Very true, my 12 budgies, 2 cocktails and 4 Fischer drive me crazy. They are indeed very naughty but too adorable. Cocktails particularly are very possessive.
This is exactly what I wanted to see, how well they can talk. I trained a Quaker Parrot and he talks so well but sadly my ex has him. Now i'm thinking about getting a Rainbow Lorikeet to train and play with. Very very cute. (~:
Ours talks very well, but we have never been able to train him to say anything. He just chooses what he wants to say from what he hears around him (also uses appropriate noises to communicate meaning, like imitating the beep of the microwave to indicate that he wants his porridge warmed up). He started to construct “sentences” really early on (eg “tucker birdie”, “tucker beep”, “c’mon, c’mon” when we need to move faster in supplying his tucker). He has some words he uses consistently, but aren’t human words - like “Yebeck” , which means that he really doesn’t want you to be where you are, or to do what you are doing and are in danger of being bitten unless you sort yourself out.
+Christopher Blame i have a scaly breasted lorikeet and he would have been about 5 months before he started talking. i have heard that rainbows do start talking faster than some of the other lorikeets. but if you keep talking to them, they will pick things up quick :)
A Little tip mate (if you don't want an expensive vet bill) That tin is made out of ALUMINIUM (i gather you know this) PARROTS CAN GET METAL POISONING it happens like this with Lori's You know how they have a fine tounge that's sort of hairy, well...... When a lori licks something metal , PART OF THE METAL COMES OFF AND GETS STUCK ON THEIR TOUNGE their sensitive tounge CAN'T REMOVE THE METAL FROM THE TOUNGE as a result they get METAL POISONING if your lori gets sick (FYI, these are Australian prices) you'll be up for around $600 in total they need medication and shots and repeated meds and shots every week for around 6 weeks long story short, it's ok to let the bird lick a glass cup but NOT ALUMINIUM also ensure they don't get metal bowls or metal toys in the cage TRUST ME ON THIS.. ok i went through it i used to let my lori play with my car keys it was an innocent thing Lori got sick cost me $600 i went to the chemist bought some baby plastic key sets
Those crazy buggas are just too naughty to but cute

Mine started talking at 4 months of age. Hes a smart little guy
Mine started about 6 months to get his first word ,, HELLO .. 🌈🌈🌈♥️♥️
Ours would have been about 4 months when he shouted his first word at us - “Tucker!” (Food in Australian) - I hadn’t known that they talked until then
