Thanks for the video the spring punch tool i think will help considering crutchfield recommends 6 1/2s because they say the aftermarket 5 1/4 wont fit properly since they don't make a pre made bracket for it. I may or may not try 5 1/4 just to see because those grills on the factory speakers can be pryed off and used as brakets for aftermarket speakers I don't know why crutchfield doesn't tell anyone that but I've done it before and made it work.
Yeah, it definitely helps. So far, the setup I installed in this video is still cranking out the tunes. Pretty sure Crutchfield sells the exact speakers for this truck in a whole kit, whereas I bought mine separately. The bass on these door speakers is pretty amazing. Actually vibrates my rearview mirror, LOL. Not the OEM head unit, obviously. I installed a JVC double din that has a little more power. Hope your install goes well. Thanks for watching and the comment! 🤘🏻
Yes I have a 2005 dodge ram 1500 4.7 4 door trying replace speakers but can't find a video on how too take the hand for the windows off so I can take the panels off
The factory speakers are made to work with the factory radio. After market radios will burn out the factory speakers because they are a different ohm. that's why sound crapy when you change the radio head.
Just picked up a 2008 1500. Laramie. I didn't turn on the radio while test driving and now Im being rattled to death by the burnt out speakers... To be honest though, blown speakers wouldnt have swayed me from the hell of a deal I got on the truck.. Anyways, Just wanted to reach out for two main things; 7 Months later... how is the sound quality holding up for you? Any gripes? Would you have done anything different? Have never used a Polk brand speaker - and I see a deal for only $30 or so more, I can get all JBL speakers. Just wanted to gather your thoughts, thank you for your time. Take care
As far as the speakers go...I LOVE them. Still sound GREAT. I wouldn't have done anything differently. All that said....one thing I did that wasn't covered in the vid was that I also installed a Boss double din head unit that pumps out 80 watts per channel, and a 10" sub. In MY opinion, any quality speaker is gonna need a little more power than a stock head can put out. Whichever speakers you decide to go with, I'd add an amp as well. I listen to mainly 80's metal (Metallica, Motley Crue, Judas Priest, etc.) and my setup works well for ME. Thanks for watching and the comment! 🤘🏻
Wow, razors 🪒 in short supply back east? Got that whole neck beard thing goin on😂 it pops off…really, at least on the drivers side it did! Those connectors just say two in the pink and one in the…well you know. Damn, you work fast when that metal crap is playin🤣bet you have no problems with new screw holes! OMG I’m rolling over here. Well if I ever buy an old Dodge (chances are slim n none) now I know how to do the speakers. Now you can blast the devils music to your delight, when’s the sub woofer going in?
This helped me replace the speakers on my sons Dodge, thanks!!!
Glad the vid was helpful! Thanks for watching and the comment!!🤘🏻
The lock cover doesn’t need to come off the door has two screws the one you can see In The door and and one holding the handle on
Really good, informative video and no BS. Thank you sir. You’ve earned a sub today. 🎉
@@odinssun2411 Appreciate it. Glad you liked the vid!🤘🏻
I used the Polk speakers on mine. Had to use both spacers due to the magnet hitting window. Other than that, all good.
@@Gagy260 I was lucky with mine. No spacers needed. Thanks for watching and the comment! 🤘🏻
Thanks grandpa this would be my weekend project

Nice!! Thanks for watching and the comment! 🤘🏻
I recently installed a double din and sub in my Ram, too. Didn't do a video, but there's a TON of videos for that.👍🏻
@@ShockWaveOffroad that will be the next upgrade! Lol

I assume you mean hand crank windows. If so, there's a c-clip on the backside. If you push the panel in, you should be able to see it.

Question, does "6 X 9" size speakers fit on the ram 04 ?
@@Jorge-qo9in They would probably work in the front doors with little to no modification.

Wow did not know this
