PS: Sorry the Ackerman painting in the thumbnail didn’t show up in this video because I made this video like weeks ago, forgot to create a thumbnail, and the piece was the only one I had available in my house when I had to do a shoot sooo yea HAHAHA!
Where do u get your glass is it picture frame glass ???
@@Nir-vana Yes :)
@@Nir-vana nice😍
@@bacalalyka how do u print swatches. Im confused
@@zariaragsdale7960 You could check out my tutorial on my channel for it! ☺️
"Don't use normal markers"
*looks down at the outline i just made with a sharpie* 👁👄👁🔫
omg i hope im not too late but still save-able! just apply a second coat using paint! that's what i did on my very first one 🙌🏼
@@bacalalyka ohh thank youu!!
Same lmao, the marker mixed with the paint i wanna die
i used sharpie for the other side (the one that's out) and painted the inner side
@@sabrinanoguerabeltran4263 is permanent marker okay?
I'm kinda sad rn that this got recommended to me after just doing my first glass painting.
don’t worry i’m right there with you😭☝️
I did my first painting earlier today and then this video comes up on my recommend :'(
Well that’s okay! Now you know how to make your next ones even better 😆 I just did my first one, saw this and went oh! now I can see how I can fix the mistakes i made!
don’t feel discouraged
Same for me but it was indeed so satisfying doing it!!
This thread makes my heart super warm, I hope the vid helps you all on your next one! 🥺🙌🏼
Me who had just finished an hour and a half long session of outlining a glass painting in sharpie: *screams*
OMG, I did that too on my first one but good thing I decided to but black paint behind it! How did it go?
@@bacalalyka I accidentally spilled paint on it and the sharpie smudged really badly, so I have to restart ;-; Imma try again, but with a better marker (and no paint spills!)
(ignore this) notes:
-use paint pots to keep paint wet
-blow dryer
-redcoat outline
-make sure paint matches
-mark ur highlights/shadows
I’m rlly late but I honestly have so much respect for her replying and answering people’s questions, she seems very nice!
i do try my best whenever i get free time, thank you for appreciating that! 🥺
To add to #6: I have found that it's much easier to see what you're doing to print the lineart reference in a lighter/brighter shade than the lineart itself.
I like to print mine in a light blue so I can see the black outlines better. I tried it with black lineart for a reference and I eventually got visually confused of which lines I had already done and where to aim my brush, so I had to switch to something to tell them apart. Maybe I'm the only one who has ever had such a problem, but I figured I'd suggest this just in case it helps orhers.
extra tip on the double coating outlines: you can also go over the marker outline with black paint to make sure it doesn't pass through that much too : )
what if the outline is too thin, what do you recommend?
Your side profile is literally perfect!!! I’m so jealous haha 😭😭❤️
Same:(
literally the first time i ever got complimented on that, you're so sweet, thank you so much 🥺🤎
EXACTLYYY
FR THOOOO
Best part about acrylic on glass is... if you have a scrap painting all you have to do is add water and the acrylics will come off. I have a glass pallet which I find ironic now that I am thinking about trying the glass painting.
You are soo underrated your art is great
Thank you for appreciating my art! Is there any video you would like to see next? ☺️🙌🏼
You literally saved me from making so many mistakes and having anxiety over it! You are such a great teacher thank you!!
The pre outlining with an iPad is so smart. I’m deffo gonna try that since it’ll save so much time lol ❤️
Thank you so much
I make sure to write your recommendations before I actually go shopping for my first ever glass paint.
gurrlllll your side profile is so pretty 😭💗💗 love those tips as well !

I am planning to have a small business like Glass Painting and this video helps me alot , Thanks Lyka.
thank you so much! I was struggling about which marker should I use because regular sharpie wasn't working fine so this helped me a lot!
Hello, sorry for the late reply but I'm glad it helped! Did you end up buying a paint pen or tried something else? I'm curious!
Also, thank you for that last part ILY 😭🤎
my markers are translucent and u can literally see the lighter paints going through it lol. So under this circumstance, I draw another outline in the front so it could look more opaque 🤣(this isn't illegal right?)
HAHAHAHAHA i actually thought of doing this before! It is indeed smart, only thing is you would need to be careful when you start cleaning or touching the other side too basically. So yeaaa it's doable I guess 🤣🤣🤣
Super helpful Lyka! Thank you so much
So glad to hear it helped! Thank you as well 🤎
Thanks for the tips! I'm gonna try making one of Luffy
I'm glad I saw this vid since I have been planning to do it

i already tried glass painting but it broke :(( [it looked shitty anyway], so now im planning to redo it, this really helped tysm💙✨
Me: ugh im so worried Im not going to have the right materials
Also me:
Shocked because I have the exact same paint pen 😳😳
Hey there! I really loved the video and the tips where great too, thank you 😊! I am doing anime glass art too and for outlineing I am using an oil based permanent marker. And for those who can't afford a paint marker ( in my country it's super ecpensive ) you can use an oil based permanent marker just make sure you do several coats until it's all clear. ( at least this method worked for me ). And again thank you very much for the great tips!😁
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it 🤎
I recommend posca pens they are very opaque!
She is so pretty 🥺🥺
Awww thank you, you're so sweet 🥺🥺🤎
Thanks!! Hi from Brazil =D
Omg wow my video reached there! Thank you so much for watching as well 🤎🙌🏼
The last tip is so so smart because I felt like I couldn’t take a break as the paint would dry on my palette😭 idk why I didn’t think of storing it in containers, that way I can also reuse the skin colours I mixed up. (why do I struggle so much mixing skin colour lmao) also unrelated but her side profile is so pretty omg??
me, wanting to do a AoT glass painting: let’s look up how :0
sees AoT on the thumbnail: *this should be a good video*
i love your videos ❤❤❤. for the next video, can you upload new tutorial anime glass painting 🙏🙏🙏
I guess I should watch this before I finish my glass painting
Also I feel blessed to be able to make my colours super accurate without swatches 🙏
I hope it helped! & YES definitely, with more practice anyone could do it even without the swatches! Always makes it an easier process! 🙌🏼
Tip if you are using a paint palette similar to the white one she showed.
Cover it tightly with foil or saran wrap and make sure it's flattened over the top of the pallet to cover the wells. This will keep the pain usable for another few hours minimum.
I've saved paint til the next day using this method. Store in a cool place.
But to be clear, paint puts are better for storing larger amounts of paint for longer. This to is just in case you had already started with a palette out couldn't find the pots
Wow, that's a great tip, thanks for sharing! I'll make sure to try that next time! 🤎🤎
I should’ve done some deeper research before starting mine... I just finished it, and even though I did the reverse painting and color matching fairly well, I did NOT double coat my oil-based paint pen trace at the start. I figured one was enough and I was wrong! Then with more and more paint being piled onto those outlines, they started getting eaten away basically. It’s not so sharp anymore and it makes me upset because it’s a gift for my boyfriend, but it’s still a pretty good image for a first attempt! I’ll have to try again in the future-thank you for these helpful tips!
“they started getting eaten away” oooh! that sounded heart breaking... I FELT THAT 😭😔 I’m glad the tips were helpful & good luck on your next one 🤎
The first time I did glass painting I drew the outline on the front instead of the back ! It's cool because it didn't mix with the paint, but because it's a few milimeters in front of the paint, depending on the point of view, you can see the paint of the other side of the line... So next time I'm gonna do the outline on the back, with the paint, hoping that they won't mix together.
Another tip: *if you’re a beginner try to find a anime character with a simple design ex: Ray from TPN*
My first glass painting is going to be norman.. Do you think he's simple? 😅
YES YES this is a good one!
Is bakugo simple enough lmao
@@hi-ww3ij i wouldn’t say so lol
@@gxjouu yes!
Thank you for the tip 😄 its really helps me, im just going to buy the materials when i come across to this video, thanks for the traffic because if its not for the traffic im not going to across this vid hahahah 🤣
I use vinyl that I cut on my Cricut for the black outlines. Never smudges. It’s a game changer for me.
I've always wanted to try this but unfortunately, I still need to save up for a Cricut! 😭💸
Thanks for sharing...♥️♥️♥️🌹🌹🌹👍👍👍

So ur saying that painting is BAD!? NO ITS PERFECT !!!! 😌💖❣️
Awesome...great video👍👍👍❤️❤️👍😉👍

I'm here to support you
thank you so much 🥺
Hi! Loved your video and you seem so nice:) and I have a question: I do need to flip the reference image so when I'm painting it at the time to turn it around it looks the right way, right?
