Here I Go Again...To The Emergency Room

Some of you may catch the reference to Whitesnake's classic "Here I Go Again." This week, it feels like I’m on that same familiar road.
After what seemed like a positive start to another round of chemotherapy, things took a turn. As the week progressed, I noticed my belly beginning to swell again, and by Thursday, pain had kicked in. By Saturday, it was pretty clear that things weren’t improving-three days of discomfort and persistent belly pain led us to the ER.
The result? Another paracentesis to relieve the pressure. This time, they drained 2.75 liters of fluid from my abdomen, bringing me a much-needed sense of relief, even if it’s starting to feel like a rerun.
