Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the new MLF rules. Nice to see Brittany in front of the camera instead of behind it. Enjoyed her thoughts as well from a viewers stand point. Since I now have a better understanding I agree with the both of you this should be an exciting year in the BPT and I think the viewership might go up as well. Have to wait and see on the TW Invitationals. Can't wait for my Brownie Boys T-Shirt to get here. Once again thanks for sharing!!! Stay Safe & God Bless the both of you!!!! 🤠👍
Love to here your thoughts on it. The changes will make it a better watch on live. I really like limiting the screen heights. As I've often wondered how the hell some of these guys can actually see. especially at 60-70mph. Also these guys with 6 transducer going.
From my point of view, as a fan, I think this will accomplish two things. It will somewhat silence the haters and it be very interesting to watch the strategy used by the anglers. For you I would welcome the opportunity to shut some people up and show them just how good you are. I have all the confidence in the world that you will accel with this new rule set and enjoy the same success that you have been. The tools don't make the craftsman, the knowledge does.
As a fan of the sport and novice fisherman I am a big fan of the rule changes. I don’t personally have live scope so it’ll be nice to watch and require all of the bass fishing techniques. It’s the best of both worlds.
Hello Matt, The strategy aspect of the BPT should increase viewership by Normis. We bass heads will watch anything, lol . I am interested to see what the viewership was this year. Then compare next year's numbers. Tight lines. Regards, Steven.
I admit I am old school. I only fish local tournaments so no where in the pro or semi pro leagues. I think bass fishing changed for the worse when FFS came out. I own one but on a local level, unless you have the $$ for one you are behind. On a pro level, alot of the pros are struggling to break even and the extra costs of these FFS adds up. Fishing was alot more fun to watch from a fan side before FFS. If I start watching and all I see is the guys staring at their FFS.....I turn the channel. When MLF came to Raleigh NC 2 yrs in a row and to see them unlock those 3 lakes that fast, prior to FFS, that was amazing.
I think overall for all tours it sets guidelines. I like the MLF stance of grouping 360 and FFS transducers together over B.A.S.S. and pretty much forcing everyone to add 360 even if they were a Lowrance or Garmin angler to keep the level playing field. Main thing to me is set rules and let’s roll.
Makes it so there isn't only one technique use for the entire tournament so there more diversity in fishing. I think the should make a no technology league and pay them double what live scope tournaments
I'm not a fan of Pro's using a scope. However......... I think this is an absolute wonderful idea. I think it will further highlight a Pro's skill set and knowledge. I think 2025 is going to be great!!!
I don’t think it will change much at all, how many times do you see the top Anglers catch all their fish in one period And then ride around and practice for the rest of the day. It will be the same thing as happened in previous years, they will hammer their fish with their live scope and then practice for the rest of the day.
I heard bait companies were behind this. You only use certain baits for lives copes. So sales of the other lures suffer. I think no practice would show the cream rise up to the top.
I think if the Pro would interact with the camera and not just the screen this wouldn’t have happened. I watch Dustin Connell fish, Scott Martin, Brandon P. And all of them have FFS yet the talk to the fans as doing it. Most Pro”s all you see is them looking down and that’s what got the fans.
Anglers are going to have to fall back on the old ways of fishing. I think some of the younger pros will struggle with this. They can play computer games but can they fish and beat the bank.
Personally I hoped it would be banned in the BPT, but at least the ruling is better than BASS’s decision. And for the record I’m definitely a fan! Wheeler lost My respect when he cut you off a few tourneys back.
@@MattBeckerFishing yeah up north its more the crappie/ walleye guys abusing the ffs. i imagine in a bass setting it could save time. now with the hybrid 25% option is a good comprimise. who knows in 5 years it could go back?
What really needs to happen is let all league use FFS and the elites only get side scan so we can have less younger guys and only the true beat will survive the top
I don’t care ether way about it, cause I don’t watch it since it came out. Since not a one of you fisherman said anything about what there subscribers thoughts were on our comments , like Ben that called his subscribers MF’ers, and when I told him I was tired of looking at his back he said that’s all you see if I’m fishing any other way, but he’s wrong because we see a lay down or a bluff, and a rock bank. But we can’t see what he’s casting at on that screen. And some whole periods they never said a word. I think this was changed by the leagues for the viewers, since that’s where they get there money to make a profit in a business.but that being said I won’t be watching anyway because all the drama and cheating and crying “BORING” Need your wife’s to step in and advise you guys how to act towaother people! That’s my opinion! BYE.
Young man. I love that you are sharing your opinions. And asking questions is a great way to participate. With that... you need to start asking the right questions. You should be asking why you were not informed sooner of the future of fishing tournaments. These plans have been in the works for around 10 years. Each state has been addressing fish population and stocking efforts for a long time. The millions of tourism dollars has been at the forefront of the conversations. The biology department at St point WI has been included with the prospect of eliminating sonar all together since 2015.
"you gotta stay out of the comments" 😂 personally i think bass and MLF copped out. as i think youve said in the past Matt, either ban it or dont. all of the in between, to me, is just an attempt to please everyone by giving the appearance that youve made a change, while basically doing nothing to alter the practice that people are complaining about in the first place. I think your wife hit the nail on the head - nonprofessionals aspire to get to the level of the professionals. you are role models and, for better or for worse, when people watch you guys using technology that is unattainable to the vast majority of us, it does somewhat give the impression that you need it to be sucessfull. at the very least, it has gotten to the point now where you cant really learn by watching the pros if you dont have ffs. there is no replicating what technique or knowlege you used to locate the fish, how long you choose to give a spot before concluding there are no fish there and moving, etc. bc those things go out the window (at least to a viewer, from the little we see on televised events) when it all seems to be determined by the fact that you can see underwater by screen. in a way, it really does feel like the sport of fishing is sort of splitting in two - with professional fishing using the latest technology branching off as its own subtype of fishing, and thus breaking away from the basics we all start off learning and implimenting growing up. for that reason, i look forward to seeing some NPFL that is going to be much more relatable fishing to me personally. i wouldve liked to see more no scope events. i just dont find it enjoyable to watch scoping tbh. i get much more from watching you and others breaking down where you went, what you used, and how you prepped, etc.
Once you start banning technologies because of a select few cry babies is going to be a downfall to the sport. The guys that are winning will still win. I’m going to miss watching you guys fish ffs, I’d rather watch guys on tv fishing ffs vs watching a guy boringly pitch to the bank. This is a sad day for the sport.
Watching 32 hours of fishing is boring in general so all the talk about viewers is bullshit. MLF is caving to social media noise. Technology is part of life. BASS is on the right path although more restrictions need to happen. You guys will go broke!
Just thought of something else! You can find fish on down imaging and side imaginin, so what if they start winning tournaments on this are they going to outlaw that electronics too? LMAO! That’s what I use and it works great, I just cast at them and hang on! It’s exciting when I hit them! Also is the leagues going to reimburse you guys for your investment on FFS units? Since they approved it and now stopped it they should pay for the ones you can’t use! 👍🥸🙏
I like the changes. It’s going to bring strategy back into the sport. I also think it’s going to help with viewership.
I hope so!
Thank you both for the information! I wish you all the best for next year! You’ll come up with a clutch plan for the boat set up!🏆🎣
That's the plan!

Some boats it’s very hard to see!

I don't know about haters. BUT I personally like to watch bass fishing and not someone in a bass boat playing video games!!!
I’m totally against scoping, but I agree with you. As a fan it will be great to see,
A Drew Gill for example, fishing skills other than scoping!
It’s definitely going to diversify th techniques used! I’m excited for it. As a buddy used to tell me “it’s not the arrow it’s the Indian”
@@MattBeckerFishing It pays to have alot more arrows in the quiver. Yes Sir.
Great Vid as always guys. Looking forward to the next season as well as the Team Series. Both are gonna be interesting. Good Luck 👍
Appreciate it!
Great video! I find myself pulling for you since KVD retired. Good luck next year!

I haven't decided if I like it or not. It will change things up some. The pre scope guys are loving it i am sure. I believe you will do well.
I’m gonna work hard at it for sure!
Hey Matt, your sister Brittny is wonderful, what happened to you???? Thanks for sharing and the clarity in the info...

I agree 100%, and I would not be suprised if there was a few dollars exchanged from Humminbird to bass 😉
Sorry to comment again. I wonder if they are doing it differently in the different trails to see how or witch way works better
That’s a good point!
Makes it so there isn't only one technique use for the entire tournament so there more diversity in fishing. I think the should make a no technology league and pay them double what live scope tournaments
I would fish it! But unfortunately there’s just not that kind of money in it
It doesn't matter what rules are when your a grade A chanker.😁
Haha I heard that! 😎
I'm not a fan of Pro's using a scope. However......... I think this is an absolute wonderful idea. I think it will further highlight a Pro's skill set and knowledge. I think 2025 is going to be great!!!
Totally agree!
Does that mean that you can have and use 2d all day besides the 360 and live , I like the strategy stand point
Yes, you can use Side/down Imaging and 2d all day
I thought the rules stated only one ffs transducer.. not two. And must be on the trolling motor
You are confused on which league
Oh and shrinking the field I can only see as a way for them to pocket more $. Unless the payouts go up or everyone gets a check
The payouts will be better!
@@MattBeckerFishing glad to hear it

Not much practicing to do on the last day. It’s the only one that actually matters because of their format
I can’t think of many days that guys caught all o their fish in one period, you’re going to have to keep getting bites!
I heard bait companies were behind this. You only use certain baits for lives copes. So sales of the other lures suffer.
I think no practice would show the cream rise up to the top.
I agree!
18” is a safety issue so you can see what’s in front of you while running 70 mph on the lake. I like this ruling.
Safety first!
I think that is a great idea that they did that did a excellent idea to do that on you and I knew they would do that soon and later
We knew it was coming!
If you cant decide which period to use FFS just GOGGLE IT !😂😂😂😂😂😂🤦♂️
🤣🤣
Kind of sucks when you buy all the stuff then they make some of it illegal.
Yeah I hear you!
I think that should have one period fishing without HOOKS😂😂😂
Haha I’ll pass on that one

It’s hard to focus and talk through it at the same time!
Anglers are going to have to fall back on the old ways of fishing. I think some of the younger pros will struggle with this. They can play computer games but can they fish and beat the bank.

I think MLF nailed it with just one period and the angler chooses
I think it’s a good medium!
New Rule: you can only use FFS for 8” Glides 😅😅😅
🤣🤣
Live scope/ffs has been horrible for tournament fishing. not to mention fish population and over harvesting
Well we don’t harvest any, but it’s definitely made the fish smarter
