Luv the negative connotation with dread locs is a new thing in recent years. In Jamaica, having dread locs implied a spiritual connection with the divine being. It was Holy in other words. Call it whatever you prefer, many blessings to you.

It's summertime and I hope you do a video on the phenomena of dirty sour heads of our people. I dread being in a crowd of people with weaves and dreads who you know, (by smelling,) they haven't washed their hair in several weeks or more.

I'm moving to the Houston area soon I tried to start my own dreads N also went to somebody else who used a sponge with the holes in it butttt I told him no lol but I think I'll wait for you to do them. Damian, I live for your videos! I noticed before that you used Design Essentials products. Are these products also Design Essentials? Also, can you address what to use on locs on a daily basis?
Through trial and error, I found that my locs like to be lightly spritzed with water, then followed up with coconut/olive/lavender/lemongrass oil mixture. Keeps them soft but strong. I have classic Jamaican hair (4c) so this may not work for looser textures.

I bought the Design Essentials Honey Creme conditioning shampoo. I used it after shampooing twice with Dr Locs clarifying shampoo.
Baby, when that Honey Creme hit my scalp, I heard angels sing! It's all the conditioner I need. I wanted to shampoo 3x with it...but I didn't.
Seriously, that Honey Creme is the TRUTH!
If you're doing maintaining own locs, should you be using any Tight Hold within the first year or stick solely to the Loc n Curl spray? I'm currently at 4 months. Starting in August I'll be doing my own maintenance.

I've had locs for 11 years started and maintained by Studio SLK in Evanston. Even though I moved into Chicago. I'll still make the hour and a half train ride to Studio SLK for my retwists. She's right off the purple line, Foster stop. Street parking. Right downtown. I always say it's her hair, I'm just wearing it.

I've had yarn wrapped around my dreads for 8 months. When I took it out my dreads were longer and I cleaned them but now I deal with a lot frizzy and dryness. My hair dosnt look moist and neat it looks really dry. I don't know much about products for retwisting and shampoo and conditioner.. and there a few of my dreads that are thin towards the end but my root is strong. And I have dreads that's thin at the root and bulky at the end. Also I notice that the end of my dread is locked but the root is very much untwisted and it seems that they are bulged or open at a certain point I know used to be dreaded.. I need serious help instop going to Africa hair braiders because they kept using gel on my dreads and twisting extremely too tight thinning my dreads!!! I really need help can someone give me some guidance I can send pictures of what my dreads look like now if anyone knows what I can do to help with these issues I'm having

I started my dreads a little over a week ago and I haven't washed it yet. I used beeswax and twist n lock gel when is it safe to wash? Also how often should I retwist because my dreads are small so the new growth looks bad.
i was wondering if u could give me some tips when it comes to interlocking dreads that are combined(fingers) my husband has a few of them and when it comes to interlocking them its very difficult ive been palm twisting them but the regrowth has just became overwhelming please help..
