You know, I see Minit the opposite way. Minit is an otherwise unimpressive game made incredibly interesting by the additional 60 second restriction placed on the player. These puzzles are a lot more interesting when you can only try to piece them together 60 seconds at a time, and every time you step outside, you need to do it with a very specific plan on what you're going to try this time. And honestly, the fact that you can beat it in an hour and be done doesn't really bother me.
Trinity I completely lost my shit when that happened and missed a minit laughing. Then another minit finding your comment and posting this response too.
It's a game made quickly with a small team to experiment with a fun mechanic. Definitely a great game if you go into it with the right expectations, a fun interesting 2 hour long experience.
That's a shame. I'd heard a lot of praise for the 60-second life mechanic, though I can't help but feel that it's from people getting too carried away with how the concept could be utilised, as opposed to how it's actually executed. Ah well, made for an interesting review anyway.
I loved the “Obligatory Dark Souls Reference”, it really shocked me and I love to see you changing stuff up (even in just minor ways). Your content is so solid and I always watch your videos the moment they’re out, keep up the good work!
I've rarely run into a game where my initial reaction of "oh, this looks interesting" has turned to "this isn't for me" as quickly as it did with Minit. I haven't just played free games with more content than this, I've played a *dozen* free games with more content, and more interesting premises to boot. The closest thing I can think of to this was a very lightweight exploration game called Fairune that I bought for a couple of bucks to play on my 3DS. On the other hand we have a game like Kero Blaster, which I gladly paid ten bucks for and have played for something like ten hours at this point without getting bored. I don't think you're at all wrong to call this overpriced. To me this seems like an indie game for people who don't usually play indie games and expect very little of them. Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt was made in 72 hours and *it* feels more polished than this. What a letdown.
Hi, I just found your channel through your Hollow Knight analysis and Ive been binge watching all your videos, I hope you haven't abandoned your channel as I really enjoy your hour long reviews/analysis videos, I just wanted to say keep up the good work.
Don’t worry, he hasn’t abandoned his channel, the next video he is making is on the new god of war, his long videos just take a really long time to make
I really like when you offer suggestions to improve games. It’s often my favorite part about your videos. You have a great mind for improving many games in very interesting ways. If your books are half as interesting I would probably love reading those as well. The one thing I’m missing is the early viewing of videos. I don’t think you’ll ever stop everyone from sharing the early access link but it would be cool if we still got the benefit even if someone abuses it.
This was a really good video, I feel like your content is getting better with every video! I like watching super long game critics when I'm going to bed, and for awhile I always thought yours where ok but over the past handful of videos they've gotten way better thanks for the content man.
Normally never comment prior to watching a video but I made it here early and wanted to say that I’m looking forward to it! Love it when you upload and hope things are going well for you!
My favourite thing about this channel is the really great solutions you come with for mechanic of narrative issues in games that you're obliged to "admit" are not that great
If you like time loops, you should really check out Outer Wilds. It has a really really great story and gameplay mechanics that I think are worth reviewing.
It would really be cool of you analysed the ins and outs of Terraria, but it would take you around 600 hours to even come close to doing everything that you can do in that game, so I understand if it never happens. However, I'm confident in saying it's the most *Game* you can get for $10 anywhere on the market, so you could try looking at it from that perspective.
Great review as always,i wonder if you could review the metro series next as i just finished metro 2033 and i have a few bits and pieces to complain about. I still enjoyed it though
Sorry for being unrelated. Do you plan on playing Snakebird soon? I love puzzles and I love your puzzle games critics. I'm eager to hear your opinion on it. Keep up the good work Joseph!
What did you expect from a game ONE MINIT LONG, hurr hurr hurr hurr.
Glad to see you're making quality comments like this instead of making videos.
What did he expect though?

Cut the review into 13 videos, 1 minute each.
Now THAT'S meta.
and it would help drive his point. even if in an annoying way.
Or start his introduction again when 1 minute is up, each time presenting different point.
*this is why we're still alive in 2018 god bless u*

Now that's Adsense, baby
This running joke about fucking up Mario’s name is actually the best part of this channel
Nintendo copyright claims are no joke.
Only reason why I'm here
Anyone know if he’s done this running joke in other videos? I’ve only seen it twice so far, here and the SMO video.
It stems from his normal pronunciation of Mario is "Mare-io" rather than "Mahr-io"
Never before have I heard someone mispronounce jumpman so horrendously.
You know, I see Minit the opposite way. Minit is an otherwise unimpressive game made incredibly interesting by the additional 60 second restriction placed on the player. I didn't hear anything he said after that.
Its a pun on previous videos where people kept commenting on how he pronounced Mario as Maraio :D

I AM LARGE AND ANGRY OVER THIS
When I first saw the video, I thought the title was “Mint review”. I was thinking Joseph lost his goddamn mind and started making shit post reviews.
The obligatory Dark Souls reference~
Trinity I completely lost my shit when that happened and missed a minit laughing. Then another minit finding your comment and posting this response too.
I deeply enjoy the giant middle finger in the form of the pronunciation of the word "Mario".
A short and snacky Joeseph Anderson video, just what I needed for my Saturday evening!
We have a lot of saturdays where joseph makes a 2 hour short and snacky video. I like those saturdays.
Perpetual Peter please never use snacky as an adjective. It makes me uncomfortable haha
Short and snacky video for a short and snacky game.

I appreciate the little jabs between you and Mandalor Gaming. Adds a lot to the believability of the "RUclips Video Game Critics' Extended Universe".
I remember, Joe once said on stream "I like these silly jokes and memes on twitch, but i wouldn't want them to seep into my videos." He failed.
"This makes the plant growing bit make little sense"
... It's growing over time. It would in fact make LESS sense if time were restting.
i thought the same thing
It's a game made quickly with a small team to experiment with a fun mechanic. Definitely a great game if you go into it with the right expectations, a fun interesting 2 hour long experience.
Then it shouldn't be $10

I've often fallen into the trap of enjoying something for what I thought it could be and not what it was...
Timothy McLean did that with swindle.
Unpopular opinion but I friggin love minit
Game Revo Form your own opinions.
Not really unpopular. His arguments hold water, but I think the game is great nonetheless. Planning to make it my first speedrunning game.
Aaaaaah Canadian property value jokes. Yknow, Joe... I watch your videos to ESCAPE reality DAMMIT!

Mispronouncing Mario as much as possible to satirize all of the petty complaints on the Odyssey video; well played.
Geonjaha ikr. He didn't like it much. Big deal. His opinion. People love blowing things out of proportion.
@@Dingus7696 i think it was more because people were irritated with the way he pronounced Marios name, so it's a running gag now
@@juliuspoensgen4369 aaah. Okay. Lol
Idk about the game I just need to hear Joseph's voice

Go to his second channel and watch those Q&A videos!
Nasigil I do
Ever heard of “EpicNameBro”? He sounds similar so Joseph, he does Dark Souls videos and others
I, as someone generally opposed to serious speedrunning, liked it as a simple puzzle game with an emphasis on optimally routing your path.
Why are you opposed to it?
Have you played a game, with also time loop system, named The Sexy Brutale?
I've rarely run into a game where my initial reaction of "oh, this looks interesting" has turned to "this isn't for me" as quickly as it did with Minit. Did you do this review just for the minute pun at the end?
We all know he *absolutely* did.
He was tossing that one around in his head for a good while playing through the game
Minute (my noot), as in small, instead of minute (min it) as in a measurement of time.
Hi, I just found your channel through your Hollow Knight analysis and Ive been binge watching all your videos, I hope you haven't abandoned your channel as I really enjoy your hour long reviews/analysis videos, I just wanted to say keep up the good work.

I love watching your patreon climb! Seeing such high quality content being rewarded is incredibly satisfying.

Love the new stylish additions you made, they lightened up the video, and got a laugh out of me. Keep up the awesome content!
@Joseph Anderson: Less than 15 minutes of video length? What is this witchcraft!? Who are you and what have you done to Joe!? :O
I can only imagine what you're working on if it's taking four months. The excitement is palpable

That ending line gets me everytime.
Awesome video as always!
Oooh. A Mandalore Gaming reference. Neat.

You went so far out there with amusing references in this video, great editing. You made me lol.
The time limit mechanic was done really well in half minute hero. I really enjoyed my time with it and it surprisingly had a lot of content.

What was that about "the subtle ways Human Revolution used [time being a resource]" at 1:13? I don't recall anything like that from that game
Its nice to see that you started doing some editing in the videos. that obligatory dark souls reference part was really good.
Your idea to pour water down the snorkel guy's snorkel made me spit out my water in laughter
Yo man, the bit about pouring water down the dude's snorkel...brilliant. Got a good laugh out of me.
There is always an episode of supernatural that does *insert clever gimmick* really well
in the plant's defense, the guy hints at waiting in line.

You came in for the kill with that last line.
It sounds like a game jam idea that was made into a full product.

Hey Joseph, I was wondering wether you could do a video on Prince of Persia, specifically I'd like to hear your thoughts on the 2008 reboot
The Obligatory Dark Souls Reference™ is my favourite segment. I hope to see it again in another video.

He hasn't made a video on it, but it is one of his favorite games.
Honestly I love you Joseph and your videos
What a bummer. Great example of a concept never fleshed out. That minute pun at the end, though... was the perfect ending.

The obligatory Dark Souls reference jingle was great.
I know it’s kind of old, but could you do an analysis of Firewatch?
Cost less than a game did of that length back in the 90's. And gave me a fun experience.
