my english is bad, but i will try to explain, when you connect transformer with 220V grid (relay will do it). 220V voltage of the grid into 12V 0 12V AC. AC voltage is rectified by the diode body of the mosfet (you can search google "body diode mosfet") then filtered by capacitor 4700uF 35V. voltage after rectifier ~ 16 - 17 VDC (depends on transformer). It will charge you battery.

I have seen 5kw 120-240, and vice versa, for fairly cheap, for less than I'd think the transformer only could be bought for, I'd like to build a split phase inverter, using a 5 kw transformer, to maybe power a wsher and dryer, using a 24, or 48 v batt bank, and pure sine wave of course, it us above my knowledge level at the moment, but I will still try eventually, great video..

Yes, you can use multiple transformers. However, the transformer needs to be the same, the primary transformer is the same. You also need more mosfet.

The charging current depends on the transformer. At my inverter, the maximum charging current is 9A.
