I know so many people have these stories. I was sure something was wrong with me for some time. My doctor told me I was making my self sick thinking about it. It was too long until I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I saw him at the hospital I worked at. I’m sure you heard what’s going on with me I said. He hugged me and wished me well. I did really good but that comment from him I can’t forget

Absolutely. I have been very fortunate to find a family doctor who has been so diligent about following up with anything that I feel is not right with me. It seems that is rare nowadays, so you can be sure he's never getting rid of me because he actually listens and gets me the help I need.

Or name any household chore that needs to be done. I actually live with my mother, and today, she just refused to drive me to the pharmacy for some much needed medication. I can't drive myself as I can't see properly coz of the migraine I have. When she said no, I actually went out to my car in sheer frustration to go get my medication, and the battery is flat. So my beautiful friend is coming tomorrow to take me.

my youngest son (39) is a licensed master plumber and has said he would never install a garbage disposal. first, nothing but liquid should go down a drain and disposals do not chop up enough at all. so, unless you like paying $200 or more per hour to a plumber to unclog your pipes, best not use disposals. non-liquid waste should be caught by strainers in your sink, so they don't accidentally go down the drain and should be dumped in the trash. also, what you're allowed to put in disposal is very limited, but people don't stop with those items and tend to use for everything! they never fully empty and can cause smells, due to germ build up too. also, if the stoppage is in your sewer drain, in yard, it could cost $10,000 - $30,000 or more to have excavation and repairs done on that! not worth it to me. my son does tell people that insist on having them, that they should be prepared to pay more plumbing repair bills. other places may not allow them for that reason. not only bad for individual home plumbing, but sewer issues, as well. esp in apt bldgs! lol also, Bonnie, i noticed you like to wash your dishes before putting in dishwasher. i saw something on this, stating not good idea. just clean off large particles (chunks) of food. the new dishwasher detergents have surfactants in them to take care of food on dishes and if dishes are cleaned first, the surfactants have nothing to "eat" and will just build up in the machine, which is a problem. sorry for the lectures! lol

That’s exactly what I was thinking right now for this medical season of life! No shame in paper plates if there’s food to eat on it! I used to think that lining baking pans with foil was wasteful on the environment and my pocketbook…….until I broke my shoulder and couldn’t scrub anymore. I used it guilt free for three years and now I’m back to scrubbing…..except when I’m tired as I’m making dinner.🤭🫤 Also, recognizing what our priorities are.(Saw all of the dead plants in the kitchen window) I took care of my parents for 24 years,my mom’s last five years were bedridden in the living room and my dad’s last five years with dementia (at home). I would gratefully accept fresh flowers but ALWAYS politely turned down potted plants.(I just didn’t have the band width for one more dependent)😵‍💫😟 Even now, seven years later, just my husband and I to care for, developing more health issues myself, I refuse to have any real plants inside because people deserve whatever energy I have left to give. I’m okay with this and enjoy plants at other people’s homes and Botanical Gardens.👍 I don’t like to resort to takeout too much, sooooo expensive!,but I do keep a few Stoffer’s Lasagna type meals in my freezer for “those nights”. DO WHATEVER YOU NEED TO DO TO FUNCTION AS A FAMILY!🙌🏻👏👌👍

I think it's such a needed service and I have a hard time figuring out how to direct people who are in very desperate situations and just can't get on top of things. If they are elderly, it's usually easier to find help, but not for those who are struggling mentally or have had some physical ailments which have reduce the amount of stuff they can do on their own. I'm sure it differs in every state and, of course, every country, but I'm assuming you are in the US? If so, do you have any suggestions on where people can turn for some help like this other than friends, family, or a church group? Because those are not always options for people.

I lifted huge boxes, heavy trays of mail loading and unloading my truck every day. Pushing around big heavy equipment. I was strong and I was basically doing a man’s job. Until I was in pain, all the time. Everything hurt. Even all the joints in my fingers and hands simply from holding the steering wheel in my car. Then I started feeling sick all the time, like I was coming down with the flu, non-stop. I developed insomnia, and then I started forgetting words. I seriously started to think I was dying. And it was just a matter of time until whatever I had became so obvious that my doctor would finally discover it. That’s when the anxiety and depression really kicked in. This all started after my mom died. She was diagnosed with lung cancer 2/7/14 and died 2/12/14. Then I got to be executrix of their estate in Kentucky while living in California. With a stepfamily that was never close. I guess Fibromyalgia can be triggered by trauma. Either by physical, like a car accident, or emotional, like the loss of a parent. Always be your own best advocate! We all have intuition about our bodies and know when we aren’t well. Don’t let the medical community gaslight you into believing that what you’re feeling is normal. It probably isnt. Don’t let them weight shame you. This is OUR life, and we have to do our best to protect and make sure we get the care we need and that we pay for! Medical insurance is expensive! We aren’t paying these huge monthly premiums to be told we eat too many Doritos when we know that’s not the case! Take care everyone!

I keep wanting to bring this up in a video, but I'm also not prepared for the barrage of questions I might get asked. However, I will tell people occasionally in the comments who suffer with fibromyalgia or other chronic pain about how I manage mine. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 5 years ago and I have had chronic pain since I was a teenager. I just learned to live with it until it gradually got worse and then I had shoulder surgery, a back fusion, and a disc replacement in my neck all within about 4 years, which helped the intense local pain at those sites, but intensified the other pain throughout my body. My pain specialist recommended something to me that has been a life changer and is the only reason I am able to still continue to move and do these types of free cleanings. It's called Low Dose Naltrexone. I am not even going to go into the details of how or why it works, but if you are interested in learning more about it, go to the LDN research Trust website. It has seriously been amazing for my pain. When I went to Illinois, I forgot to have it refill before I left and I did fine for a few days, but I was hurting quite a bit by the time I got back, so I know it works.

I take a bunch of stuff. Even opioids. And I know exactly when they wear off. I’m like a wind-up doll in that respect. I can only go as long as the medication lasts. As soon as it starts wearing off I have to lay down I hurt so bad. And take more. I’ll look it up. Sending gentle hugs your way!!

It was horrible experiences with multiple bad doctors that added to me even being in that situation. Rude, misdiagnosed multiple times, literally being laughed at and dismissed lead to a lot of anxiety with doctors, I only went when I absolutely had to. They didn't take ANYTHING seriously with me, and I was almost double the amount of testosterone in my body because they weren't checking (Any more and I could potentially have a heart attack). After much doubling down and switching to different doctors who actually listens, it has been wonderful. Always speak up about your health, even when doctors doubt.

I have known people in your situation. Hugs. My first experience with a person undergoing gender reassignment was born xxy and I found out at church when Sister so and so was introduced to the male classroom as Brother so and so by the Bishop 33 year ago after being stabbed for riding a motorcycle. Church leaders prayed with him and all agreed that this was an appropriate course of action. I was a teenager but it set a precedent for understanding and kindness in what is all too often a less than understanding place than we might hope or expect.
Gyms are full of people trying to get more healthy physically, and churches are spiritual gyms. Hospitals are sometimes both. Love thy neighbor as thyself doesn’t change the moment a name or drivers license does. Let alone hair length. (Delilah I’m looking at you… 🤣) who you are doesn’t change the second you share something like that either. Just hugs!

It took me 7 years before a doctor paid attention and had me diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. It was at least another 7 before one admitted I had "mild" arthritis in my back. Five more before another admitted the arthritis was "significant". And I'm only just getting them to do something about my gall bladder after the whole COVID interruption.

No one knows better how these situations come to be than someone who has suffered much themselves. That's so kind of you to want to help others as well.❤️❤️❤️
I got started by posting in my community Facebook page that I was looking for houses to clean for free for people who were having some struggles with their mental health or just going through a trial and needed a little help with something in their home. Of course you can be as detailed as you want about the type of tell me an hour organizing you want to do. Just make sure you are being safe about it. That's what I always worry about is somebody walking into a dangerous situation. I think most cases you can probably fill out if they are trying to lure you into any kind of dangerous situation, but that's what I like about Facebook is that you can sort of vet them on there so that you can see if they really are who they say they are and I almost always have at least one or two friends in common, so that helps as well. Other people have mentioned maybe checking to see if there is a government program who helps aging people and letting them know that you would love to help someone out with some free cleaning and see if they have any tips for you or ways to find some older folks who might need a bit of help.

I recently was in the hospital and diagnosed with colitis. I had a bad case of diarrhea that would not stop. I was so weak I could not even do my dishes. They were stacked in piles by the sink. My laundry was in piles on a couch in my bedroom and my bedding needed to be washed and put back on the bed. I did have a spare set of sheets, but my linen closet is still such a mess I can't find the spare sheets. My daughter said it took her 2 hours to wash and dry all the dishes by hand. Then about 3 loads of laundry to re-make the bed and another half hour to clean the bathroom. This was SO embarrassing to me, but I desperately needed the help. I have since gotten the right medication, my strength is back, and at least my rooms are becoming clutter-free. I work on something every day moving toward a clean orderly home. And I keep it up by starting with dishes, clutter, and laundry.

I'm glad you found the right medication to help you and can start getting back on top of things.

I enjoy hearing the homeowner stories and I have to say, even though I suffer from a few issues, this family has been through a lot and especially Cammy. So glad she is getting better medical care. Really neat that you have a connection through school. And you have the best helper today 👍 great to see Lynnita again!!!

Even though it doesn't diminish your own issues, it does help to have the perspective that we are all dealing with something, doesn't it? Thanks for your comment!

OMG LOVE the kitchen organizing!!! (more more!!!). Bonnie, you guys are so amazing to be helping out people who are unable for whatever the reason. Not only do you help their physical space, but I think more supporting their emotional health! You are truly Angels-On-Earth!!!

Thank you. As much as the emotional support can be a little draining as an empath, I also know it's a huge part of helping them because they have had almost no one to talk to about this stuff for years since there is so much shame around having someone know about your situation when it becomes like this, so they do really need a lot of that emotional support. As long as there is gratitude, I have found I can continue to give that kind of support. There was one particular homeowner.... I don't think it would be hard for anyone to figure out which one it was😉.... who really showed very little gratitude and needed a lot of emotional support and that was something I just couldn't do any longer. Cammy is a lot easier to support in that way because she is also very gracious.

My OB was the only one that listened to me about some health issues and got me squared away! My family doctor never did a thing, he basically blamed my age. I’m only 33

Yeah, it's sad when you aren't believed. I feel very fortunate to have the family doctor I do because he has always been great at listening to me and gets testing done right away if I ask for it.

This is an organisers dream Bonnie. Double sink, two large surfaces to work with, outdoor laydown area. I can see you relished this task. All those baking pans! Did all the kitchenware originally have a place? You can categorise, condense and configure this kitchen to a coherent system very well.

Yes, I thought the same thing. There is definitely plenty of room to spread things out and bring in a little at a time to organize. She does have way too much stuff to reasonably fit into her cabinets and she knows that, so the third day we were there, she was going through stuff and letting go of a lot of it. That's sort of her homework assignment for the next week before we go back up again so that we can actually fit everything back into the cabinets.
