Wow Melda you are the best!! Making crab and rice, is much easier than peas and rice! Actually, I asked my wife to clean the crabs and take out the fat. I could really taste the crab flavor in the rice. I'm giving my Mother-In-Law some to taste. She's the Peas and Rice & Crab and Rice Queen, everyone loves hers when she make it.

Hey DeAngelo this crab fat comes from the crab back. I have never tried the paste before. I'm sure it would give your rice or grits an awesome flavor as well. Thank you for the support.
@deangelocapron3406 You can also ask someone to buy them while they're in the Bahamas. Clean them and separate the fat. The bodies and claws are scalded for about 3 mins in boiling water. Once they are cooled they can be placed in a zip lock bag and frozen til the person is ready to travel. The fat is also stored separately in a zip lock bag and frozen. It is important that the bodies and claws are scalded first b4 freezing or the texture of the meat will be mushy once cooked. I also know that you can definitely find land crabs in Florida.
