  • Gaza should be governed by an interim peacekeeping force and then handed over to Palestinians to govern, Israel's former prime minister Ehud Olmert has told Sky News.
Mr Olmert, who ruled Israel from 2006-2009, was sharing his vision for how the crisis might move on to the next stage once Israel's political campaign is over.

      After Benjamin Netanyahu retires
He will also make an interview like this, I always wanted a 2 state solution
The center objective of Israel is ethno state on ALL of the territories previously know as Palestine, including West Bank Gaza and extra Golan Heights from Syria

They never want a two-state solution but they want peace with the occupation, which means they want the Palestinians to accept the occupation because they don't trust anyone, they fear what goes around comes around meaning what they did could happen to them if they give them the freedom they get stronger and then it will be hard to stop if anything happens, it's all about what if this and what if that

He was in office exactly 3 months (then went to jail for 6 years)
His deputy is the current ambassador to the UK
And he has not been in any official role for 17 years.
He is pretending to be center left, he is lying, he was in the exact same political party of Netanyahu, he is just a narcissist who is abusing the situation to get attention.
This guy means nothing to anyone in Israel or Palestine, his opinion is as important and anyone else's

3 months? he was pm for 3 years, I've lived through them. He's not politically relevant anymore, that's true, but saying he is lying that he's center left when he was in charge of a literal peace process that made unprecedented offers to the Palestinians is a bit anti-facts.
Also, The guy who removed all of the settlements from Gaza was also from "Netanyahu's Party". The suicide bombers that killed Israelis on buses in the 2nd intifada? A part of them were associated with the (now moderate) Palestinian authorities. History isn't black or white.

@hannacook859 the great unknown in all of this is even if a state within a state solution could be agreed on, would it bring lasting peace? No one knows for certain, so all anyone can do is guess based on the last 75-years of history, and the stated intentions of the various Muslim power bases. It might bring peace for a period, but if the last 75-years has taught us anything, then it isn't likely to last. And in the event a war follows it is more likely to be another world war than not.
