    Two Great tips in there; knowing that about the scale is really helpful, also the I had no idea you could name dimensions and perameters like that.

    Watching the video and then hitting the like button afterwards is a waste of time, I just hit it as soon as the video pulls up then I'm amazed at how you tackle the work flow!

    Good one, didn't think of that with the scaling, I always checked afterwards and edit the scale to get as close I could to the value I wanted. I understood 1 = 100% and so on.

    I had to create an ellipsoid for a client not so long ago. I had a completely different approach. Ellipsoid is a body of rotation so I made an ellipse and rotated that. I'll have to have a look on the curvatures you mentioned in this vid though. I am curious if mine is OK or not.
    It was 3d printed for a maths teacher

      The Ellipsoid is only a body of rotation if 2 axis are the same length (or the profile looking along one axis is a circle), in that case the revolve workflow is perfect. The scale workflow is for then all axis are different (the profile looking along the 3-axis are an ellips in all directions)

    I love this! Thanks for sharing. What kind of designs have you used this on?

      Cut outs for a handle on a box, key holder and some other things. It's not a shape I use that often but having good geometry avoids problems down the road.

      @@KristianLaholm nice. Thanks

    you can even save one more step using Primitive Sphere, then in the Paramters just see/change the diam name ...voilà

      In most cases I avoid the Primitives because they are not always obeying the parameters. If this is the start of a design a primitive could be a good starting point.

    Can you dom something like this when you taper a extrusion ?

    • @KristianLaholm
      @KristianLaholm  4 месяца назад

      Scale will not taper a shape but you can use scale and other features creating some odd geometry :)

    Could you make a model of the Egyptian schist disc?
