  • Again just doing some catch up on older out of sync videos so yes you will see things that look different and want to comment about it and I'm just trying to save you the time by mentioning it here... LOL I get a kick out of people who don't read the description. Anyhow just a few more repos to keep you loyal subscribers happy and to show that yes I am still alive and kicking. Hope to get a couple more recent videos done and published showing current events from this past week while the truck has been down. Thank you again to all the donations and supporters of this channel. From Shanda and I we love you all

      Lol me too. I wonder how he gets around Fair Credit and privacy laws. I don't see how, as an agent for the lender, he gets away with advertising the debtors' delinquent loan status on youtube . Not that I don't enjoy the videos.

      I can't stop watching them either. He's impressive, organized and quick-thinking. I think he does a good job at maintaining privacy, He does mute the names of the debtors, finance companies and others involved. Makes me never want to default on a car thats for sure!

      KINGSHAKABOBO Never says a name without bleeping it. fuzzes out licence plates and VIN numbers. Technically not giving ID of the debtor. Never tells on the videos how much is owed.... (have to really hunt to find how much he gets per repo too)

    I have had to do repo work with houses in the past for finance companies as a Realtor. They call it 'cash for keys'. We had to approach the owners and convince them to surrender the house to avoid the foreclosure process, and they usually offered them money to move. Sometimes situations were a little dicey. A colleague of mine once had a gun pointed in his face once. He left the business shortly after. I got out of doing it and just concentrated on other areas of real estate, as it was too stressful. I hated having to some of these rural properties to do this as it got a little unnerving and did not feel safe.

    Hey Matt, I know you like doing cool stuff with your cameras so I thought I'd drop this cool little natural transition technique here: At the end of a clip, that you know is going to be put up before another clip in a video, and (in this example anyway) with the gopro mounted to your head, turn your head really fast to the right/left. At the beginning of the next clip, turn your head really fast to the same direction, and continue as normal. Then, in editing, cut the end of the first clip, and beginning of the second clip, so that you are switching to the second clip about mid-way through the head turn. Assuming everything is done correctly, you end up with a transition so smooth, and so natural, that the viewers may even believe for moment that your truck has been teleported. Love the videos Matt, thanks for uploading. :)

      TheGreggy711 I played with stuff like this back in my early days of editing from 2 different camera angles and would close the gate of my impound and right as the fence was about to hit the camera would cut to a shot from the other side of the fence so it appeared as thought the fence went right through the camera that you knew had to be sitting on the ground. I should add stuff like that back into my editing to make the transitions more seamless. Thanks for the idea...

    Look out- repo's going rookie....
    I hope you didn't get a call back on that lawn van mess, gotta watch that lift control buddy....
    And running away without strappin....
    I know it's tough, working doubles nonstop..... But you can't slip on the job or you could loose everything....
    Hoping for Shanda, ninja, and your success.

    • @RepoNut

      bigtrucker26 We run short distances all the time without the straps on. Anything under 25 MPH is not a safety risk at all. Especially when the engine side is on the lift. Getting on the freeway or even a major road with no straps would be a no no but what was shown in this video is everyday norm for most professionals. Sometimes we have to get out of the neighborhood to strap down cause the area is not safe to be doing that kind of stuff. Guys get shot just standing outside their wreckers in the wrong areas.

      bigtrucker26 Always a critic in the bunch...lol There is a difference between a Wreaker Driver and a Repo Man. There is the chance for violence that the Wreaker Driver does not have to deal with like Matt and his kind do. So if you know how to finesse you truck through a certain situation without straps you do it. If you can't see Matt as the Professional that he is, Then your blind. Big Ups Matt you are a Shining example of your kind!

    • @bigtrucker26
      @bigtrucker26 9 лет назад

      scott77515 1. if you look again, I stated I was teasing Matt, before you responded.
      2. based on the video - alone - I didn't see a need for concern taking the car..., but it only shows what the camera can see....
      3. I have always had respect for Matt, since the first repo I saw. There were a couple, where I'm glad Shanda was there to keep him in check, but especially lately, full respect.
      4. While it may be fun to daydream about doing Matt's job, I know I couldn't match him, I'll keep to semi trucks for now....
      5. The comment I made, was meant partially as constructive criticism. He has been pushed beyond reason by his circumstances, and he needs to be careful to keep them from getting worse. I only try to point out the errors to help him prevent them in the future, and to cover his own butt in this sue happy/no responsibility society.....
      Matt- Much love and respect from this household.... I'd send ya a couple bucks, but I've run out, and my efforts to make some keep putting me further in the hole... (Don't worry, my bills aren't secured by collateral..., And I hate owing money..., I'll get them paid somehow....)

    +RepoNut oh I feel how hard it is to be without your truck. My 2003 4Runner V8 busted a tooth in the diff and I get payed Wednesday so that is when I'll be getting it back. It's been a month without my truck and being stuck at home, calling friends for rides, etc is hard when you've had a vehicle you can depend on for years. In a way it's the same as you with your repo truck but I'm using mine to get to my job, you're using yours to literally pick your jobs up. Haha.

Has they check these peoples credit reports, wages and still give credit knowing this will put them far over what they can afford. I've seen some where the rates are 100%. I don't do credit ever. Right now our heat pump is broken. We are waiting till we have the money to replace it. it's over 20 years old,so just getting it fixed is not a real great choice. though we may have to and cross our fingers,it lasts.

    I know these are old videos but i can tell you right now with the amount I people see with these expensive cars running around this type of work will be be ludicrous cash wise in a few years. You can now get a 84 month car loan. 84 months that's insane!!! I make decent money and I cringe at a 400 or 500 dollar car payment and 400-500 doesn't get you a nice ride. Most cars these days are 30k just for something basic. I priced out a truck with just a few options and I was well into the 40k which come to then add in gas and insurance and whatever rate you are at and that's well into the 600 dollar range plus gas and insurance. you are now at 700-800 bucks for a car note. Must be some high paying jobs that i don't know about. Any bank that gives out 84 month loan is crazy and anyone that does an 84 month loan needs to have their head inspected for brain damage.

    In the first repo of this video I only have one criticism. Let me preface by saying that it would seem to be done out of preservation of the vehicle and I understand. That said, because of the weight of the truck, the lawn was getting ruts and torn up. He attached to the front of the van to preserve the van, but there was still damage to their yard. I don't know where the legal repossession would stop on private property, I doubt this was even a issue.
    I do wonder, if you live on a large plot of land and you would have to go well on to private property, at which point is your right to repossess the vehicle trumped by private property\trespassing? While I don't buy anything I can't afford to buy outright, If something of mine where to be repo'd you would have to go back quite a ways off the road, and without a prior call, I would think someone was just up to no good.

    • @codyopj
      @codyopj 9 лет назад +3

      cazablocki As far as I can tell, nobody has responded to you. Through watching his other videos, I've determined that as long as there is not any kind of lock in place, it is legal for him to enter private property to repossess the vehicle. It is only trespassing when he refuses to leave the premises after he is hooked to the vehicle. This is just what I've figured from his videos, so I may be incorrect, and all relevant laws are most likely state level, so it may be different elsewhere.

    A "man" that owes money to a finance company does NOT get hostile because his wife or girlfriend was contacted about his deadbeat behavior. In the middle east countries like Iran men that owe money get very angry and aggressive if their wife is contacted and made aware of the problem. It seems to be an extreme insult in this culture. Fact is if you pay your debts you will never be in a situation that you feel is disrespectful if your spouse is made aware of your debt. Chest pounding and bat wielding is not uncommon. Basically pathetic behavior.

      neomags Ya I'm not a big advocater of going on anyone's lawn unless it looks just perfect and has to be the right situation to justify it. Even on this repo I wished I had not made that choice after it went down the way it did but there have been cases where I was glad I made the call to be ready to book it when shit went south really fast. As you saw I made sure to be off the lawn by the time the man got to the house...

    • @TwoPlusTwoEqualsFive32
      @TwoPlusTwoEqualsFive32 9 лет назад +2

      How exactly can you "damage" grass? Grass gets damaged, shovel it flat, buy some grass seeds for $10 and tada damage fixed.

    • @neomags
      @neomags 9 лет назад +2

      DemonAMVs First, the grass can be killed by the tearing from turning the wheels. Second, the weight of the vehicle (when a heavy one) can leave a track in the dirt. meaning a 'dent' that reshapes the dirt. It can be unsightly. And really picky people can claim damage to they yard and demand to be paid for putting the dirt back in shape.

    • @TwoPlusTwoEqualsFive32
      @TwoPlusTwoEqualsFive32 9 лет назад +1

      neomags I know this, but really how much does it cost to repair it? 5 minutes with a spade, a bag of seeds and access to a bucket or hose.
      On forums I see people suing companies and other people for tire tracks that will be barley noticeable in a week and gone in a month.

    • @neomags
      @neomags 9 лет назад +1

      DemonAMVs Good question. Call a landscaper and you will get a really good idea about what it costs to repair a yard. Doing it yourself means time, effort, and perhaps resources like fill dirt, seed, and the time for the spot to become 'invisible'. I trust you understand that walking on uneven ground becomes a tripping hazard and when mowing the grass having the mower dip every single time it crosses the groove gets to be really annoying. Furthermore, think of it like getting cut by a knife and ending up with a scar. It will be a constant reminder of the injury every time you look at it. Either way....most people won't be singing praises or sending thank you cards for the damage.

    It would suck to have a job where you're dealing with 99% scumbads & scam artists. On top of that there's 1% that's good people & you have take their stuff away. Def not a job for everybody. Interesting though.

    are most cars leased or something in the states? not many people buy cars outright?

    • @ravewss
      @ravewss 9 лет назад +2

      In my own opinion, most people buy and lease, rather than buying outright. A few people buy outright, but they aren't the people you'll see on RUclips getting repossessed haha

    • @kstinson
      @kstinson 9 лет назад +2

      Most people in the states go through multiple routes. I myself cannot afford a vehicle outright with the cost of everything else in my life. I get loans through my credit union. They are fairly low interest loans and based on credit. Some people don't have credit. They may go through a buy here pay here dealer and be financed through them directly. The interest rates are substantially higher. Other people may have the credit and ability to make a decent down payment and prefer to have a newer vehicle every few years and get a lease. It just depends on the financial situation. However I would imagine there are a lot of repos with buy here pay here places as the interest is usually in the upper 20% range and require weekly or bi-weekly payments.

    How overdue does repayment have to be for repossession?

    • @fhuber7507
      @fhuber7507 9 лет назад

      PBMS123 Depends on who you got the loan from and the state as to minimum delinquency to do a repo.
      Violation of some contract terms (such as failure to maintain insurance) can sometimes result in immediate repo. False info on the loan docs they'll grab it immediately too.

    • @PBMS123
      @PBMS123 9 лет назад

      F Huber Seems people miss one payment and it gets repo'd seems a bit harsh, but maybe Aussies have it easier.

    • @fhuber7507
      @fhuber7507 9 лет назад

      If you are dealing at a level where one missed payment results in repo... you've got a history of missed payments and generally being a deadbeat. People who have good credit might even get the late fee waived just by making a phone call and explaining why its late.

    • @PBMS123
      @PBMS123 9 лет назад

      F Huber Okay I suppose that explains it. Is it usually direct debit over in the states, or do you have to transfer money manually?

    • @fhuber7507
      @fhuber7507 9 лет назад

      We have these strange devices... I think they are called computers.
      About 95% of all money transfers/purchases no longer involve cash.
      I went 2 years without ever touching paper money.

      ***** I got very lazy on that one and it could have backfired horribly but thankfully they were nice people. There are times you need to be ready to book it if shit goes south real fast but sometimes just driving on someones lawn can piss them off even more than the repo itself. I saw that I could get to the front of the van and had plenty of room and the lawn was not in that great of shape anyhow but it still could have gone really bad. Better to hook from the rear and throw the dollies and pull straight out.

    I really find your channel entertaining and have been subscribed for some time now. But I feel like I have to explain that some of these financing companies you work for really do fuck people over. Yes alot of times people aren't just paying their bills and are bullshitting you when they tell you they've made a payment. But sometimes these financing companies are plain ripping people off. Back in '05 my dad bought a 1998 chev sedan. He paid every month loyally. When it came VERY close to the end of his payments, and after paying over 16k for a car worth half that, they slammed a 5k bill on him for not paying for insurance for over 2 years. And with this particular finance company, you had the option of having them bill you for insurance or going through a private company which technically my dad was doing, through his bank, which also provides insurance. After sending them proof he had insurance more than once, they decided to come and repo the car. I also heard of companies making payment agreements, then doing a repo on the vehicle anyways. You seem like a smart guy, there must be times you question the legitimacy of some of these companies.
