I've never felt my life SO THREATENED as an American. NEVER. Not even after 9/11.This is horrifying, overturning democracy.
They've been fighting to make us a Theocracy run by oligarchs, white evangelicals and white supremacists for 50 years. It was under Reagan that white evangelicals (Dominionists) got a real foothold in government. This is why they would never turn on trump. They've been using him just as much as he used them. And now they will regroup and try again. Ted Cruz was supposed to be the one to lead them to their theocracy, until trump came along. So watch what he's doing now as he jockeys to be their leader for the next effort. They aren't going away, they will try again.

Plenty of people in the military will be torn on the issue and the place it starts could be with an internal power struggle. If a military leader refuses a direct order by the President and is subsequently replaced by a Yes Man in the final days of the presidency the conflict of interest would soon become a conflict of power and Joe Biden could have a military led coup to contend with.
You would think that if a State didn't follow it's own laws, their State Supreme Court would know about way before some idiot in Texas.

To be fair, that's exactly what the civil war was about... states' rights. Specifically, the Union was fighting for states' rights, while the Confederacy was fighting to strip the states of their rights, and force the northern states to accept slavery.
Short history lesson here, the main complaint the Confederates had wasn't about the north cracking down on slavery. It was that the northern states weren't actively assisting them in enforcing slavery. The Confederates were demanding that other states bow to their will, and the northern states were defending their right to not be bound by the laws of other states. In fact, slavery wasn't even under threat in the south until after the Confederacy attempted to secede.
