    Dang! Seriously, probably one of the most lethal heads. Momentum has to be off the charts for penetration at over 550 grains. Since I only draw 60-62#’s I wished they would sell a 150 grain for a slightly flatter trajectory. Love the bleeders.

    Instead of back beveling the head, if you make sure the coating is off the back side and lay it flat to cut the burr off you'll get down to double digits on that scale. Just try it and you'll see

    I ordered a pack as well. I’ll be hog hunting primarily . I have already bareshaft tuned with the test kit. Best one was Supernova 250 spine, 100 gr insert, 200 grain point with a 60# 27” draw length , 26 1/4” arrow, nocturnal nock, and 3 Blaser vanes. Total arrow weight 620 grains. FOC 20%.

    Nice! I have been bare shaft tuning with several different bows and arrows. I just happen to like several different bows so my work load is higher. I enjoy it so no worries. I have two winners so far. Kodiak 225 gr. heads so 350 gr. tip with 125 gr adapters, standard inserts.. 28.75" 400 spine shoots awesome out of a 43#@ 27" ILF recurve. 640 grains total if I add the feathers. The other winner is a 60-65 # spine Doug fir with 225 up front bare shafting out of a bamboo hill style longbow. 50# @ 27". Around 600 grains total. I have two or three more that look promising. My compound set up is a 15 year old Mathews Switchback XT 60# at 28" with a 350 spine arrow and 250 grain grizzly heads using the V sight. The only thing missing is to actually kill something with these setups. lol

    Looking forward to the pig murders. I can talk hunting, fishing, and Spongebob anytime. One of my favorite Sponge scenes is when Sandy and Spongebob are supposed to no longer do karate and they go on a picnic. Everything on the picnic reminds them of karate... youtube the scene. it's hilarious. No such thing as "too sharp" on the side edges, but there is definitely a "sharp enough" . I think the tanto tip is probably better at moderate sharp, because it is the bone splitter and edge curl on heavy bone strikes is not favorable. Your broadhead design looks amazing. I prefer an angled trailing edge for easier target removal, but I understand you want width and stay at the 200 grain weight. Looks tough as nails.

    Question on the bleeders…I’ve always wondered (and I shoot iron wills solids with bleeders, but they are double bevel)
    Don’t they bleeders effectively stop the S cut of a single bevel? It’s another plane coming in contact with tissue perpendicular to the main blade.

    Have you shot any animals where you actually saw blood rings make a difference? After using a 200 grains single bevel I don't think the blood rings would ever touch anything? As uncle Troy says "animals move" the hide membrane muscles are all tight and contained under pressure. The single bevels are constantly rotating and leave GAPING holes easily 2xs their size...simply said the gaping gash created by the broadhead fore the blood rings create a hole bigger than the blood rings cutting diameter?

    • @tolt1776
      @tolt1776 3 месяца назад

      @ScottWConvid19 how though, I seriously don't believe it...at best they might cut tissue on the blade. If I have a 1/2" drill bit with 1/4" "bleeder blades" the 1/4" bleeder blades never touch lol...same here....I 100% believe the bleeder blades wouldn't show up on the potato test.

    My Mathews bow clocks left with a bare shaft. These are right bevel and would need right offset/helical on the fletching job to follow the bevel.
    After watching Lancaster Archery shoot some arrows with different offset it was clear that the left clocking bow shooting right offset arrows, there was a period where the arrow had to adjust to rotate the non-natural direction. It was spinning to the right after it completely left the bow vs the left offset which started spinning left almost immediately.
    Is that something you have tested? The field point showed under the high speed camera the slightest moment knuckle balling before it spun to the right, which I imagine would be exaggerated with a fixed blade broadhead like this one.
    I bought them already and I totally forgot about the way my bow clocks.

    Hello Mr. Ranch Fairy! I love your channel, it's full of first hand info, backed by tons of data. I've got a question. I shoot a 67 pound compound ( Athens Ridge 32 ) 29" draw, and Ive switched to a different arrow setup. I went with a 27.5" Gold Tip Hunter XT 300, 50 grain Gold Tip inserts, and a 150 grain head. Shaft is 9.3 grains per inch. Anyhow, they fly and tune perfect. Just now, I screwed on a 200 grain head and they fly and tune just as well. My question is, in your opinion, if I impact bone with that arrow, and a 200 grain head, will the arrow be stiff enough to help drive the single bevel head through? Or should I back off and use the 150 grain head so it allows my shaft to be a bit stronger upon impact. Sorry for the long winded comment. Your insight would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you
