Hey Mr Joe. We have a trash service that comes around every monday and picks ours up. Slowly like everything else the price over the years keeps going up for it.
That is rocky for sure. Not gonna tilling up that for a garden. Is all your property rocky.
Great tip on using it to make a fire break. Alot of peopledont realize that a blower is a fantastic tool for fighting fires and keeping fires away from things you dont want to burn.
I have 3 blowers. Each one has its purpose.
I purchased a 20v brushless blower for my wife. She uses it to Blow off the back porch and sidewalks after we mow. It also gets used for other odd jobs it is our go to blower.
I have on old Stihl hand held blower that my father uses to blow his back porch off after he mows.
And the big dog echo 770t backpack blower. anymore i use that blower when i want to clean out the settled leaves in the flower beds or move something with air in a hurry.
im ready to see your sawmill back up in action.

It sounds as if you have the perfect mixture of equipment! I thought my wife would use the electric but most often, she has the boys go and grab it and get the job done 😉
Yes, my entire property is rocky for sure. Makes a great base to build on and very stable ground. Nice we literally never have mud either. For digging and planting, not so much! 🤣

@oakiewoodsman luckily the wife does love hers itbit actually wookd great for what it it.
I could not imagine no mud. That's awesome. I could use a "mud room" around here with the amount we get certain times of the year

My brother gave me a battery powered blower for Christmas a few years ago. It's basically a no name Amazon one. I didn't think I would use it all that much, but I find myself using it all the time. Now that I own one, I wouldn't be without one. A battery powered one served my needs. I have enough gas engines to take care of already! 🙂

Isn’t it funny how you go in expecting it to be marginal and then find it is a useful tool?! Pretty cool tool and often serves the purpose quite well!

Good morning Joe. We have both electric and gas blowers. Depends on the job as to which I use. Definitely choose gas if I could only have one. We have private trash pick up available where I live, but we haul trash/recycling ourselves. It’s cheaper in our area to haul our own. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Thank you Frank! I have not lived my entire life rurally and not in many places. I just notice sometimes in different regions that things are done differently. I appreciate you watching and I agree as well, if you only have one, gas is the way to go especially if you have some larger potential tasks to handle. Have a good one!

    Spectacular comparison video!
    Thank you
I really want a battery since will be using inside. But really only couple minutes on turbo?

That high draw creates a lot of heat on the batteries. Lots of power with electric but the draw is huge at time. Thanks man!

We're fortunate to have a county operated "convenience center" that accepts everything from household trash to most hazardous materials at no charge. And thats where I typically take most of my branches when we're in a dry spell as they have a very large chipper. There's also a couple independent trash pickup companies here and about 10 years ago we signed up for one of them. $45 a month for 2 poly carts to be picked up weekly.
As you've probably gathered, I'm rather fond of gas powered equipment. And I've not bought into a battery powered platform yet, only a Dewalt drill and impact driver set. I use a blower atleast once a week most of the year, seldom for less than 15 minutes, sometimes in the fall, up to 2 hours. That said, there's been times when a battery model would've been more than adequate and more convenient! But for now I'll stick with gas.

Thank you, Aaron! That is pretty cool that you can go ahead and chip all your dry brush when you need to. $45 a month for two totes would be pretty darn nice. Basically the only option I would have would be to get one of those small dumpsters and get it picked up every so often. When you do decide on a battery platform, Dewalt and Milwaukee are phenomenal choices. I do like rigid stuff, they do not have the selection that Milwaukee and Dewalt have. I don’t know exactly how long my big eight amp power battery lasts blowing and turbo mode, but I think I can blow for more than 15 minutes. There are also larger more powerful battery powered tools as well from Ryobi and Dewalt because they utilize more voltage, but I like to have all one battery platform if I can thank you so much, buddy!

I have such a mix, being off grid battery was a bit tricky but with my new system I can charge a lot of batteries. Trimmers I go has cause I'm doing miles of trail. But a blower I don't use much so went with makita xgt. All my tools are Makita xgt since like you said the batteries aren't cheap. I buy combo deals when they come on sale. The one nice thing is no spark plugs and winterizing needed. But other than tools and mt blower most lawn and chainsaws are all gas

    • @oakiewoodsman
      @oakiewoodsman  9 месяцев назад

Makes total sense! The Makita stuff is great and I love that when they have introduced a larger tool it used two batteries instead of a different platform. That is awesome to me. I really like certain electric tools for sure. I even like my Ridgid 18v chainsaw when I am doing construction work. It is just handy to have. Thank you for watching another friend!

I don't remember ever using battery blowers, only gas. I'm sure battery for smaller properties or closed in areas. The craftsman has treated you well.

Works so well on a job site Kenny! I cannot believe how long this machine has lasted. It is truly incredible. If I were a good mechanic, I could also keep it running on the cheap should it ever need a top end. However, my 390 is still not right and I cannot figure it out at the moment. Oh well. Thank you again sir!

We do have a garbage company to pick up trash bit its not cheap! A whole load of kitchen trash in my f150 short bed is always under 20 bucks. Its actually alot of trash. Both blowers have their purpose.

Agree on the blowers there Ted! Interesting way of doing it. You have to pay for your bagged trash huh? As long as my garage is bagged, it is free. Hmm. Thank you friend.

Every township in my county can be different. We have weekly trash pickup & recyclables are picked up every other week. $144/year is added to my property taxes for garbage pickup. I don't really have another option to avoid paying the yearly fee. I do use a burn barrel for some stuff.

Hmmmm, interesting! The cost is fairly affordable but is it incurred by every resident regardless of use? Thank you DH!
