Another fun thing to do is to sharpen them with a reg pencil sharpener over a ceramic pallet well. Then add water to the well, blending the shavings to a paint consistency. They dry well and can be reconstituted to a paint consistency. And..the paint is almost gouache like in effect. Quite opaque. I have several ceramic pallets of Caran D’ache crayons in one art area, and the crayons in another! That way I always have them no matter which space I;m at!
