Rich Mnisi Dzuvula Exhibition x BMW South Africa

Rich Mnisi talks about confronting himself and the process of collaboration that went into the creation of his latest body of work, ‘Dzuvula’ (Shedding Skin), in this short film made in partnership with BMW South Africa. ‘Dzuvula’ is Mnisi’s second solo exhibition of collectible design.
Comprising sculptural bronze furniture and lighting, as well as a hand-woven rug, it expands on the themes of duality and fluidity that emerged in his debut collection, ‘Nyoka’. Mnisi’s work showcases traditional modes of making and artisanship in partnership with various artists and artisans including @charles_haupt @monkeybizcape and @paco.rugs. The serpent - a central motif - is translated into hand-beaded patterns, intricately sculpted forms and polished bronze. ‘Dzuvula’ was celebrated at a collector’s dinner, CASA RICH, held in collaboration with BMW South Africa.
