@@MountKash1 Just wondering, how would you know the temps on the m.2 drive in the ps5? Not to mention people have tested heatsink vs non heatsink m.2 drives on PCs and the difference is negligible if there even is one in the first place. Of course the ps5 is different, but just wondering
No. No you don’t. It’s misinformation to say that.
@@rickyGman11 with user of a thin tipped dual sensor temperature reader. Sensor directly on Nand (both without heatsink with bay closed & with heatsink on with bay cover closed).
Even in PCs you should use a heatsink (could be just the one motherboard comes with). You see bigger differences in these super fast drives (7GB/s).
Slower drives don't show as much if a difference because they don't get as hot to begin with.
So you're saying that I'll be praying an extra $300 on top of the 500 for the PlayStation. Can someone explain exactly what this is supposed to do, speed uploading times or something.
Bro. It’s adding more memory lol
2:20 the watcher needs to be in the bottom FYI
Cheapest ssd 1tb is like 53$ on Amazon. Remember it has to be gen 4. I got a kingdrive Or something similar
My question is why put a 1tb drive in to replace a 1 tb drive?
Its adding memory (adding 1 tb to the already existing 800 gb the ps5 has)
It's adding 1TB, not replacing it? I'm not exactly sure what you mean by this comment.
When Sony releases the official firmware? Don't know a date?
Don't understand why you put that SSD cover back, just keep more heat inside.its much better install it and remove that cover 😃😃😜
Aren't you supposed to remove the SSD sticker before assembling the heatsink? Or is it all the same?
The sticker on the ssd? No thats also a heat dissapating label.
The sticker is a mini heatsink in itself for those too stubborn to actually use a heatsink 😂
Cool beans, I'm still stuck on step 0.....actually getting one.
@@PunkRockZombie205 it's not that easy to just simply "get that cheddar" these days. be more considerate and sympathatetic

He's laughing at how easy it is as he's doing it 🤣
Hey when did gerad from subway get out ??
Does upgrading the SSD yourself void the warranty?
No
Terrible design to assume that the majority of your ps5 customers are gonna have no idea nor want to. Lol imagine the kid trying to explain this to his parents.
They're not assuming anything, it's an option. Do it if you want.
@@TheGoncas2 yea lol and void your warranty if it Bricks your console
@@BTMaverick707 anybody who bricks their console over this was doing something wrong and get no sympathy from me. There's a lot of failsafes with components that actually not doing anything wrong shouldn't cause any damage unless something was already faulty in the first place
@@Shadowespeon17 Regardless it's poor design.
@@BTMaverick707 adding an SSD won't brick your console, worst case is your ps5 won't recognize the drive due to incompatibility.
No wonder why there's dozens of videos labeled as guides explaining something so simple that takes less than 5 mins
at this point I'll just wait until Sony sells a PS5 pro or smth
Not a bad plan tbh
Also only ps5 game that aren’t on PS4 or Xbox or pc are currently just Demons souls and R&C rift apart practically
Basically lmao.
Does anyone know if everyone can upgrade yet or if its still just the beta users?
Fascinating!
These things just came out and were already showing how to upgrade them.
“Hard drive” that’s an SSD sir. The PS5 does not use a hard drive 🤦🏻♂️ typical IGN
Is no one going to talk about how expensive they are?
hopefully when the update releases we can get better deals
