This reminds me of what my dad did just a year ago. His previous dog passed away after the many years we had him. And after grieving for a long time, he went to look for a new one. He looked all around and eventually found a young boxer (about 5 years). She was sick and had a bad skin problem which left big bumps on her body. She went through a dog hell before being found. The sad thing, everyone who looked at her, turned away because no one wanted her for her problems. But my father, took her in. She was so deadly shy, she didn't move when I walked in to see her. But day after day, week after week. Her body healed, and her personality changed completely. She jumps in the air and gives everyone and anyone a hug. To think of my father didn't adopt her, she would still be in a cage, or even dead. This video reminded me the importance of adopting. So many of these lovely creatures are abused and neglected, then after being saved, they are left in a cage, waiting for someone to love them

My profile is my dog. He was in a high kill shelter and then was rescued. He failed an adoption but, we fostered him. That lasted a week before we realized that we were not letting him leave. That's sad. I adopted a blind cat from the pound because no one else wanted her and she was totally sweet. All animals deserve love and a home, whether healthy, deformed, or they have a disability. Good for you for seeing the beauty in that little dog. To bad you couldn't have taken him home.

Those dogs do get adopted very fast. The ones that don't are pit bulls and old dogs. Go to a shelter and see how many cute and desirable dogs you see. When my family's last dog died, my mom and I went to two shelters to find another, and they were filled with pit bulls. I suggested adopting one, but my mom wouldn't have that because they are, "Mean and scary." One more for the needle and furnace.
*made meh cry a little ;-;* if I was there and saw any dog like all sad n like trying to hide pssh you coming home don't matter if u get home with like 20 dogs I'm gonna keep them and love em (/*-*)/
We found our dog Lilly looking sad and scared in the cage she was in at the rehoming centre that we found her in, we got her and she is a old girl now. This made me cry.
There's a dog that's been in the shelter for about 7 months. Nobody wants her because I the cage she doesn't look at people but when you take her out she's really playful.
My dog was born with a deadly virus, him and his brother. On top of that, his owners left them for dead. But they also abused them. A doctor saved their lives, and a kind shelter took my dog in. When he was 6 months old, my family found him. Ever since, he's been so goofy and cute. But sometimes his PTSD kicks in, and he cowers. We have always given him a good home. I love my dog very dearly, and hate to have heard what he went through.
Reminds me of when I adopted my boy (it'll be eleven glorious years with him in October and just had his 12th birthday this past month). When you go into a shelter to look for a dog or cat, I find that you do not really pick the dog you want, but rather the dog that wants you, that needs you. My boy is a solid 60 lb pit bull, and though there were a lot of big pit bulls in the shelter because they are so misunderstood, I kept gravitating to this adorable pit bull puppy in one of the cages. But the puppy was sick and not terribly interactive- he wanted to just sniff around outside, he did come when I called him, ignored toys in my hands and was just interested in everything else. But as I put him back, I heard this deep WOOF and it shocked me for a second. And that's when I saw Jaeger. He was so shy and so innocent, but he was quiet, I'd been to the shelter multiple times just trying to find the perfect dog. But here I was ignoring him all of this time. Normally he was quiet in his cage, but if he so much as heard my voice I'd hear that WOOF again. By the third visit, he was a different dog. He was jumping up and down and spinning with excitement every time I showed up and though I continued to look at the puppy, Jaeger was a whole nother ball game. He was super responsive, we played so much in the shelter's dog run and when we got tired and I'd sit down to rest, he was right beside me, head in my lap. You don't get the dog that you want. You get the dog that you need. Sure enough, I took Jaeger with me to college a few hours away from home, because it was a big city and because my night classes got out so late and it was a solid 45 minute commute, my parents just wanted to have someone watch my back. And sure enough, walking Jaeger one night after class, a guy jumped me from an alleyway, thinking I'd be an easy target but the second Jaeger came around that corner, he took one look and threw me to the ground and ran off. Jaeger not only barked at him but chased him, jumping up and grabbing his arms and just really giving him a hard time while I called the police. Jaeger held the guy down until I finally gave him the "it's okay" command and then he was instantly back to being my sweet baby boy. I didn't do any bite training with him, no IPO or anything, he was just my pet dog. But whenever I am in trouble, he is right there. He's protected me from bullies, from loose dogs on our walks, from shady characters who were following me around, I got in a fist fight with my brother and Jaeger really gave it to him, which I feel bad about, the whole situation was about me being emotional but Jaeger is in my corner so when we started fighting, he was in the fray trying to help. The dog that you need man. Don't ever pass that up just because the dog in the next cage is cute or pretty. The dog that picks you, that's the one that you want.
@@adrianagonzalez3050 Haha I'm fine with it only getting 12 likes, it's my story, my true and honest story and I love my boy so much, I'll shout it from the rooftops, not because I want attention, although I will absolutely jump on anyone who says pit bulls are a bad breed or whatever, I just want him and the rest of the world know that the previous eleven years of my life, despite getting screwed over by roommates and being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, have been the best years I could ever imagine because my boy was with me the whole time. He was there when I was crying, he was there for every panic attack, he was there when I stood on the edge of a five story balcony, he was there. I call him my Million Dollar Man because it's just... he's my everything. And it was all because of that one decision I made in the animal shelter in 2009. Rescue dogs can change your life. So don't shop, adopt. And again, let the dog choose you. Get the dog that you need, not the one you want.
@@adrianagonzalez3050 Don't get discouraged. I'm still flattered that you think my rambling is noteworthy. x3 I'm just preaching like I always do when I talk about my boy, and I'm humbled that even 12- now 13 people were listening. And that you considered my story to be something of importance. Jaeger and I thank you for your kind words. :3
This reminded me of a story my grandma told me when my aunt was getting her first puppy and will be known as my childhood dog who passed away. Puddles was a 5 month old puppy on the streets when she was found and the shelter didn't groom her well enough she looked like a wreck and people ignored her and forgot she was even there. When my grandma and my aunt went my grandma looked at Puddles and put her hand through the cage and Puddles was petrified but when my grandma started to pet her she started to lick her hand and my grandma asked if she like the puppy and my aunt said "she looks too scruffy and weird" and went along to see other dogs but my grandma saw potential in Puddles and ended up adopting her. After Puddles was cleaned and was 1 years old she was the opposite of petrified, she was fun and happy and loved everyone she saw and my aunt kinda regrets turning her back on Puddles (btw her name is Puddles cause as a puppy and peed a lot XD) Then I was born and apparently Puddles was my guard dog when I started to crawl cause she followed me everywhere I went. Puddles had a wonderful life and I'm grateful my grandmother got her but the day she died made me not want to go to school cause I never got to say goodbye to her but at least I said that I loved her. 😙😙😙😢😢😢 My grandmother made the right decision. 👍👍👍👍
@Annie Benannanie Lost Their Nanny That was such a beautiful story. Thank you for sharing it with us. I know just how you feel. It reminds me of my dog “Sam.” A Miniature Collie/Sheltie Mix and he looked like Lassie. He wasn’t rescued from a shelter. My oldest sister brought him to I and my family of 8. He lived for 15 years and was the best dog we ever had! He loved Spaghetti too! 😂 But he got stomach cancer and had to be put down in 1985. I wasn’t there for him because I was at work. My Mom was there with him. It still makes me cry! I love Sam and miss him still today. But I think he knows how much his family loves him and your dog Puddles knows too. Besides they never forget those that love them. God bless you and have a great day! 😊
This video made me cry... This video isn't meant to make people very sad. But this got me. This video is fantastic, no question about it. It really gets through to you how dogs can be that happy, but it doesn't have the same outcome this video did. Every day dogs like that are neglected and never found a family. So they live in a kennel all their lives if they are lucky enough to still have their lives. I got my dog about 7 years ago in a kennel similar to the video. My dog looks similar to the happy dog in the video. My story is similar to the girl in the video. I saw the other dogs in the kennel and I loved them. But then I saw the dog I have now, and I got her. I love her more than anything now the world, but sometimes I imagine if I didn't get her. Where would she be? I think you can figure it out. That's where I started to cry. If you are going to get a dog, listen to your heart like me.
TheRandomGamer -BOI- dude, dont use hartwarming phrases just so you can get likes, people like you use those because you dont care about that stuff, u just want likes
TheRandomGamer -BOI- what's sad going to shelters is the animals are happy but when u leave they get sad I adopted a German Shepherd puppy and I made her this d I y bed and a year later she had cancer on her birthday and we needed to put her down (btw my mom took me to the shelter to let me pick out a dog and I chose Snow I am 9/10 and I miss Snow sooooo much)
That was such an emotionally moving, touching story, it almost brought me to tears. I see that 26,000 people disliked this video...HOW TF DO YOU DISLIKE THAT? By my count, that's 26,000 people who are straight up wrong.
This will tug at your heart strings. If you are an animal lover, if I walked in and saw that pup, he would be coming straight home with me. He looked scared, and just he needed someone to love and cherish him.
Is anybody else thinking she doesn't deserve that beautiful dog? I mean, she was so mean to him and she only wanted it after being rejected.
I agree. He was so sweet from the beginning.
ya she doesnt deserve a y dog

To think of my father didn't adopt her, she would still be in a cage, or even dead. This video reminded me the importance of adopting. So many of these lovely creatures are abused and neglected, then after being saved, they are left in a cage, waiting for someone to love them

If that adorable spotted dog was real, I'd take him home in a heartbeat.
I have a dog that looks and is like that dog his name is Ringo
Those dogs do get adopted very fast. The ones that don't are pit bulls and old dogs. Go to a shelter and see how many cute and desirable dogs you see. When my family's last dog died, my mom and I went to two shelters to find another, and they were filled with pit bulls. I suggested adopting one, but my mom wouldn't have that because they are, "Mean and scary." One more for the needle and furnace.

@Danielle LEE I'm sorry for your loss.
Boi why are there only 12 likes on this bootiful comment?
@@SoldierYena Oh aight.

Do you mean " I cried??"

@Annie Benannanie Lost Their Nanny
That was such a beautiful story.
😊❤

TheRandomGamer -BOI- what's sad going to shelters is the animals are happy but when u leave they get sad I adopted a German Shepherd puppy and I made her this d I y bed and a year later she had cancer on her birthday and we needed to put her down (btw my mom took me to the shelter to let me pick out a dog and I chose Snow I am 9/10 and I miss Snow sooooo much)
