Thank you so much dude! First I was playing tabs. Now I'm beginning with chords. Now I know D, A, G, C, Am, F, E7. I'm on my way now. Thanks for helping!
Wonderful video; very clear and I appreciate showing the lyrics of the first verse and also talking through what lines are sung during various chord changes. The visual graphics of the chords were also helpful as we were moving along the progression.
Poltergeist: Don't feel alone young brother. When I first started playing guitar 53 years ago, the F chord was hands down the most difficult finger placement (for me anyway) to master in the basic C, F & G chord progression. Hang in there pal, eventually you'll get it down smooth as a baby's bottom. Practice, practice, practice. Best wishes for ya.

Thanks so much for this lesson! 2 quick questions both concerning the "G" chord. 1. I notice that you are using fingers 1,2 & 3 but the diagram uses 2,3, & 4. What's up? 2. When you play the G chord for 2 beats arppegiated what 6 notes do you pick? Thanks again!

You are an awesome teacher! You make it very easy to learn and follow - I've always wanted to play the guitar and your videos are making it possible -Thank You!!!!!
I learned most of my repertoire watching these videos. Easy to follow and well-explained. Most of the time he actually exaggerates how difficult the song is, you should know most of the songs on this channel and you can FEEL which cord is next. Grab your $89 classic guitar (like the one I have) and get playing
I started watching and I LITERALLY don’t know any keys of guitar because im not into intsruments but im good at vocal so i gave it a try and im surprised playing a guitar is that easy thank you for this tutorial
This is the perfect video for me to learn this song because at my school we have a test where each kid has to do a song by themselves and most people are doing songs we already know but me I'm going out of the book literally and literatly
Angry Galamb lol I started today cause my dad shows up like “I got you a guitar” I tried doing a C chord but it sounds like I’m holding all the strings down 😓
Learn also the classic way of the right hand. Difficult in the beginning, but opens a lot of possibilities, when you control it. It's the same way a flamenco guitarist holds his right hand. Bobby Krieger, guitarist of the Doors played flamenco, before he joined the Doors. Also very interesting for fingerpicking, without plectrum.
Even if you're strumming a well-tuned guitar *without* any finger on the frets it's kinda like a mistuned "G" but sometimes it is used as an interchord like in the 90's song "What's up" by "4 Non Blondes". Best wishes and "stay safe!" from Germany!

Thanks so much for this awesome video. I have a question though. This is the very first time I have ever played a guitar and I can't figure out how to incorporate the singing with the notes. Do you think there is anyway that you could sing with the music so we know how it is supposed to sound all together. Sorry to bother you. I think you are awesome.
I was looking for a song to present to my beginning guitar class who is much more advanced than me (I'm really new to guitar) and this seems perfect. Thanks for the help
Hi, which strings are you supposed to pick when you are playing the "G" chord? (picking them one by one and it doesn't sound right). Great video anyways!
This is the very simple variation I don’t think Jeff ever played. It’s more like the piano version of Rufus wainwright. I heard about him from Shrek. Anyways, Jeff had a capo up high on the fretboard. From there he creates a guitar intro out of pieces of the key which inevitably comes together and solidifies into a progression. But he fashioned the chords to be in separate octaves instead of straight through to make his range and vocal ability show as it weaves around the pitch of the chords eventually matching the highest chord in the composition at the very end. That’s how I heard it. This is a good beginning chords into song though. A lot to learn from this.
Pretty cool song to train some C F G Am chord transitions. :D I will use this mostly as an exercise since I still suck at guitar. I like having some melody and rhythm and not just switching chords. Thank you for the lovely video.
