Virtuose Accordion - Bayan - Russian
Accordionists are so underappreciated.
not in mexico🇲🇽 … we play air accordion when we are drunk😂
Bayan is the most versatile musical instrument in the world, you can literally play anything thanks to buttons and octaves that placed so close to each other
Yep, that does it. I'm learning accordion. It all started when Gubaidulina's De Profundis showed up on my recommended. I've been into it for months, watching amazing accordion performances, writing pieces for it, thinking about all the issues with transcribing pieces for my own instrument (classical guitar), and how an accordion would be able to do it so easily. The fact that one hand can have a three octave range. That you can play polyphonic music like this and have it be expressive, more so than piano. I researched all kinds of accordion techniques. Anyone who doesn't know, I think this is freaking awesome, here are just a few:
-Ricochet (like a violin)
-2 types of vibrato
-Pitch-bending (like a guitar)
-like 3 types of tremolo
-and so much more
I've seen people play entire concertos on one, something I've always wanted to do with my instrument, but ran into many problems with. It's range is rivaled only by the piano and organ. It's freaking amazing and I only wish I knew about it sooner. Before seeing Gubaidulina's piece, I thought accordion was only for polka; something I blame the world for, for not showing me all it can do. I would have started when I was like 12 if I knew about it then. But I might as well start now.
How do I get a good one? Do I need a 5-row one from the start in order to get used to it, or will the skills transfer from a 3-row? Is it okay to learn on less than a 120 bass? How long does the right hand manual (if that's the word) have to be? Can I learn on a shorter one, and will the skills transfer? I've been looking on the internet for a while and I see a ton of piano accordions and diatonic button accordions, but only a few 5-row CBAs with 120 bass and they're all super expensive (for my budget). Is it okay to get one with 3 rows, 96 bass or less, and a shorter manual? Can I get good on one of those, or will it be too limiting?
I'm gonna have to stick within the >$700 range because I've already bought several guitars, and I'm in college now so I can't expect my parents to shell out $3000 dollars for a nice accordion.
What are some brands that produce the types of accordion like this one?^^ Searching on Amazon and Ebay and Reverb gives me a bunch of diatonic accordions. I'm sure there's sites to look on that I simply don't know about yet. Any accordionists reading this willing to give general advice? I'm excited and ready to hop on the accordion train, but I need some guidance.
Where do you live? If you want a 5 reed accordion it's relatively hard to find a cheap one but at least in Germany you can get a lot used accordions. If you are willing to do a few hours of tuning and are patient with eBay you can get a really nice 4 reed 120 bass one for around 500$. Mine is 4 reed and 96 bass, I had to pay 250€ (350?$) renewed the valves, tuned the upper reeds and it is basically a good mid range accordion. Fully enough for me as a beginner.
Now I'm not sure if I'll be recommending this right (even though i have been playing for a while), but you should just pick an accordion in a good/solid condition, and for a cheaper budget definitely go for a smaller one - the difference in a larger one is just the amount of octaves you can play.
I myself started on a keyboard accordion and switched to a button one just about a year ago, and I can say many things are easier to play on the button one, even though it is cheaper.
If I am understanding the question correctly, for the rows, I have not seen a three-row button accordion, but having five rows really helps, especially on accordions with C-system, as the rightmost two rows are duplicated at the top, allowing for more optimal fingerings. I don't think that three-rowed accordions in B-system actually exist.
For a beginning, 96 or less bass accordions should be fine, as you should be learning some basic pieces that will get you comfortable with the instrument, and in doing so not stretch out that far over all of the basses.
Also, accordions without a convertor (which allows the bass to transform from chords into a chromatic scale of tones) are cheaper, so that's also a good place to start.
I wouldn't recommend diatonic accordions, as they can be a hassle to play many of the more difficult pieces on.
If you're going for cheap, I recommend a 96 bass keyboard/piano accordion without convertor.
If you want to get to harder songs faster, or without a switch between systems, I recommend a 96 bass button accordion without convertor. For which system you want to play in I recommend either researching for yourself or asking an accordion teacher near you, as the systems have vastly different styles of playing - it all comes down to you though, you have to ask yourself in which system you'd prefer to play. Both (C- and B- systems; these are the general ones, while others, such as the Finnish system, exist too) are good, both have good and bad qualities when compared to each other. This one does cost a bit more though.
If you have any other questions, do tell and I hope you have a good time on your accordion journey.
I imagine how he's texting...
Bravo Monsieur.
Wow. Great. Just the same and difficult as the piano version. Congratulations.
definitely not
its harder
@@zoodlex1 What do you mean?
I did asked him that same question. The answer? More colour.
It is 100% not harder than the piano version.
never saw the accordion can be great as piano! even more amazing sound! Thanks
Simplesmente INCRIVEL.
That’s the coolest typewriter ever.
Once again the Russian school has brought us a marvelous player. Bravo Maestro. However, why does Mr. Dmitriev use Pigini, and not Jupiter? Both are fine, but one is more authentic than the other. I wonder who wrote the transcription? Very impressive. Thank you for posting.
I'm not sure either. His old 97 video shows him playing one. Maybe its got something to do with the Italians having outdone the Russians in their mechanics, and so that fits his preference? Still, I agree w you on authenticity. I personally take Russian bayans over Italian bayans.
I did asked him that same question. The answer? More colour.
He made this transcription himself.

Astonishing technique,,,,must have raised Liszt from the dead,,,,
I'm not worried about the singularity anymore.

Parece o bolsonaro
Yuri Medianik plays this on bayan much better.
Mocarz
olha o bolsonaro
É o Bolsonaro tocando Paganini ???😂😂😂
The violin original is easier than this, lol

Not nearly as hard as the piano one though but still enjoyed
