    Cool module. I am left wondering though, since you simply chose an arbitrary low pitch for each oscillator in the beginning in order to make sure the module could calibrate a wide pitch range, how then do you make sure that your oscillators are in fact tuned to concert pitch standard tuning? How do you know that a C 1 is in fact a C1?
    I hope that question makes sense.

      You are not tuning the oscillator, you are running it through the CalTrans that is providing a "tuned" offset. The calibration isn't calibrating the oscillator, it's just finding what offset to use. If you run through the calibration procedure, but then unpatch the CalTrans and just go directly from sequencer to oscillator, it will not be in tune. You must keep the CalTrans in path.

      @@mamakuproject 'I don't think you would need to do that, caltrans and auto tuner are essentially doing the same thing.

    This is a very useful module. I didn't think it would be when I read what it did, but now I do. So it can hold four times four presets so calibrations for sixteen oscillators? That's pretty good. You could always get another if you have more than sixteen: it's small and cheap.

    Can you only transpose octaves? Not semitones?

    Thanks for the demo. How does CalTrans do with, say, a self-resonating filter that doesn’t normally track 1v/o?

      Well I just asked the designer and I was told its definitely possible with "anything that oscillates" - it might not track the whole range, but it will "wrap" to the nearest, safest note for the given source. Which is absolutely crazy and I have not thought its possible. So I will make another video covering just that feature in a not so distant future ;-)

    Those channel buttons don't act as mute switches, do they? I.e. when a channel LED is unlit, the signal still passes through from input to ouput?

    I may be missing the point, but this seems to be a very expensive (and time-consuming!) way of syncing VCOs to an unspecified pitch. It’s not even tuning them, it’s simply matching them to an arbitrary pitch. I’ll stick with my ears…

      seems like a very quick and inexpensive (got mine for $120) way to do instant key/octave/stacked fifths, etc changes. tuning 3-4 voices every time i want a new root note is a huge pain…

    Does this work with NE Loquelic Iteritas & Plaits ?

      if you use the first green algo on plaits and set it to a simple tone for the calibration it will work. after calibration you can then change the algorithm and most of them will be in tune
