ,I had to be outside ...
I understand parents concerned about what content their children see, hear, read and ingest. I think it makes a more well rounded person when young people are informed of different walks of life. As she said, it’s a craft, not a religion. I will say religion has messed more people up than woodworking, quilting or witchcraft. Maybe, if concerned parents want to monitor, they should monitor more closely the possibly religious things they allow their children to see, hear, read and partake in. No parent should encourage children to make small others who are not like them or fear those people. Race, gender, sexuality, religion and witchcraft (as well as journaling and English paper piecing) should be welcome and warm discussions in a loving home to allow better understanding and truth about those topics-without fear or prejudice.
I’m on my third week of research (During the summer I’ll definitely be able to delve deeper but at the moment I don’t have my own room so it’s kinda hard for me right now) and I don’t want to miss anything before I start trying to actually do magic work. Also is it disrespectful to the craft if I don’t want to accept the title witch and just use spiritual/magick worker instead? I just don’t feel right accepting the title because while yes I like both the craft and the aesthetic, I feel like the title just doesn’t belong to me (I know it sounds weird and maybe I’ll get over it but I just wanted to make sure)
Ähm yes I feel the same way. I would have no problem with saying that i practise witchcraft but calling myself a witch just doesnt feel right but i dont think there is anything wrong with that. Just do what you are comftoble with.
I know a girl who wears ✌🏻crystals✌🏻 and gets their names wrong 100% of the time, claims she's witchy when she's never even practice in her life and only wears them and calls herself a witch for the Aesthetic and its embarrassing

Great video idea. I think it's so important to be inclusive and welcoming in the community 😘🌟 Xxx
This video has been one of the most detailed and informational one I've seen yet.
You just ironed out all of the wrinkles in one video. I am super impressed with your knowledge and honesty in the craft. Thank you so much!
I am an eclectic, pagan, lunar witch. The books by Scott Cunningham are very great for anyone starting their magical journey ☺️
I loveee how you talk! if you could read my audible books, i would listen to every single word and not drift off! 😍😍
I rlly fw your energy video was inspiring much love and light ✨
I want to be a solitary green witch. Working with wild animals and have a huge garden.
I love it. I had a spiritual awakening and I feel so much more alive and real, I am energy and I am beautiful, and you guys are too
Spell the thing you think
Thanks for all your beginner videos! Super useful and just pleasant to listen to
I was raised by society and Christian religion to fear witches and since I don’t like being afraid of something I began researching it.
The freedom of the craft is what draws me to it
When I was in my most depressed state filled with thoughts of sadness, loneliness, grief, despair & occasional thought of suicide, i actually stumbled across a video detailing a Spell for Inner Strength & Peace apart from Depression / Sadness..
It was awesome to see you without the makeup, you are beautiful, and as always your video is educational and excellent. Thank you.
My great grandmother was a witch and she did not even know it ,we witches are just common people like you and me .
Thank you Hearth. I am a beginner and your videos always cheer, teach and inspire me. Hugs⚘🧚♀️
LadyGraveDancer, Witch of Wonderlust&The Green Witch are three of my favorite RUclips witchcraft instructors
When I walk past certain people I get a weaird feeling but sometimes that might just be me.
Do you get chills more or less depending on who it is? Because I do
I watch all videos no matter I love your energy so much x
first person i told i practaced witchcraft was a witch i hadd no idea, we dident even know each other that well, but i still sucontiusly knew i shuld tell her first!
I love the 30+ chat in pagans and witches amino, that is where I tend to be when I am on the aminos app myself. :D
I tell ppl all the time. That sometimes it can take a day, a week , or a month before a spell fully manifest. And I try to tell ppl even us witches got rules we got to follow too. And try to tell ppl that magick is basically energy
love it! you never disappoint us!!
This is the only witch video I could find that helped me
Great video love how you break it all down and say it straight forward. Your videos are always full of useful information and I absolutely adore you! Blessed be
Thank you, Hearth! So interesting!
I’ve been exposed to witch craft my whole life and I guess I’m going to take it a step further :)
good for you!
Hearth,
Your best-video-EVER!
Peace and love from Florida

I so appreciate your candour and wisdom. Thank you 💜
Thank you and Blessings to All!
I have added imbolc and ostara to my book list to get a later date. Next week I will be getting Beltane. I get one book a fortnight.
Thanks again Hearth, you are always so very enlightening, and helpful after a long hard stressful day, love you 🥰
This was so helpful. Thank you!
I used to be one of the people who took the title of a witch ever since kindergarten because I really wanted to be a witch but didn’t know how so this really helped.
Witches were accused of some crazy things. When witchcraft is about taking care of the earth and those who dwell on it.
U are such a brilliant lecturer U have a teaching talent
I'm just here out of curiosity :3 nice video!
witchcraft is real life amazing..
I love candle flame work
I enjoy your videos I share them on my group page for the Moot which I run locally.
Do you talk about ancestor alters and connecting with ancestors
Can I jump into multiple witchcrafts?
Hearth,my mother was the one who somehow knew that I am a Sorceress...at the age of five, she bought a child's witch costume for me... I put it on& wore it ..when she saw me while I was wearing the costume and said " you'd make a nice little witch!"
Plus ,it didn't matter what season it was ,I had to be outside ...

Practical Magic is another film that promotes the old family bloodline in Witchcraft story...
Slavic Witchcraft is my interest & a part of my Heritage

Btw u also kinda wanna learn spirit element
Same
I love this. Thank You 🙏🏾
Love you for this!!!
Thanks for the advice.
loved this video! thank you for making this!
A witch is just somebody that practices magick, which technically we can all do to some degree or another,
I believe that.
I also believe that, like athletics, it's something that some people are more gifted at than others.
Can you do an astral projection guide type of thing? Kind of explain the best way for you?
Love your shirt ❤ I got it for my 18 year old daughter.
I'm new I love ❤️ this. Thank you for wonderful videos.
That is ok. I like to listen to your voice. So I will listen to anything you say.
I know a girl who wears ✌🏻crystals✌🏻 and gets their names wrong 100% of the time, claims she's witchy when she's never even practice in her life and only wears them and calls herself a witch for the Aesthetic and its embarrassing
🌹Thank You for the video.
