    I bought two Lektric e bikes made in Phoenix( foreign parts sadly)
    Aside from that for $1000 they are awesome. This year they came out with a higher performance and range for $1800.
    I’m not paying that for a bicycle with a motor however.
    I can buy a used Sportster for that $
    I’ve ridden Harleys ( still do) for 45+ years. I’m 65 and live to ride.
    The bikes I got are a lot of fun and are great for Camping.
    Anyway the fact they are made here and get hundreds of positive reviews sold me.
    They fold and are are well worth the $1000 price.
    Have fun and stay safe.
    These may appear to be toys but you can get hurt badly riding them.
    Even an experienced Rider of decades has to be vigilant.

    I don't watch TV anymore since I found your RUclips channel! Now have a binge addiction lol watching your videos over and over!!. I love riding, but due to a recent condition, I gave my fairly new mountain bike to my neighbors daughter. Since Covid, money has been tight for everyone, but my goal has been to put a smile on someone everyday. There is so much at little cost we can do for a smile. I wanted to do something special for this amazing young lady. Her bike was stolen. I do miss my bike, but her smile... incredible! However since seeing this ebike on your channel, I have decided to save up. Your videos show you can hit the trails, or road and stay riding! I especially love the idea you can ride and don't have to worry about losing energy or confidence to get back home. The reason I rehomed my bike. Wow, I'm such a new fan and so excited!! A kid in a candy shop. Since finding your videos, I'm super siked to save for my bike!!! Thank you for educating and the quality of your reviews and encouraging everyone to ride.. I will continue to watch you for the shear joy of your love of freedom and beyond after I can get my butt back in the saddle!! Keep the reviews and rides coming in. Loving every mile!!!! Enjoying every smile 😃

After binge watching some of your videos, I've come to realise that you're good ideas for self building your own E bike is going to cost me a lot of money. It feels like you're spending it for me. FYI: When mopeds were starting out and then eventually became everywhere ...it feels the e-bike craze is getting to be that way too --AND the fear of e-bikes developing the stigma will also become a reality. That's why I want to point out that when it came to mopeds, the reason why certain brands(like Ice Bear) weren't any good, is because they didn't have to be regulated by any type of standards. Why? ...because while the moped frames were developed by 1 company, the motors were build by 2 separate companies, and that's how they're able to bypass certain regulations & standards --thus the ability to put out crap-quality on the market. And IMO it feels that it's starting all over again when it comes to e-bikes and e-bike conversions.
    But something occurred to me when I was watching tv the other night. I was watching BattleBots and given how much the Bots weight & such ...I wondered if the companies and their tech could be used for an e-bike platform.

    Seeing the steering column be bent forward is really disconcerting ! its interesting to see the trends that are emerging, this bike seems to try and do everything, be fat tire, folding, cargo transporting, off road etc. In the UK wide tyre ebikes are rare and the most common bikes are 250w with narrow to medium tire sizes, some people also have electric mountain bikes, in general the top e-bikes here are unaffordable to young people and so e-scooters are much more common to see.

    Any folding fat tire ebike priced below $1400 is too cheap and too cheaply made, so best to avoid it altogether. Something like the Lectric brand is too cheap and nothing but massive trouble. People don’t realize what real costs are for decent quality and so they buy on lowest first price. They soon regret that decision. Most of these firms pricing their folding fat tire ebikes that have at least 590 watt motors and 12 ah batteries at 48 volts, below $1400 and selling them on line will be most certainly out of business within a few years of going live. Here in 2022 and definitely in 2023 you will a massive shake out, with many of these on line ebike firms going belly up. If they don’t have a legitimate dealer network, they are dead meat, and of course by then, that consumer of the on line only sold ebike brand is royally screwed.

    • @Full_Throttle_no_Brakes
      @Full_Throttle_no_Brakes 2 года назад +4

      @@hamster377 yes very easy. Controllers are classified first by the battery voltage, secondly by how many amps it can push to the motor (assuming your battery can handle). For example, the controller can push 100A to the motor but if your battery is not capable of at the bare minimum 60A. It will trip the bms, shutting down the power.
      So you have to get a controller capable of extracting maximum of your battery.
      Remind that:
      Amps = Acceleration
      Volts = top speed
      More volts with more amps = bigger and heavier battery

The engine in general is pretty reliable, but it's having its weak spots like the controller integrated into the engine, the nylon gear, that very annoying mounting plate, the threads in the axle and to a lesser extent the clutch. Lastly how come the cable management hangs so far out to the left of the handlebar? Seems like they could've shortened them up like a normal bike?

The only problem I ever had was egtting them to give me a luggage rack that didnt bang on the fender. ANd couple flats. Until I slimed the last fix. But thats not their fault. Mine will get 28, but you gotta work. I wonder why they are still giving us those lame deraileurs. Everybody keeps them set on one gear. Mineis set on 5. I never change it. What good is it?
