- Antique Rare Ornate Adze - Restoration
In this video I am restoring an Antique Rare Adze. I was very impressed by its design. The design of this Adze is very different. Surely you have not seen such a design before.
I got this Adze a long time ago. Now I thought it was time to restore it. I started this project by removing the mud from the Adze. After quickly removing the hardened dirt, I applied a 12 volt current to remove all the rust. After cleaning, the adze was found to have very deep hammer marks. Removed minor hammer marks on Adze with a file. Some of the hammer marks were too deep so they were filled with the help of weld. Sanded with a 120 grit grinder to clean up the file marks on the Adze. After that I have started hand sanding in which I sanded with 220 grit, 320 grit, 400 grit and 100 grit. Then buffed the Adze.
I used acacia wood to make the handle of the adze. This wood is very hard and strong. I have designed something on the handle. And then I started hand sanding the wood. 120 grit 220 grit 320 grit 400 grit hand sanding. Used Lacquer to polish the handle.
I really enjoyed working on this project though.

hello guys !
I am trying in every video to make my new video better than my previous video. I made a mistake in this video, I removed the creator sign that was on the adze. But I will remake that sign on Adze I will correct my mistakes in my next video. Thank you very much for watching my video.😊
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

Ppppppppppppppppppppppp❤❤❤❤❤❤
That is a work of art. Congratulations!
Thank you so much☺
Absolutely beautiful
I'm glad you liked my work. Thank you so much☺
Where do you find all these rusty lumps and how do you know what's inside them. I love watching your videos!
beautiful Restoration
Thank you so much bro.😊
Gonna be honest kind of hurts watching you file those hammer marks out. Like that’s history of its creation. Maybe I’m thinking too into it
and the mark of the maker
If restoration projects bother you that much, maybe these types of channels aren't for you. I would suggest amending your watchlist to avoid similar distress in the future.
Restoring an item should mean making it look again much like the original, while respecting its history of use. Making it more glitzy kind of misses the point, in my opinion.
Thanks for your opinion 😊
Yes way overthinking it in fact I hate this opinion! You either restore a tool the right way or don’t restore it at all. Leaving pitting and not mirror polishing it is a garbage half way job also burning the handle and making unnecessary cuts in the metal is stupid too. And filler and bluing are also awful too!
Dope AF results, @AyazRestoration!
I think, it was for making canoes, wooden dishes-this kind of things.
Maybe 🤔
Wouldn't call this a restoration given all the original hammer marks were removed and some reprofiling done. More like creating a new adze using material from an old one. It lost any link to its history.
Beautiful result, though.
I will try to correct my mistakes in my new video. I am very glad that you liked the result. Thank you very much for watching my video. ☺
There is much wrong, it will come loose and personally I feel that it is not authentic to the adzes history
Oh stop it’s a hammer on a RUclips video how many have you restored? Oh wait,ZERO! 😡
@@pavloszimbrakos4410It's not a hammer. It's a wood working hand tool, called an adze, or adz. There are also long handle ones used for shaping logs, wood ship building, Wheelwrights, and barrel makers (coopers?).
@@beccagee5905 ok but whatever it’s still cool
All these antique objects that are being restored look like they've all been dipped in the same mud and dried off.
seeing some of your tools i would say they need some love too. also would make a great clip about small maintanance and tips for others on how to keep them neat
Why go to all the trouble to restore it if you’re just going to use it like a hatchet?
This is antique tools I won't use it just used it for testing☺️
Opera de arta
I don't like it, I'm sorry but it looks like a recently purchased faucet.
If you don't like the video, that's fine,☺️ but this tool is old, you can search it on the internet.
Why better than ReXtorer? Hahah kinda funny. The way you filed down the makers stamps, uhh that kinda hurts. I mean it looks good but if I were you I wouldn't have destroyed these marks
I would anything less is a garbage restoration
I'm low-key tired of seeing mirror polished tools and also epoxy everything. It's overplayed
I will try to make a better video next time.☺Thanks for Watching
It's still very nice looking 👏
To think this is what future generations will find on archeological digs before too long
Its a modern tool that covered in dirt after hitting it with a hammer .Its a 20 dollar tool
You prove it is a modern tool ?
Doesn’t look like a tool anymore, looks like a new piece of art that some millennials would buy just for decoration.
The adze that was lost a few months ago before the rainy season and mud arrived. Probably was made in 2022.
No you have a misunderstanding ☺
Absolutely beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
That's very nice but how did they cast those two pieces of steel together? Shouldn't it be forged by a blacksmith, the casting line where they did it was the first thing being filed off.
This tool is not made by joint two pieces of metal. It is a one-piece tool that must have been made from a metal casting.
Excellent job! You gave new life to a tired tool.
I'm glad you liked my work.
Thank you so much☺
Incredible performance, that took an amazing amount of effort.
Thank you so much.😊
Beautiful job brother.
Thank you so much brother.😊

I'm glad you liked my work. Thank you so much☺
The beautiful manual job!👍💪💯
Thank you so much.😊
It seems your pliers need restoration 😂😂😂 Good job
Yes, you are right, piers needs restoration.😄Thank you so much.☺️
Beautiful! I'm from Americana SP Brasil.
Good Lucky!
Thank you so much☺
Remember just cause its old and rare does not always mean its valuble like comon how many colectors do you see raging to get their hands one of these?
People who work with hand tools would love it They don't make the way they used too. My dad collected antique hand tools.
@@beccagee5905exactly. And as far as adzes go this one is a little unusual. Something tells me this was a coopers tool
Nice work 👌👌👌
Thank you so much.😊
the working part of the tool is clearly bent. It had to be bent back first, before restoration. Now the tool is very beautiful, but non-functional.
perhaps this is a tool for chopping bricks in the hands, such a tool sometimes has such a form of the percussion part........
It's a wood working tool, and is meant to be bent. SMH
@@beccagee5905 This is unusual, can you give a link to how such a tool is used?
I also thought the front part of this tool is bent but it is not, it is made like that. I am glad you like the work done on this tool☺️
You ruined it by filing the dimples away.....
Cool &. relaxing 😎
Thank you so much.☺️
How come no pitting? This thing didn’t spend week in the ground. Fake
I'm surprised you think so 🙄
Well, while the video is relaxing and fun to watch, the original geometry and lack of pitting sure look like this was just covered in mud, and not very long ago. The lines seem too sharp and the surfaces too smooth for something that has spent any significant time underground. However, *somebody* beat the hell out of it with a hammer for sure. Probably while it was hot, from the look of them.
Nice video, though. @@AyazRestoration
@@AyazRestoration I’m surprised you expect people to believe you didn’t cover it in mud and let it dry before you start the restoration. The video would have been better without the BS mud.
Great job bud
Thank you so much.☺
👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👍👏👍👏🥃🥃🥃

Beautiful.
Thank you so much☺
Satisfying ☺☺
Thank you so much bro☺
Nicely done.
Thank you so much.☺
WOW! Well done
I'm glad you liked my work. Thank you so much☺
I totally disagree with filing the hammer marks back so much, and I REALLY disagree with the angle grinder.
The welding? Appalling. Anything antique died in that moment.
Work of industrial art!!👍🏼
Thank you so much.☺️
Magnífico trabajo
Muchas gracias☺️
Great job 🎉
Thank you so much.☺
waaaaaao 🤩 goooood 👍🏻
Thank you so much.☺
Thank you so much.☺
Not antique or rare...
Look at the new ones, much thinner profile, and poor quality of steel.
