I was born in 1959 in Scotland to a working class background and I was raised with the mindset that a man that doesn't take a good drink is not a real man.I now see that philosophy as nonsense but that train of thought is still imprinted in me and can't be removed from the psyche.I have not drank today and will not drink tomorrow,that is my full time job 24/7
I haven't touched a drink for 9 years,I am not going back on it EVER,I am totally uninterested in the first 56 years of my life,it was a booze shambles in one way or another
Surely the physical signs of alcoholism are different from what this doctor describes as he is describing someone who is drunk? Having had close contact with a number of alcoholics their physical symptoms are more than an unsteady gait, shaking and friendliness?
