Absolutely fantastic. Great trip. I snowmobile in the north east and hot tent as a base camp to ride other areas. Cozy warm, go to bed, wake up ,get warm, go out, return, get warm, dry gear and repeat. Nice system you have to go out and enjoy the backcountry. I haven’t snowboarded in years and want to start some backcountry cold camp trips and eventually hot tent like you. Fantastic, nice powder and lines, beautiful area and all to yourself. Great camp. 😊❤️🇺🇸❄️☃️🛷🔥⛺️🌄

One of my friends has a Kifaru tent and stove. we had a foot of snow dumped on us at Kinney Point above Hell's Canyon. the stove really does heat up the inside. Great video, Dan.

That’s a sweet setup Dan! I want to see a little more in depth on all the products you’re using. I like the idea of getting out there on some campouts when the kids are a little bigger. A boy can dream, am i right? Miss you bud

Great idea of the hot tent. I have always wanted to do remote winter mountaineering but this might be a good way of making that happen since it always takes so much energy to get out to places. It just often doesn't make sense to do day adventures.

I’m so far from perfecting this. I think the current set up I have is too heavy, but compare a hot tent to just a regular tent and it makes a world of difference to have a place where you can dry your clothes with a fire. I’m still trying to figure out how to best sleep warm and not feel any cold at all. This night in particular I felt some bit of cold from my sleep pad, which I may be able to mitigate from putting needle branches from the trees on the snow where I sleep.

What brand of gloves liners do you use. And you main gloves too? Do you use heated socks?

Gloves for procuring wood are Wells Lamont Cold Weather gloves. My regular gloves are Hestra @@Lee-o9n

Careful with pine branches under your pad, wouldn't want to inadvertently pop it. As far as pads check out the thermarest neo air xtherm, great for snow and quite lightly. Alternatively supplement your pad by stacking a rest underneath. I cut a zrest in half that I bring with me sometimes as a seat for lunch breaks etc. can also put your empty pack under your legs under the pad for more insulation

Thank you for the awesome video. What was between you and the snow on the ground to keep you warm while sleeping?
