Brilliant to see the grandchildren being involved in every stage of the fit-out. They will be immensely proud of their contribution in future years. Everything's coming on really well, great videos!
Now my fit-out has started, I’m looking at other videos to see what is different. I like your bilge paint. I bet Mum was pleased! If they didn’t get paint on their shoes, they have done well! I wish I had a Mum and Dad who loved to spend time with their grandchildren - gives parents a break. Innovative ideas to keep the little ones amused in a small space. Good job on the boat by the way. Keep it going.
well Nanny I think the two apprentices can manage two bricks on each sled cannot keep Grandad waiting to long for his bricks can we one things for sure the kids will sleep tonight after there hard work moving on nicely with the boat keep up the great work looking forward to the next video. S C UK.
If you are filling the base with ballast, do you not have to balnce it to compensate for the weight of stove, shower, kitchen, bulkheads etc... Great video BTW, good to see the kids getting involved. :)
Hi Alan, Glad you are enjoying the vlogs. We go into detail about the ballast and trimming the boat etc in our next episode so hopefully our reasoning will become a bit clearer
Awesome videos!! Really informative. Toying with the idea of a shell build and you're inspiring me to consider it over a rip out project. Simple question regarding your floor battening. Looks as though your supporting battens differ on one side of the boat. Did you already mark out where cupboards, stove etc (heavier items were going) to strengthen the floor prior to laying the structure. I'm working my way through the videos. Thanks!
Hi Andrew, Thankyou for your kind comment. Yes we felt the same as you as we watched some fit out vlogs when we were considering whether to buy old or new and glad we went down the new route as we have really enjoyed the build so far. Welding work was a bit too frightening and way out of our skill range so sticking to new was best for us. We really admire those who take on a project. Yes we added extra bearers to our floor in all the areas where weight might be an issue. We also cut up our ply boards to make areas that could be lifted to adjust ballast quickly when we first launch. These needed extra support. Glad you are enjoying the build 👍👍👍
Just loved the brick sledges brilliant 👍

Nice one, thanks for showing how you've done this. I'm all in favour of a bit of grandchild labour. We get our boat on the water in June. Can't wait.
Thankyou. Exciting times ahead for you. Not long now

Really great insight into your bilge fit out 😊😊👍🏼 I’ve done a similar thing to mine only didn’t use the bubble wrap 😊😊👍🏼
Thanks Steve
Love the homemade sledges idea. When they've done yours, can you send them my way to help on mine? ;-)
They don't come cheap hahaha

How will you trim the boat if the ballast is sealed in?
Naughty step for the labourer. I think he did it on purpose :)
