A really tough transcription. There's a couple of really fast triplet licks missing, I just couldn't do it or maybe didn't want to. 99% of it is there.
joe: *plays ddddddddddddddd*
crowd: nice
1:43 XD
They probably heard the straight 16ths and thought it was a transition into Dean town
_ Spadix _ benefits of having perfect pitch, you don’t get baited into it 😂
@@giquo they thought he would play dean town and as soon as he didn't play it ppl went silent 💀
@@villusive uhh , F
XD
That transition going back to Beastly at the end of the solo is just really awesome
And before that they're riffing off the ending of "Cory Wong" (the song)
therapist: eighth of a measure bass fills dont exist they cant hurt you
joe dart:
I'm the pentatonic scale and I approve this video.
the only president I recognise
Nice, i like to play you in A Minor
Omg can I get your autograph
Anything else and the morons in the audience will get confused.
I'm so happy Cory and Joe met
Cory's high speed strumming is the perfect compliment to Joe's frenetic pace.
This is awesome!!! Now all I have to do is try to read bass clef
bit of a note: middle line = D, if it wasn't apparent from the start of the video
I love the mistake in measure 20. adds so much color to what he's doing
It’s hard to believe someone took the time to transcribe this. We will never know how accurate it is….
tf you mean well never know, just read the notes and listen
@@senshinakamura9139 😂let me know when you do that.
1:39 it looks pretty wrong. All of the fast notes are missing. Ik op was probably just trying their best, but it looks like they just gave up at that speed
Wow, what a great solo! This hit me right in the feels!
Did you just give up transcribing around 1:35? :)
yes
Wow
Just more pentatonic/dorian type triplet sixteenths. Nothing more complicated than everything else you did there. Should've gone the distance if we're gonna call this a transcription :)
@@tshoob doesn't invalidate the rest of the transcription
ethan miller it’s an estimation but not really a transcription. The dots do look pretty though
Even though I don’t love the sound of Joe’s signature, I respect his chops and his part in this music, this must feel awesome to be able to be on stage and have such a good time
It's a tone, but not very versatile. :D
@@TheSlandis YOU'RE not versatile! You think Vlance Armstrength is shifting into the active bass granny gear in the Swiss alps?
radeklew yep. You got it.
@@radeklew1 just put in the work
Thank you so so much, your efforts are much appreciated!!
Such a cool visualization.
Yes!
2:13 Hell yeah!
i thought msg stood for monosodium glutimate
madison square garden
@@marventos8104 ik
@@fenderjbass6463 🤣🤣🤣
my fingers hurt just watching this
Very nice!! For authenticity it would be nice to add a treble clef with the head bobbing, I guess you would need 16th notes at least. Cheers!
cory wong coming out of nowhere
Cory wong appearing out of nowhere makes this solo 100000x better.
3:28 joe dart going peOW on bass like that :O
0 dislikes. Love to see it
which is kind of funny because the transcription is actually missing a lot
@@WILLIFM. I noticed, but I wouldn't be able to do it any better, or even as good.. or even half as good
He really goes
It'd be nice to see this transcription with X noteheads for when he's being percussive on the string, with either a slap or a thump. That threw me a few times when watching. Other than that, love how you displayed the transcription!
Nice interpretation of an Anthony Jackson classic bassline.
I heard Toejam and Earl too.
Jaco is grinning his ass off….
1:44 people thought Joe was going Dean Town, lmao
i dont see why they would, i think they were just cheering
@@hadengold its cause dean town starts like that, with16ths notes
one note is all you need, that is what Victor Wooten said!
I love how the others walk off stage when he starts 😂
Same, gotta see this band live some day.
Thats my favourite note right Dhere
Holy Cow..loving this!!!
Awesome transcription, but sadly this is one of Dart's weaker solos.
this is one of my weaker transcriptions as well
Peter Yost you tell him that...
Fine. Let’s see you do it.
@@mortimerjmouse stupid argument but agreed this solo was legendary
I blame the audience
I can't read music and I play bass by ear but I found that quite easy to follow.
Beautiful, thanks dude
Wasn't that middle part a transcription of an O'Jays song? I'm not sure, maybe Ship Ahoy?
No, I looked it up and it's "For The Love Of Money" by indeed the O'Jays.
Nah it’s Toejam and Earl lol
Me hizo acordar a No Shelter de RATM
only band better to playback speed lower
i liked this
me too
I'm just freaking angry with myself cause I want to try to play this solo but I am very bad reading sheets F*CKKKKKK
awesome machine gun
Hey man how did you edited the score?
Amazing have you got this in like standard bass tab
Yeah that speed is impressive but what about the dirty loops bassist
Sounds like Joe played some Toejam and Earl when he was younger.
Monosodium Glutamate transcription
Very cool but buncha them triplets were written as 16ths
Nice job m8
People respond to rhythm.
1:13
Lotta little things missing, but great video nonetheless
What the fuck is that? Where’s my goddamn tabs???
Geez
Oh gosh
Y u skip the fills?
it says in the description. I just couldn't or didn't want to. they are really hard to hear/transcribe. I did a couple of them on the musescore version
Lol this sentence is so weird : "I couldn't do it or just didn't want to".
You talk like if it was someone else who did this, or like you did that 10 years ago. Why can't you just say "I coudn't do it" that's it.
@@etamlak8199 because both halves of that sentence are true, I didn't want to transcribe them because they were very hard to discern. could I check out your version to see how you did them
@@etamlak8199 jog on
Too fast, let's be honest, this is exhibition.
Please edit your work
yeah yeah - i am 50 years old - and i can tell you that i listened to other bassists ...... this is for the young generations - all getting excited over some a groove with some 16th notes and some impro - what can i say - enjoy - widen your scope ...
Being older doesn't mean you're smarter, it just means you've been dumb for longer
I dont think youre giving joe or vulfpeck enough credit. Nobody cares how old you are. Because your "widened scope" means nothing if it only looks surface level before dismissing and moving on.
@@srgiggity i can tell you bro i have a veeeery wide scope very wide - i think he is overrated - and there are so many bassists out there who can groove in a 16th note funky feel - i guess i have touched your idol - and every generation is entitled to have its own idol - i simply say that i don't like the idea that he is having all this success - i guess all his power lies in the dark glasses - no offence intended ....definitely a lucky chap being in the right place at the right time - . i am joking - for further reference - ruclips.net/video/aJdmFD_dEQg/видео.html - though maybe it is not that suitable - there is no groove there - but a whole lot of control and expressiveness - especially last track which is teen town - and not dean town -
@@vadimislearningguitar4977 again missing the point. Vulfeck is a band. Not joe dart. A lot of it lies in the fact that stratton got a bunch of talented folks who like and are good at grooving and can orchestrate and compose them in a wonderful and superclean way. That isnt to say that being a minimalist is everything. But to deny the talent is just arrogant. Not every song or piece is about flexing your technical knowledge and skills. people dont usually go to live shows to listen to and judge harshly. They already know what to expect, theyve listened at home with good systems. they just want to have fun and chill out.
The pro artist is the amateur, but elaborate.
@@srgiggity oooops i am missing the point again - of course i know vulfpeck is a band - an overrated band - but i cannot cross the ocean to see them live - again no offense intended - only a matter of taste - hoping that musicland is still a democratic land - where different tastes can clash - and if you love a band - you need to be able to tolerated critiques - the basic rule being not everyone likes the same kind of music - peace
Not saying he's bad, but I find his playing to be *insanely* overrated. But this is just a mess of 16th notes and blues scales.
He's good, but this solo is bad. Hated it
