Hey girl! I know and can fully understand your sentiment, especially the way 4C has been policed and perceived in the Western world for centuries. It’s important to understand that brands like Ebin are capitalizing off people that look like us and of our hair texture while simultaneously re-affirming those negative portrayals of us. Pouring into brands that celebrate our uniqueness may appear like an extra step, but it sends the strongest message to other non-black owned brands that they have to prioritize us with intentionality.
I had to pause this video because girl.. when you said evin (or however you spell it) has you second guessing.. yes ma’am! Same here. We have got to start researching and spend our coin on those who support us. This could be a series. Cause I have a lot to say and we have to stick together and support each other.
