  • Iqaluit is the capital city of Nunavut, a territory in Canada. It has a population of 7,429, according to Statistics Canada's 2021 census. Residents are called Iqalummiut. There are no roads that connect the city to any other community. For much of the year, it's a fly-in-only city.
    This video was recorded on a GoPro Hero 7 Black on Dec. 31, 2021. It was about -17 C during most of the recording, according to Environment Canada data. #Iqaluit #Nunavut #FrobisherBay

    Thank you for posting this. As a young boy I lived there from 1965-67. No surprise that I recognized only the abandoned HBC in Apex.

      Godd , i was living there from 1987 to 1992 my last trip there was in 1997 i so miss it alot and i know what you mean alot of things as changed for sure.

    I have seen some pretty crappy and bouncy dash videos in my time. this is smooth like silk!! Is the camera outside of the car? How does it survive the temps etc.

      Yes, it was attached to the hood. It used to shut off within minutes in this kind of cold, but a firmware update mostly fixed that. Even in the usual cold temperatures in the North, it generally lasts around 40 minutes.

    Only in Canada would you have a stop sign in three languages .... in France they say " STOP" Most people in the world know what a stop sign means but not here!

      the shape and colour of a stop sign is quite universal, it doesn't really need to say anything.

    I honestly would love to live here, but they are not open for immigration, unfortunately.. I mean, to build up this province, more people are needed especially ones that are skilled.. So I don't know why they would refuse to accept immigrants.. What is the reason though?
