How do you get the baggage for free? Do you need to pay for the checked baggage with the credit card and then you get a credit? or once you get the card you get the checked bag for free because it is link to your AA ?
I actually really value priority boarding. Like others have mentioned, having a place for my checked bag relieves a lot of stress when boarding the aircraft, and when you're first on, you definitely have a spot for the checked bag! Thanks for the SUB info - seems like a great one for AA enthusiasts!
Hype for the new intro 💪 I honeslty didn't even know about this card but this SUB is so easy to hit. If I wasn't gardening my 5/24 status, I would definitely jump on this for an easy SUB and then cancel in year 2 most likely. Thanks for sharing man!
I get the Red, hold it 12 months, cancel, then get the Business version. Rinse and repeat. I fly AA and credit miles to AS to keep my Gold 75K status, which gives me free upgrades on AA.
Back to front boarding has been shown to take longer. You end up with bunching issues, issues with weight distribution, and splitting up families during boarding. Window to isle has been shown to be the fastest but not most optimal for customers. And boarding earlier ensures your carry on doesn't end up being checked instead
I just can't do American airlines and they're 30 to 40 minute layovers, I've been burned once by their short layovers. It has to be a hell of a deal for me to fly American
I wonder if you can use this in conjunction with one of the citi Aadvantage cards or if there's a rule like their is with chase and amex on marriot I think. Last time I was at the airport, I noticed that AA has a dedicated parking garage. If you use the barclays AA card you get a parking discount, but if you use the Citi AA card you do not. Either way, the long term parking lot was cheaper.
I'll be booking an American Airlines flight through British Airways next week so I can cover some of the cost with Avios points I transferred but I have a question about which card I should use. Since the flight is American and I have the AAdvantage Aviator Silver card that has 3x on AA flights, free checked bag, etc., I'd like to use that card but I'm not sure I'd get all those benefits since I'll be booking with British Airways and not American directly. I have Amex Gold, Chase Sapphire Preferred, and CapOne Venture X as alternatives. Just trying to figure out which would be the best one to pay with. Or does using Avios points negate all benefits entirely?
They done studies on what way is boarding quicker and they found that random is the fastest. Loading from the back was not the quickest. On that note, I like getting on board early for my carry on bag being located above my seat.
There are often more flyers than space for overhead bags. Theoretically priority boarding should give you a more guaranteed bin space. If you fill back to front someone is going to put there bag up front and walk back without it
That and some azzholes bring more than one carry on. I flew first class this summer and got my bag in but some first class dude had two bags and when the last first class person tried to put their overhead bag in it wouldn't fit.
2:20 I agree. I like to board first if I get a PDB. When I left Bogota on Thanksgiving I wasn't in Delta One and I just stood at the LATAM lounge until 25mins before the door closed for boarding.
Yeah people try to put their whole life in The overhead compartment and they don’t care about anyone else and until all the carryons are safely secured they WILL delay the flight. So that’s why everyone is so pressed to get on first. That’s just based on all of the travel I do
Great video Mark as usual. Do you think it makes sense getting an airline credit card if you already have a premium travel card such as the venture x, and platinum?
Thanks man! And it totally just depends. A card like this makes a lot of sense if your looking for a bonus for free flights but as far as a keeper card I’m not sure. General travel cards tend to make more sense to hold onto long term as opposed to cards like this
I live in an AA hub, so it would probably make sense for me, although AA is not my favorite airline. I am 4/24 and not sure it makes sense to use a slot for this card. How is Barclay’s as a card issuer; I have no experience with them.
I was told when I apply I’ll get 1 year free I’ve since then made a few purchases with my card I haven’t received the 60,000 bonus miles I’ve only gotten the bonus 500 miles for it being my first time

Carry-on* 😉
It’s only group 5 you get not even priority which is groups 1-4

If you carry on your bag, getting on first will secure you space in the overhead compartment
Makes sense!
I so agree, Board from the back, I kinda like Priority boarding cuz you get more space to put your things but there are up and downs

what rules are you referring to with chase and amex?

Great CC for the SUB for sure! If you're looking for a keeper AA CC the Citi AA Platinum is pretty decent. Thanks for the info + video!
There's also a current offer for 60k SUB and annual fee waived.
Link? I'm sure people would rather use that one!
@@markplymale doctor of credit or just Google the card then first year fee waived

Ah makes sense. I always check luggage and have a small carry on bag so that has never been an issue for me but I can see that being problematic
I was going to say the same thing I fly a lot and baggage can delay your flight

Thanks for sharing. Which bureau do they pull from?

Is the free checked bag just for the card holder or companions also?

Younger me would have jumped on it.
Wiser me says that there's no good reason to since there no AA hubs in the PNW.
what is your suggestion on cards to pair with this one if you have a focus on travel?
Probably a broad point earning travel card like the Chase Sapphire Preferred!
@@markplymale thanks 🙏🏾
@@UTubeVidWatcher i have this card but it's my only one. I was looking for another. Any suggestions?

Honesty I haven't heard great things about them but I personally don't have any of their cards so can't give my own opinion on them!

Did you still not receive it ?
Enticing, but ive read a lot of horror stories about barclays customer service and people not getting their miles.
Trying to get below 5/24, but this super easy bonus may ruin that plan!!!
I request more cat content.
Pioneer Cat channel confirmed!
No thank you
