You hair is taking OFF!!! We'll need some updated style vids soooon. I'm 8 months into my own journey and starting to see some more length come in and it's been amazing. It's also helping me manipulate my hair less now that i'm happier with the length :) missing the starter lock phase a little bit but enjoying the perks of having more mature locs!
I think so far the worst part of the loc journey for me has been me not being comfortable with the weeks after a fresh retwist. Like I've washed it and now it's just an afro with locs because there's always at least an inch of not loc'd hair. 😮💨 It's tough and as a loose natural i'd wear my hair in an afro state so it's not even my texture that's the issue, it's the combination of both just looks crazy to me? Like if I felt I needed my hair styled for something last minute as a loose natural it was no big deal I knew exactly what to do. These locs though? I'm so lost outside of someone retwisting/styling it and thats only a once a month thing to keep them healthy 😫 This January will be year 2 for me and i'm at the same exact length as you all around, but i'm hoping maybe as they get longer they'll get heavier and stretch my roots for when I dont have a fresh retwist 🥲

Personally, I think that a "retwist stretch" for me would look like 4-5 MONTHS. I only retwist my hair every 3 months- so, retwisting every 6 weeks is too much for me lol

I've heard that and witnessed it firsthand with my SO and my oldest son once it gets a certain length the growth just takes off
