    • @EdsterIII

      He played a snooty, rich, snob, but David Ogden Stiers was a jack of all trades. He LOVED classical music and did conduct symphonies. He also was a comedic genius. He was in a older movie Better Off Dead, I think John Cusack was in it as well as Booger from Revenge of the Nerds. He loved to laugh and yes was a prank master. Many of the M*A*S*H actors were pranksters. One more reason why they got along so well and loved working with each other.

    • @canalesworks1247
      @canalesworks1247 11 месяцев назад +2

      @@EdsterIII Two of the classical music episodes I always rememebr were when Hawkeye moved out of the Swamp leaving Charles and Mahler vs BJ and his daughter's potty training stories.
      In the ending of that one Hawkeye cranks up the Mahler to bury BJ's stories, thus siding with Charles.
      The other was when BJ destroyed Charles' record stylus, again due to Mahler.
      Charles went to Margret to beg for her record player but BJ lied to her and claimed that Charles said insulting things about her that he did not say. When Charles and Margret compared notes they patched things up, brought Margret's record player to the Swamp and took revenge on BJ.
      Margret: "Charles why don't you play one of those dead baby things you have?"
      Charles "This one is called Kindertotenlieder"
      BJ runs from the Swamp screaming.
      I love Charles. Best character on the show, but Margret is a close second, especially later Margret. Ironically she got sexier when she was no longer "hot lips". Nothing sexier than a beautiful and brilliant independent woman.

    Harry Morgan used to drive Jack Webb nuts on the set of Dragnet with his goofing around. Morgan was well known for it, must have been a real treat for the MASH cast.

      I watch Dragnet every morning on MeTV. They play it @ 4:30am and 5:00am. Since I became ill my sleep is off/gone/MIA. Harry Morgan was a goofball. Jack Webb was always so serious and Harry would mess with him just to see how he'd react. It was hilarious to read. Webb said he'd be mad as hell one second, then see Harry's smile and laugh and poof. He'd laugh too. Harry Morgan was one of the sweetest men ever to act in Hollywood. Loretta Swit loved him like a father. David Ogden Stiers was also an extremely funny man. Loved to prank as well. I'd LOVE to be on set just once. But I was a little kid in the 70's. Still my all-time favorite show, ever!

    I have a memory of one episode (from one of the later seasons, I think) in which Klinger either drops or accidentally knocks his cigar out of his mouth while he’s delivering a line, quickly recovers it, puts it back in his mouth and carries on as if nothing has happened. Anyone else remember this, and if so, which episode it from from? I was amazed that they left it in the episode and didn’t reshoot the scene.
