My name is Dave and I travel with my dog Bella in a 1987 Class A Motorhome. My channel is about full time RV Living in an older RV while keeping the wheels rolling on a budget. I do the repairs, updates and upgrades myself. I’ve become my own RV Mechanic/Medic! I seek boondocking opportunities every chance I can and power the RV with 500 watts of solar and approximately 500 amp hours of batteries. RV Resorts are just not our style!

This is a lovely spot, and your efforts can be seen, but I thought it was funny how the smoke followed you. Keep that in mind after you clear the next spot the air currents so you can relax after doing your cleanup. Building cabinets to be better organized is also a good idea. THANK you for sharing.

You know Dave, if you go snooping around a couple of them dead trees you’ll find these mushrooms that look like kind of a sponge I ain’t gonna say what they really look like, but they’re really good the morels are growing now. There’s a guy in your area who has a very informative RUclips channel called: learn your land, check it out, he’ll give you tips
Hey Dave next time mix mustard and mayo together makes a good dipping sauce.
There are smaller mesh hammock type things of all sizes you can hang on the side of the van, and the back doors with magnets that seem to work well for some people. I found them great to roll up clothes in and to hold toiletries. Wow, that’s a wicked storm😳🫣 Supper looked yummy, I’d have mixed a little mustard and ketsup in the mayo for a dip.
Smoke follows me around fires no matter where I move. 😤

Hey Dave have you ever considered putting a locker in your rear axle ? There is a fellow up in Canada who has a van similar to yours who did so. He was trying to get up a trail and his rear wheel was slipping . Put his locker on and was able to traverse up the hill

Around here I was known as the blue tarp guy. We would literally have 4-5 tarps in a huge square surrounding the camp fire . The smoke would rise up through a square in the middle. When the rain came everyone around me would pack up and leave, we sat under in comfort playing Cribbage. The only thing we used the tent or trailer for was sleeping or changing clothes.

I just LOVE how well this van is working out for you Dave, it's the perfect fit for what you need to go exploring on adventures like this. I loved hearing the hail falling on the roof and immediately thought about the health of your solar panels up top, but they are pretty robust, especially the 100/200 watt panels which seem even stronger that a residential panel. I was also inspired by your portable butane/propane camp stove, so I bought myself one with a 12 pack of Butane canisters because my class A RV propane tank is out of fuel and I haven't been physically well enough to get my RV into travel mode to get my big propane tank filled (I will in a month or two though!) and I have been just using an electric skillet or microwave for most cooking, but nothing cooks quite as nicely or evenly as a gas stovetop - so thanks for your inspiration buddy. The property is looking very tidy indeed and it's nice to have a privately owned piece of land so that you can always have a place to chill out not too far from the Garage.

Dave, just curious with that van only getting about 12 miles per gallon. Why not just drive the Coachman up? There would be way more comfortable camp in the Coachman.

Buy a 12x 16 shed move on the property what I would do. Nice job cleaning up. Move the whole tribe group on your property for the summer till quartzite time or Florida.
Nothing like a good rain storm and a handy but good dinner.. love the Knor packets.. i love adding stuff to them and the lovely dinner guest is always handy for quick clean up...

Good job on the camp site and the canopy , magnets , good thinking . I think it is a law that when ever you have a smoky fire , the smoke must follow the people , not sure about that - Hum . Your place looks so quite , do a Google earth look at it to help plan your paths , it will help . We did that on our family 10 acres and it helped a lot . Stay safe , have fun , give Bella a rub for me.

I use a Mr heater with the big Bottle. 20 pound Propane! I burned 🔥 my leg 3rd Degree ! Still healing but for your main home 🏡 it's an Option
Be Careful of Carbon Minoxide gas ! Makes ya sleepy and slougish next Day! Yup
