- Ok I probably could have done the first one by myself with a key but it still was to heavy for the car hauler so I would have had to hitched a ride back later to get my vehicle. The point being my buddy Wil who is a local recovery owner/operator like me has given of his time and equipment to help me get through a very difficult time period. I am working on getting as many of the repos as I can uploaded but we did a lot of them during the three weeks of down time so I also want to work on getting the most recent events posted as well. Yes I finally got the truck back yesterday and man I cannot wait to get the footage uploaded. She's perfect...
Again...fantastic videos starring you and Wil. Well executed. You sounded exhausted...hope you got some rest. Happy to see your note on the donations...your welcome and you deserved every dollar. Great to read that you finally have your truck!!! :)
I love the use of Chevy keys for tryouts, a friend has a 2007 pickup and had an early 80s Mercedes, one day the valet at the parking garage drives the Mercedes out with the Chevy key in the ignition
Oh man, I can feel your pain through this video! You are going to appreciate your truck so much when you get it back, you'll treat her even better now than before. Keep it up dude!
this month I have used 70gb THATS RIGHT 70GB watching your channel can you say addicting love the show. the way you do right by people is great the world needs more people like you.
Brandon Royce Last month(June) I used over 750GB doing internet stuffs. xD
well this is off my phone:)
Great video, Mat. Thanks a lot for uploading. :)
Good to hear that you got your truck back, and forward to that video. Hope we will still get to see Will from time to time.
Nice to read that the donations helped you Matt to repair the Ninja and I'm also looking forward to the next video's with the Ninja. Still love the sound of that 8 cylinder diesel and also all the equipment you made to it.
Besides, before you told that those injectors where about 330 dollar per piece, almost the same I payed for my Peugeot 406 diesel ( 2.0 HDI, Turbo with Intercooler ) . Two of the injectors where bad and it has cost me about 1300 euro's to repair. Not only the injectors where bad but also the second dieselpump near the tank was defect.
Anyway, I really hope that the Ninja is running again and I will wish you lots of succes with it ( also with Shania, hope I write her name correct ).
Greetings from Roel, out of the Netherlands.
RoelTyros On the final bill the injectors ended up costing $290 a piece.
this is the first time i seen this video and about 3 seconds before you said "I wont miss this trailer I'll tell you what" i'm like man that's the hard repoing right there damn lol. Thanks man these videos are great, have a good one, keep on keeping on
Matt , Gojacking 101 just awesome. it's great that you have good friends like Will and Jake you know they got your back in trying times. Glad the Ninja is repaired, we know it was hard on you while it was down. Thanks for all the cool videos and now we are waiting on the return of the black Ninja lol....
RBPx1 I am glad to sing Wil's praises cause every time I called him he was there and if he had just come off a double and needed sleep he would tell me and then be there 24 hours later. Wish I could say the same for Jake. He was very unavailable during the past 3 weeks but he did have his buddy who was running his Chevy pick one up for me and haul it to his yard on a night I could not get any help so I have to give him that. He's a busy guy with a lot of irons in the fire.
Had no idea those those Hummers were that heavy.. Wow. Hope the truck repairs and upgrades last and keep the Ninja running strong for you Matt.
YAY!!! Glad you got the truck back!!
Can't wait to see you with your truck back bud. Hope Shanda is doing OK.
Freaking awesome video Matt! Great Job.
"Let's go to the gas station and I'll feel you up there!"

I make sure all encounters are safe. which gas station do you prefer?
I'd have a dog leash and collar in my truck at all times.. When you go walking if spotted start yelling for Sophia, your dog ran off.. Could be the perfect cover
3:42 LOL reading the prescription bottle... Hmmmm, oxy - let me take two of those :]
You know who your friends are when you are broke down. A "C-Note" to do that much work is only operating cost for Will, good Karma will come back someday... Yeah, those shops do not want to do any upgrades to a factory engine and see big profits selling you a re-man engine. Machine shops have been using Bronze guides for decades (I have not seen the video) and are preferred by the engine machine shop.
Hey Matt, I wish you would bring your Dobie with during those night runs...She will always watch your back! Stay safe and God bless you!
Matt, you are a righteous dude, and one of the reasons I'm a subscriber is that you do what many would consider a hateful job with professionalism and a great deal of respect to the people you're repoing vehicles from. Tons of respect for that. But I have a problem with asking for $ for fixing your truck. Donations for your wife's cancer treatment is fine, and if I ever win the lottery, I'd be all over that. But your truck? Seriously, don't you have a business plan that includes possible repairs, like a line of credit from your bank? I work full-time and support a disabled wife. When her car crapped out (and her car is her "wheelchair" to allow her to get to doctors, etc), it took six weeks of scrimping to buy the parts before I could fix it myself. My car was needed as I work in another town. We're poor, but own our 20+ year-old-cars, and don't go begging when automotive shit happens. But you, Matt, seem to have no problem spending megabucks (to me, at least) on toys like a drone that you're not legally allowed to use for your business. I'm not trying to come across as a hater, but I do have to draw a line somewhere. My grown kids need help, your wife needs help, but I get irked when you use your You Tube channel to beg for truck repairs.
Like I said - lot's of respect for you. Keep your fingers crossed for my lottery numbers, and then we can talk.
murraystewartj Well for one I was in a major pinch at the moment I decided to take this course of action so can't say I always make the perfect choice. Second I was not begging I just put it out there that if anyone wanted to help out I could use it at the time. And third only about $2000 ended up coming from the channel anyhow so I did come up with the other 11K through bank and personal loans eventually. As for the drone it only cost $300 (1 repo) and it has been a great learning tool for many different things other than my original idea of using as a surveillance tool. No it's not illegal as long as I do not bill for it's use in a commercial capacity. So how and when I choose to spend my money for small purchases has no bearing on the need to rebuild a 13K engine. It got a few viewers such as yourself upset and I can understand that but battled back and forth over posting the videos asking for assistance from the viewers who enjoy the free advice I give away openly everyday without asking for anything in return only because I enjoy sharing this part of my life and career. Eventually this channel will not exist and I will have sold the repo truck and company and it will all just be words left in some harddrive at Google so it really does not matter much at this point. Like I said not every decision I make as a human is perfect. I am still learning just like the next dude.
I call bullshit.
I don't have a dime to spare.
but him asking when in time of need to pursue the life of happiness does not offend me one bit. as long as he respects his viewers. he is providing entertainment. and not requiring a fee but simply asking those that he entertains. an option for continuing entertainment. it's hard to make a you tube channel of your life. have struggles and not expect someone to be able to help.

Can't wait to hear the Ninjas engine now that it's fixed :)
Thanks for another fix.
Be safe, best wishes to Shanda
That trailers dope, exactly what I'd want to haul cars around with lol
Hey Matt, when your in a position that you have to drag an awd vehicle , have you thought to use a plastic wedge to jam under the tires so it will slide on the asphalt . Seen it done on wrecks to get them off the road and onto the deck truck a few times . Works really well. Just a large umhw plastic wedge bout 6" wide and bout 10" long . Works like a ski.
dukepointchris I have used them in the past when working as a driver for a repo company and they seem to work ok if you are going straight and if the ground is pretty level. If you hit a curb or any type of embankment they pop right out but are easy to pop right back under the tires. They are quieter and to work for sliding vehicles when GoJaks won't work. I should get another set on my truck and use them in a video to show some of the cool stuff you can do with them. They work great for wheel chalks also if you have a free rolling car.
good job matt is the ninja truck on the road now
MN the land of 10,000 Lakes . UT the land of 10,000 plus repos lol take care and be safe...
Have you heard of Sky Patrol? They make a small portable GPS device that is completely self contained. It's probably less than half the size of the one I have seen you use. They are less than $200 each and they come with a lifetime subscription with no extra cost... And the GPS is accurate!! I swear by 'em. If you haven't already, you should check em out.
james moffatt Just looked them up. Pretty cool...
The shops usually mark up 30% on parts. I bought all ARP bolts for the 5.0l. The best bolts money can buy.
beautiful views up there! even in the bad neighborhoods lol
that is one seriously heavy TANK for sure
8:35 I like what you said but I think it would be pretty funny if you had a remote control on your vehicle and while you are towing a repo the looks from people seeing the repo truck going down the street without the driver in the front seat driving but you hanging off the back. LoL :)
Glad you got through it. How's the truck running now?
Matt do you use the access tools break in tools? We use them here in nz and really rate them well.
Tim Hill We use the original long reach tool. I have a few older sets of lockout tools but find that my Big Easy does the job every time.
good showmanship!!!
good ole' abs light on the tahoe lol.
ive watched a fair bit of your vidoes. Subcribed
I have a sling and a wheel lift. when I get these 4x4s, I sling them and let the rear tires freewheel until I get to a safe working spot to dolly
noedymiun magnet work awesome as well.
powerstrokehelp... they are good.. watched alot of his vids... that how i learned to replace the orings on the oil pump

@3:43 Matt looking for those painkillers.. I know how it is I used to be addicted to them
Great work :)
Hope the truck treats you well
Wil's truck is intriguing... the cab looks good(F350?) but the towing area looks older and very rusty. Was it the original tow bed for the truck or was it a donor piece for what I'm guessing is a cabover job?
sm6175 Back in 2005 when I did not have my own truck I was still using keys and a car dollie. From time to time I would get inopt vehicles and needed to call a buddy who ran a towing and parking enforcement company. The truck he drove back then is the exact same truck that Wil owns now. That cab and bed have been together for as long as I have known about them. I just think the Utah salt covered roads have taken their toll on the steel plating on the bed.
If the owner pressed the foot brake on that hummer it would've been hell moving it LOL and if it had the spare tire carrier that thing wouldn't be going anywhere
the spare tire and carrier add another 250 to 300 pounds on the back it barely picked it up without it
Funny this is the first video from your channel I saw that cot my eye....
1:25 Holy trip hazard, Batman!
I'm glad you don't have to Repo that many H2's. That thing is a beast! How would you Repo a H1? Use a flat bed wrecker or is the H1 too wide?
TVfanfanatic Drive it away with the keys.
Great job Matt be safe tho
Hey Matt, how many repos would you say you average per year, if you don't mind me asking?
all of them mostly.
out of every 10 at least 2-7
are dead leads
That tow truck sounds healthy.
I think it's a very interesting show
serious question: why would you ever keep a backup key inside of your car? What purpose does a backup key have if it is inside the damn vehicle?
It only makes it easier to steal...
Wil has done a lot for you while you are down. You should get him some wireless tow lights as a gift for his help.
He fills his gas up at the end of each day and thats all that Will asked for.
TractorBoy4x4 Trust me I will make it right for him and his family.
hahaha watching Matt do this then this guy. Matt makes it look so easy in his videos.
Just curious - why no straps on the dollies? It seems to me one good bump on the freeway might bounce the wheels off the dollies...
nozmoking1 I actually hit a curb before and they have never bunged. The weight of a vehicle pressing down is a lot of force. Straps would just keep them attached to the wheels if the vehicle rolled over in say an accident but not even Utah's infamous pot holes can dislodge them.
Yeah, that makes sense. The motor and transaxle are usually at that end of the vehicle unless it's RWD...
I wish I had a car trailer like yours ,,I have a 35ft 5th wheel car trailer that I gotta use my F-350 to move ,,and I am always hauling cars and trucks for people
and it is annoying trying to pick up a vehicle in the middle of the night ,,not to mention a pain in the ass turning around and/or parking it on a dark road
it is absolutely insane how much money people are asking for car trailers in the midwest where I live ,, up around Omaha Ne,,and it is a pain to buy a new one too ,almost gotta special order anything decent
Question Matt. How much does an average repo cost? I mean like whats the ballpark for what you repo guys charge the finance companies per repo?
MrNotorius5500 $325
+RepoNut
I used to repo with a key code skip trace and a (no holds harm)
my agent got average of 100-150.00 I would get about 75-90$ as a driver.
no truck.
we were able to call a wrecker.
but it was plan c
not plan a
+RepoNut 97-98-99
Maybe Will deserved a couple "C" notes?
Glad you got the ninja back, hope she does good by you here out.....
Your gonna owe wil for quite a few dinners and double header assists.....
I hope the H2 didn't bend wil's head, it torqued quite a bit when he yanked it.... Perhaps-if the cylinder is strong enough, he should have raised the head (as if he was folding the arm) for more clearance....
On the 300c, my thought-(no expert, just couch suggester,) place a wheel chock blind-steer, then go-jack the drives, and swing the back out while Wil swoops in to snag it as fast as you can clear the jacks..... Zip, Zip, GONE.... ;)
Ahhhhhhh, I know, Find a deal, and give Wil a Air assist and compressor package for his truck... (like how you did yours).
Alright everybody, Three Cheers For Wil !!!!! Our buddies savior....
(No challenges or criticisms intended, just meant to offer some thoughts....)
bigtrucker26 There are 10 different ways to do the same repo and each is going to have it's argument for cleanest, safest and most efficient procedures. So I never take comments about changes others would have done. I know that not all the information that was available to me there live in person is hard to comprehend from the other side of the camera lens. Especially when I have put my finishing touches on the editing.
RepoNut As I said, just a couch suggester. Just sharing the execution thought I had while you were trying to plan. Can't say one was better than another, wasn't there. But. The important thing. You got them, it's done, you won. Yay reponut, yay Wil!
bigtrucker26
They even charge extra for the parts at the shop. That says quite a lot about the shop the work is being done...
RepoNut, how come I never see tie downs being used on the end that is on the dolleys? I would think it would help keep them planted.
There aren't any points to secure it and really there is enough weight from the vehicle to keep them planted as long as there aren't any huge dips, and if there are them you compensate with the lift/ boom as far as I know. Then again the only towing I do is with a trailer, not cars. Haha
Good info @White03T4RV82WD. Was just curious myself. I had guessed that they would stay planted just fine, but always wondered about if any improvements could be made.
Damn your friends truck is nowhere near as pristine as the ninja truck - must be a bummer working with "less-than-perfect" equipment on that H2 - great friend for helping out though... i'd do the same for my friends.
been in this position with a hummer 2, Rollercoaster ride coming up... can't brake can't accelerate too hard cause the front end of the tow truck will pop up
Most guys have a working wife, at home, Matt has a totally disabled wife with
very high medical bills and can't work, no wonder he needs financal help to
fix if his truck, besides paying his wifes very high cancer bills. I know of
a very rotten guy who did get a divorce after dumping his wife in a nursing home
for medicaid to pay for her care. he is not the only one, it happens a lot
Matt did not do that he stayed with his disabled wife and is the only one working
and taking care of his very sick wife with advanced cancer. My Mom died of
that same kind of cancer and I was only 6 when I lost my good home, the 2nd
home was the worst possible home any child cold grow up in with unspeakable
abuse who should have gone to prison instead of a high priced nursing home
and never paid restitution for the unskeakable crimes I suffered and my other
Grandpa had died and my Grandma had died of ALS so my brother and I had
no where to go but criminal Fathers side of family. foster homes are just as bad
95% of the time
+Chris W stay strong bud
that sucks so hard, i am so sorry.
I love those older Ford tow trucks, He needs to repaint his boom arm. This videos so old though he probably doesn’t even have that truck any more.
I ready to put a mechanics lien and Repo that truck 😂... just kidding hope you get that money making machine ready!
Lmao at the mantis!
wow...I was scared you got balls
A shop will charge you list price on parts, that is their bread and butter. They call around for parts, have to deal with warranty issues and labor claims for faulty parts...... Most shops will not let people bring the parts. If you bring them the wrong parts then they have a rack tied up.. Higher paying jobs have priority. ..... Some shops do let you buy your own parts, bring them in and charge you straight labor all day long, but will not warranty labor if the junk you bought at o'reilly shits the bed 5 miles down the road.
stuffedchicken420 I have known the owner DJ for almost 2 decades so we have a lot more history than just this rebuild. He allows me to get a way with stuff in his shop that others would get 86 for. I respect his space and he gives me breaks when I need them. I do him towing and recovery favors and he doesn't charge me for emissions and inspections on all my vehicles.
Nice ward building lol
Need to get a local utility type vest w/ clipboard or simulated meter reader device to give you a plausible excuse for your presence on or near the debtor's property.
how did you turn off the alarm on the vehicle ?
Wait for it to turn off on its own or pop the hood and disconnect the battery.... Or if you have the key just turn it off
I got to share one thing that just came into head i forgot to share before i do salvage and a lot of times and i mean a lot you will find key hiden in the paperwork book for the car in the glove box if one is in the car sometimes dealers even toss a extra key in thear and the owner forgets or was not told and the owner never reads the book so they do not see it. yes a lot of times it will not start the car but will alow you to put the car in nuteral and lock the doors
What happen to the truck? What kind of engine is it?
+Michael Allen 6.4 powerstroke. i think it was a cracked piston or something. ended up rebuilding it
Repo have the most exciting job in the world would love to do that and have an adventure? Also do they [repo men] carry any guns in case people decide to go on them?
What if the TV in the living room was to make you think someone was home?
I watched 38:30 -> 38:45 like 5 times lol thanks for that :p
Dat Praying Mantis at the end doe.......
How much money on average do you get per repo?
Pug714 $325
RepoNut Damn dude you really have to work your butt off. Don't get me wrong that's a good amount of money but that rgreatly depends on the monthly average of repos you do. How many repos do you average a month? 10? 15? 20?
If someone catches you crawling under the car.Just say," I'm looking for my cat" :)
Searching for a second key inside the vehicle is that what we call it that's unprofessional searching the vehicle strap steering wheel with the seat belt and let's go
Will reminds me of cousin eddie from national lampoon's vacation. Nice guy though.
Yeah . Just disregard the stop sign in a residential area .
@18:36 some James Bond sh*t.
That Hummer is ALL that Truck wants ain't it?
no it shows in video he look at the pill bottle then he snag it I'm sure if people look close to they will see the same thing to
see why didn't he throw the pill bottle back in the thing again
You don't know that he didn't.
You find out who your true friends are any time you are in a bind..
you will run off anybody if you ask to much, after I got paralyzed a buddy told me call me Friday and I will help you , call me next Friday I might help you, call me the Friday after that and I wont even answer, lol
jake truck didnt like the hummie
photosbychristensen That was Wil not Jake and it definitely did not like the Hummer. My F550 would have thrown it around like a little bitch...
I don't doubt that since it was able to pick up an Excursion
I saw Matt take the pill bottle
No you didn't. You assumed he took it.
He didnt put those pills back in the center console did he..?
I was wondering the same thing...sure Matt was looking for a key..maybe he thought the key was in the bottle..I have done that a time or two..but I sure didn't see him put the bottle back..sorry Matt..what did you do with the bottle of pills. they should have been put back in the console where you got them from in the first place..
I thought the same, but if you pay closet attention, he reads them but he does put them back it was a pretty fast movement, watch it a few times and pay attention to his hands.
He also said further down that they have to document class II controlled substances.
Yes, because everything that happens off camera is exactly what your imagination comes up with.
Musiccalgary Burden of proof falls on the accuser.
3:43 second he took the pills
He did take the pills..lol
@@carolineprince1135 most likely to leave them on the porch in case they were important, or they coulda been illegal
matt, have you think about buying a back-up repo truck with your buddies.. it seem you have true buddies in the field.. so incase like this you and your buddies can make money with a truck
ebu touy We are working on getting a flatbed truck that we will put a driver in and it will be on rotation with the local dispatch and we will all have access to it for specialty repos that require it. So hopefully we will be showing that soon.
why do knock on the door and not ring the doorbell? there bell safer cause I knocked on a door for a repo and then the class on the side shattered and all I did was knock on door part ended up getting sued...matt just ring the door bell much safer
Komskimd3 based on field experience neighbors knock and strangers ring the doorbell. Cops knock for that reason. if you had a negative experience that resulted in the story shared here then I'd have to say that was an anomaly and I would not base my SOP off one incident.
My truck will have no tires when you come pick it up. I will have my truck on bricks for you! LOL
That's fine. He'll call a flatbed. Then the lender may charge you with theft. LOL
Brian Waller True but then you'll end up paying the legal fees, court costs and you'l lose the car anyway.
I bet they are wondering how you got their blocked car out of the driveway.
I haven't rolled out of dollies yet. Knock on wood lol
Jackie
When you have a vehicle that you owe money on, you KNOW you owe money. Sometimes ppl just need another day or 2 and they will have their payment. I understand that completely. What I dont understand, is like the one with the car, you have a garage right there! LOL WHY dont they put the car in the garage? No I have never had a vehicle repossessed. I have always been lucky enough to have a vehicle paid for, but I done a stupid thing and borrowed money on one of my cars. I'm not paying the ridiculous price they want me to pay, if I let them do it their way, I will never in this life time get it paid off. The car is locked and hid in a garage somewhere, in a different state from where both of my addresses are. I'm NOT stupid enough to leave mine sitting right there like okay, here it is. lol NOPE. I done a stupid thing, I am willing to pay for it, but NOT at their price which is more than triple of what it started out being. I borrowed $500. I have already paid around $600 back, they are saying I owe like $1400 something more lol umm NO I dont. I just wont pay anything else. It has a blown head gasket anyway sooooo they aint getting it. Bottom line, they are NOT getting it!! I understand people need to pay their bills. I get that. But sometimes it just gets out of control. And one more thing, why why why would you ever get garage doors with windows? lol regardless as to if you are hiding anything or not, that's a free for all for a would be thief
@Claudius thankfully I have never had to finance. But I'm not far from it if something was to happen to my car. I'm trying to save some money to get another one so I can have a back up just in case. Yes I know with that on my record the odds of me being able to finance a vehicle are zero. That's another reason I'm working on getting another car while my car is still good
That hummer was too heavy
U got a check engine light on dude, put some electric tape over that
