I read a book about the Korean conflict and one event captured what this video is all about. During the fight to get down the road to the sea, a company was assigned to keep the Chinese from taking over the high ground. One Marine stood his ground and he saw a Corsair heading north. The pilot was at the same elevation as the Marine. They both caught the other's eye. At that moment they both knew what it was to be a Marine. The pilot dipped his wings in recognition. Marine air supporting Marine ground resulted in the infantryman receiving a Medal Of Honor.
Im pretty sure the Marine at 2:10 was one of the Drill Instructors that came to my Annual Pool Function for all the Poolees. They gave us a small taste of first phase of boot camp.
Marine's Sacrifice Everything Even Themselfs, And yet They Fight knowing that a single spark of Courage, Can Ignite the fire's of hope, And make peace to our small world.
Army is our main land force. Marines are a smaller branch, and are primariy used for amphibious/ beach assaults. Marines are usually first boots on the ground besides special forces and recon. After the Marines assault and take the most damage, the Army moves in. The Marines also stay for further combat.
Army has so many infantry units and some of them are light infantry just like the Marines. The First to battle depends on the Situation its mostly special forces but if your talking about the Bigger forces it depends on the situation ive looked into every conflict or war and its usually the Army.
Nicolas, with that attitude you should do well in the Marine Corps. Know one thing, all though the Marine Corps drives home team effort, it is still a very competitive environment, especially in boot camp, a fine balance most can't figure out. Or at least that USED to be the key combo -- esprit de corps & super competitive (e.g. if a buddy's in trouble & your ahead...stopping, helping him out). Devil Dog2016 well i was in the marines and i've been on a meu...but yeah it has amphibious assault teams on it...but that's just a small part...there were also navy seals...the unit is made of several several different jobs (mos)...if u can get into it and like it then good for ya...do your research and learn what all it takes though...it's not just firing rifles and swimming...it's many many different things that makes you one of them
