    I made this today for lunch and it was so delicious. I never used to add oil or hot water and both these ingredients made a HUGE difference. Thank you very much and now this is how I will be making ever:) I did grate a small carrot and added and the rest is all as per your recipe.

    U knw wht? Whenever the matter comes into my mind that i shld eat this dish instantly so and so dish, then if i don't knw abt the recipe, then my mind always reminds me of u. Tq for being my kitchen helper. And ur videos amazing bcs of no wasting of time. And keep that kannada wording also down there. It's helping lots of people in Karnataka.     I add ragi and soyabean flour to the normal wheat flour to make everyday rotis. Very healthy and nutritious, and doesn't reflect in the taste!

    Adding oil and hot water to the dough really made a difference. The rottis cooked well and were more tastier.

      Not only in karnataka even Pahari People in Uttrakhand and Himachal can't leave without it. We called it Mandua and use it as a normal flour for making chapatis daily it's traditional food there. But we don't use so much oil. Just Mandua roti with Ghee/butter and Saag(green leafy curry) or only with mint chutney made with himalayan rock salt.

    Ragi Roti on tawa n banana leaf so nice. For 2nd type tawa will be normal temp for first roti but how to do when tawa will be hot at time of putting second ragi roti

      You'll have to wait until it cools down.
      Tip: Put lots of water and it'll cool down within seconds.
      Pro Tip: Make Akki rotti that way, it'll taste great.

      If Banana leave is not available for the first method itself, U could use a clean cotton fabric, pat the rotti on the cloth and then transfer it to the tava.. Safe and easy to clean..

    They would be fresh and not like thin one's sold in Karnataka shops .

    I make ragi roti just like atta roti by mixing ragi flourand a few drops of oil in boiling water and roll it like regular chapati with belan.

    I liked your recipe. But one thing I want to know is why is it compulsory to make the holes in middle of roti. Also is it really required to use that much oil? My doctor asked me to use as little as possible for diabetes. In that case will the roti come out like this?
