This is the feel good Blender channel! I mean it's comforting and professional. Never before even thought it possible to use those two words together. Oh, and I'm also a big fan of Destiny 2! 😁
I will try designing mine (probably Vex style with lots of cracks and emissive parts), and I will definetly tag you if I do post it, like with that lion thing I did on instagram, that also was inspired by your Epoch short. Thank you again for the inspirations :)
@@CurtisHolt, it might or might not take a bit, since I'm visiting family now and also that I'm not really that advanced in Blender just yet. I'll definetly shoot you a DM if I manage to do anything of significance however. Thank you for responding and have a great day.. Guardian. :)
there are already some 'Patterns'-style Ghost Shell appearances within the Destiny (game). or Patterns-themed Shaders even, on a Ghost Shell's. like the old VOG [Chatterwhite] Shader that is shown among precursor units.
I loved Destiny 2 and have actually thought about designing my own 3D ghost render, as well as playing with other design styles from the game and combining them with those from Warframe which I also enjoyed, such as some of the amazing terrain and technology styles including the armor styles. I really put a lot of time into customizing the look of my characters and making the guns and armor match in look and feel in D2. I had actually forgotten about those ideas since I haven't played D2 in probably about 2 years now, but it has some of the most epic technology designs I've ever seen in a game, so it caught my eye immediately and brought back some of the ideas I had forgotten when I saw it. Thank you so much for sharing your geekiness with us, and thank you for the inspiring look at how you made it. This gave me both the reminder and the inspirational excitement push I needed to get back to this. It was nice to see you really put yourself into the design and make an unusual style for a ghost. And yes, I got the pitcher pouring metaphor. Don't worry, your quirkiness is shared. :0) As for what I would change, I'll try to remember to link it here when I make mine so you can check it out, but I'm not as into the sharp look as I used to be. I like sleek technology. I love the ball, it reminds me of designs of the core cockpit area of the Tie Fighters in Star Wars. I'm thinking of using a style more like the robot drones from Man of Steel combined with styles from Warframe, such as the sleek layered armors with interlocking panels. I also like brighter colors with a gunmetal car-paint look, so I'll probably see if I can recreate some of my favorite car paint with metal flecks in them that change color from different angles. I might be a bit new to Blender to pull off something like that, but we'll see.
One of my favorite videos so far tbh. As a big destiny fan this kinda project might be the thing to get me to take the plunge I to hard surface Would love more vids like this, touching on other games/films
I had designed a Destiny Ghost awhile back using BY-GEN and use it in my weekly reset videos in the thumbnail :)> Long time subscriber, Thank you for all of your great knowledge and for BY-GEN :)>
01:58 With like 1 year of experience I'm still a beginner in Blender- I built extensive procedural materials to make stuff look real but holy sh... that one blew my mind. I have to try this one on some stuff. Is that node new? Did I miss it all this time?
Exceptional work dude! Quick question: how did you get rid of the square BG in the eye? It's there from 6:17 but doesn't appear in the animation. I'm working to create my own, but when I export to a gltf file for example the square from my plane is there. My png bg is transparent too!
@@CurtisHolt Right now I'm making my original character inspired by Talion from Shadows of War, but I'll make sure to send you a DM or tag you on Instagram when I'll finish the ghost !
So cool! Maybe I'm the only one, but having it stay in render mode for the video really started hurting my eyes due to all the noise generation. Maybe in the future it could be done in Material Preview to make it easier on the eyes?
For an honest answer: the amount of time it would take me to remember both the name of the checker deselect (as well as where to find it) is greater than the time it took me to select them manually. It's the same reason I don't use most of Blender's editing operations.
Does anyone know what his beautiful HDR (or HDRI, I don't know) is? It has a very moody look that I would like to put in some of my renders. Thank you in advanced!
Realistically, Unfortunately No [Paracausal] [Light] imbued on that Ghost Shell.... otherwise it is just a very fragile-looking ecumene forerunner-like built halo installation Monitor drone/A.I/etc in Real Life. humored comparisons aside.
The end result looks amazing! As a big fan of Destiny 2 myself I can really appreciate this video! Great work!
yeahh i wish i get the overall tutorial of this 😍 😍 😍

Looking good Curtis, really like the animation you created to bring the design to life! Long time Destiny fan, see you in the next raid!

Absolutely beautiful. I have never played this game, but your introduction to it caught me up to speed - thanks.
Love seeing this video right before Final Shape drops.
BRAVO AMAZING WELL DONE 10/10
Nice work Curtis.
MOTW material right here mate
I love destiny and I love your ghost and I’m totally gone design my own one. Great work
A most excellent project. I have heard of Destiny but that is about all. Thanks for an informative DIY.
Nice work bro🤜
Haven't played the game yet but I have seen the designs and I gotta say, this is dope!
Turned out so cool man! The logo eye really fits well :)
Thanks Drex! I hope you're having fun at the new job 😊
Looks amazing, great job!
Amazing work !
great breakdown! thx!

Looking at the ghost, I wonder what a damaged version of it would be like.
If I were to design mine, it would probably end up like Failsafe.
Text helper is amazing addon. Please make a video of that.
I'm glad to know you're a fellow destiny addict!
truly gamerful

great video! for the final render you used only 100 samples? With the denoise obviously
Big Destiny fan too ! I like the way it turned out, as I'm also a big fan of Lord of the Rings I think I'm gonna do my ghost with this theme.
That's a really cool idea!

great vid, really creative work...
How sick would it be though, to have that in game😭😭
Looks like "the flight of the navigator". Yet maybe before your Time.
Cool, now they just have to implement that on the game xD
Eyes up, guardian.

In the words of the original Dinklebot: "Well done................"
29 seconds! Gawd damn!!!
8:16 why didnt you select the circle and then used the checker deselect

i would replace mine with "failsafe" XD
Good choice xD

Wow, nice :))

Wait what? Had no idea you’re a fellow guardian!
The Photographic machine in half life 2😀
menarik banget isinya
You've probably seen my Warlock around.
Have you played Warframe yet? ...you may encounter me in there too ;)
Yes! I like Warframe as well but I don't play it as often as Destiny.
pls more blender destiny content
I might do some more in the future :)
